Du vrai! Excellent magret de canard as well as chicken cordon bleu and their Fanlo, Italian red with hearty Cab Franc!! Frogs legs could have been slightly less cooked. Overall delightful experience of the real thing.

Fantastic! Great food and atmosphere. It was our first time and will definitely be back.
Great waiter and staff. All recommended items were delicious. An evening rain storm added to the perfect ambiance.
The food was good though some expected items were missing--like bread.
The service was very poor, especially the very long wait before anyone could take an order and then the long wait after the check was requested.
We have always enjoyed the experience at Chez Mamou, but last night was lack luster. The food was okay, but the service was not great. We hardly saw our server and when we did we asked for a wine list, but the server did not speak English and did not know what we were saying. We never were able to order our wine. We have always enjoyed brunch there, but the dinner service was not the same experience we have always had.
The service is so consistently poor that despite the good food and value I will not return. My understanding is that this is a long standing issue with Chez Mamou and not just related to the pandemic.
It’s a great place but they’re clearly understaffed. There was no host when we arrived and no one even greeted us for like 5 minutes, including the waiter who was directly in front of us for about a minute doing something else for another table. Once seated without menus we waited another 7 minutes and had to get up and request menus. That being said, once we did get a waiter, he was friendly and efficient and took good care of us. I’m gluten-free and dairy-free (except butter) and he accommodated that without any problems. Both of us really liked our food (salmon carpaccio appetizer, artichoke/asparagus/spinach ravioli, scallops). My only suggestion would be offering gluten-free bread as an option (I would have enjoyed carpaccio much more with bread).
Wait staff not as attentive - disappointed, outdoor seating was nice ambiance.
We, along with several couples arrived at 5 pm for our reservations. The door was unlocked the tables were not set up. When one couple went inside and called out loudly, there was no response. Everyone waited until 5:20 or so. And when another couple went inside and called out, there was no sign of anyone.
If there was a problem for the evening, it would have been reasonable to notify us as we were expected to confirm our reservations. By then, other better places were booked.
I had lunch reservations for 1:00 PM today and they were closed. They had my phone number, why couldn’t they have called me?
Fabulous food, wine and atmosphere
Las copas de vino estaban sucias, no tenían uno de los top platillos del menú, para ser un restaurante francés, los postres no hicieron diferencia, eran simples.
Sopa de cebolla deliciosa y muy recomendable.
A true gem. Wonderful in all respects. Great menu and prices are reasonable. We will be back.
Super fabulous place for a nice intimate dinner. Great food and we sat next to the most wonderful couple (outdoor tables are close), but they we lovely and we talked the whole time.
The food was great. They were clearly understaffed and our waiter was clearly showing his stress. Not very professional, even if understandable. We will be happy to return, however.
Outstanding! so glad we decided on Chez Mamou! everything was perfect! Thank you Robert!
We had a great Brunch. Our granddaughter loves crepes with Nutella. When she requested Nutella and was told they don’t have Nutella, at first she was visibly disappointed. But wait, the restaurant makes their own version which surpassed the commercial version. It was her bday celebration so it was a special experience for her.
Poor. Not only was service poor without apology, and took over two hours from start to finish. Bottle of red wine was served at 85 degrees. Main course spaetzle was substituted with instant mashed potatoes. Gross. Is this KFC? Three scallops does not constitute a main course either. A failure on all levels. French macaroons were ages old, crumbled after I bit into them. I fear for anyone eating there. Stay away from here at all costs. It was painful and the three tables around us felt the exact same way. Also note, owner disappeared and left her servers struggling for answers. 1/10
Host forgot to have our friends join our table after being informed beforehand - they waited 15 minutes unnecessarily indoors while we were seated outdoors - courtyard experience was nice but service was slow probably due to staffing issues related to COVID - overall food quality was good but Sea Bass portion was extremely small for the entree price.
Excellent- Just know there isn’t a host/ess. Wait to be seated - they see you waiting, they will seat you as soon as they can.
Good food but way understaffed causing a very poor experience.
I am sorry to say that it was a bad experience. Very slow unresponsive service. Food arrived not as ordered. Had to order aperitif twice. Wine ordered with main course was forgotten. No apparent concern with dissatisfaction. Certainly will not return or recommend.
A promising start. Outstanding onion soup. Fresh salad.
Poor service, except for an attentive busboy.
Entrees were lukewarm. Request for a second glass of wine was ignored.
Another wonderful dinner at Chez Mamou. The mussels appetizer was delicious, as were the frogs legs and the escargot. The chicken cordon bleu was very tasty, as was the salad niceoise.
By far my favorite restaurant. It is very special and quaint. I go as often as I can. Sadly, not enough. This past year everyone has been short staffed but it was not an issue for us like some of the other reviewers. We enjoy taking our time there. The food is authentic, delicious, and not as main stream as other French bistros. The pastries are heavenly. They are originally what hooked me. I love this place.
Good service but the food was forgetful!!!! The crepe appeared to be from a package and reheated. The fried potatoes had no seasoning, and the plate as a whole looked like the cook just threw it on with no garnish…very unappetizing. My husband ordered the tuna sandwich which was supposed to come with French fries but instead came with homemade potato chips.
Chez Mamou was buzzing with people! ((: We enjoyed our lunch on their lovely patio with a quality selection food to choose from on the menu. Would recommend coffee with dessert💕 ..visually aesthetic & delicious!
Our Waiter was fun, kind, attentive, efficient.. ✨Bon appétit!! 🤗
Great ingredients crafted into classic French dishes with a contemporary feel.
Great food. Service slow due to lack of staff. Pls. frequent this restaurant. Food is truly FRENCH and sauces perfect. All entries were scrumptious. Will go back again again. Worth the slower service.
The food was excellent! As other reviews have stated, the service was slow. We waited at the front door for at least 10 minutes before we were greeted by the host. We were seated in the outdoor patio area on the side of the building, which was very charming. Service was slow in getting to us with drink orders and it was awhile before the wine was brought to us. We have absolutely no complaints about the salads, entrees or desserts, but we had to wait for the check. In defense of the restaurant, I’ve read that there is a shortage of restaurant staffing in Santa Fe.
Best service and excellent food!
Great food, only 2 servers made service kinda slow but overall a pretty good first experience for Chez Mamou. I would definitely go back again.
Just a wonderful little French restaurant. Very affordable and wonderful food! Highly recommend!
Just the best! Every time we come to Santa Fe we always come here and absolutely love it! We always order just about the entire menu. Cheers!
My wife and I had dinner there three days ago
Food came one hour late
Food was ok nothing to write about
Will never go back terrible service
We were a party of 4 enjoying a birthday celebration and all of us were so pleased with our brunch dishes and service. Food was delicious and service impeccable. All of us plan to return soon.
Our favorite restaurant, Chez Mamou has maintained its outstanding kitchen staff, ensuring that everything they serve is outstanding. Every item on the extensive menu and amazing pastry case is just delicious and the pace of meals isn't rushed, nor are customers left waiting and ignored. Friends I've sent here fall in love with the place. Like many restaurants it does seem that portion sizes on main courses have been trimmed a bit following to overcome the financial blow of Covid lockdown, but we don't really miss the packed plates. And frankly, that just leaves a bit more room for one of their incredible pastries. A great place for a date, small get together, or just an everyday meal.
I’ve eaten there before and loved it. Sadly , this time was a disappointment. I had the quiche and it must have been at least a day old. It was too brown on top and very dry. My friend enjoyed the scampi salad. The service wasn’t up to par but I understand that restaurants are having trouble getting workers. The price was quite reasonable though.
Absolutely amazing service and food.
