Best food I’ve had since Covid started! An amazing homemade pasta with scallops green beans fresh fennel and a saffron cream sauce. My friend had the croissant burger. Both fantastic and hot on arrival. Heat lamps kept us warm outside. Excellent service! Going back VERY soon! Reserve online a few hours or day before.
Nice sunny day so outside seating worked. Music play list was spot on.
I have enjoyed a meal here every time I visit Santa Fe. The food is always outstanding, whether it is breakfast or dinner. The same people work here (must be the owners) and are always very nice and friendly. This is the only place I've ever had "perfect" eggs benedict , and I've had this several times for breakfast, so that shows it's consistant. The french onion soup is another "perfect" and the salads are simple and very fresh as if they've just picked the vegetables. If you love french food, you will love this place. This last time visiting was during Covid and they offered outside dining. Even though it was cold outside each table had two large burners so we were warm and comfortable, and the staff made sure we were warm
This was a lovely New Years Eve three course dinner with fine, friendly service and wonderful food. So many choices! Oysters were fresh, steak was tender, lots of fabulous dessert choices. They are a bakery, after all. The only reason I took off a bit for ambience is we had to eat outside under a heater and it was 30 degrees. My red wine was chilled! Ha! I’ve eaten here pre-COVID many times and always had a great experience.
The food was excellent. Service was attentive but not overly so. Great place for any meal.
Service was horrible. Food overpriced for what it was. Out of several items. Not a quality experience one would expect. Very disappointing.
Lovely to sit outdoors in the sun. Wonderful classic French brunch.
Awesome. One of my favorite places.
We had a great time eating here. Good, quick service. Great food.
We have been coming to Chez Mamou for the past 7 years, when we finally discovered it. Breakfast is excellent - lunch is great and the dinners are amazing. The ambience is more European than American - like that of a local French Bakery/Bistro... that brings you to the service... which is always great. You can tell that the staff is well versed in the food/wine served - they treat you as an honored guest - and are very attentive. It’s easy to see that they have worked together so long.. their interaction is like a family. Go - we’ve never been diss appointed!
We tried the Salmon Carpaccio, Mussels and shrimp scampi with jalapeño/bacon. All very good. We had the burger, onion soup and the Steak Frite. Burger and soup were very good. Steak was tough and overcooked for medium rare. Had pastries for dessert and were ok. Service was very marginal. Wife asked for a wine and response was "we do not have that and walked off" no suggestions or anything. Only time he really came around was when I asked about the check. With the current covid restrictions, patio is a good option.
We had a wonderful Christmas meal here on the outdoor patio. They managed to make it warm and romantic even when most everything else in the town was shut down. Our waiter, Zach, was especially gracious.
Quite possibly the best Christmas Dinner we have ever had! SUPER friendly staff, made us not only feel welcome but part of the family. Highly recommend!
Christmas Eve dinner at Chez Mamou: the good part was that they were open and offered comfortable outdoor dining in the challenging conditions imposed by New Mexico and Santa Fe. The prefix price was very expensive and dining options were expectedly limited. The item offered as osso buco consisted of a pork substitute that was sub-par, especially for the price. Their chestnut soup was delicious and the deserts were fine. Service was excellent.
The night was a bit cold for sitting on the porch but the 2 heaters provided warmth. The glass of prosecco was not champagne as advertised. The meal was excellent and a bit overpriced because they gave me a menu by mistake that was $20 less but because it was Christmas Eve they raised the price and didn't really add anything extra. Our food was excellent and I know all restaurants are struggling and doing the best they can.
We had a lovely brunch outside and the heat lamps were awesome! Everyone was so nice and the service was really good as well!
The food was delicious and the service was great.
We had reservations but it didn’t seem to matter, we were offered an open table that was not really set up, the heater was set up afterwards as well. However, after the initial hiccup, we were offered croissants and coffee while we waited, the waitress recommended great wine pairings for our lunch and the service was excellent.
The best option for COVID dining in Santa Fe. We ate here 3 time during our 5 day stay and loved it better each time. Excellent staff.
Great brunch on the patio. Salmon Benedict was very good.
This French restaurant should be a Michelin restaurant !!
The dishes are equally as good as the best restaurants in France !!!
I suggest sticking to the regular items on the menu - we tried a seasonal dish and found it to be subpar with gritty seafood. Excellent service and ambiance thought.
Everything was spectacular
Food and atmosphere were good. Nothing outstanding but enjoyable. Outside setting was really nice.
Get the French onion soup! Delicious!
We visited Chez Mamou on our last day in Santa Fe. We have never waited that long (50 min) for our food. We received the wrong bottle of wine (they brought us a significantly more expensive bottle), our starter never arrived, the Filet was so overcooked and when asked for bread, we were told, that bread is only offered during dinner service (not lunch). The server tried her best, but was poorly understaffed and overwhelmed. Water was never refilled. A quick apology regarding missing starter and bad filet temperature and suddenly they offered comp bread as an apology. I would have expected more. We also waited 15 min in line inside the restaurant to finally pay our over-priced bill. We were looking forward to fine French Cuisine, but left disappointed and will not be back.
Incredible place for any meal, the croque monsieur is to die for, the ambience, food, and service is just lovely :)
The food was excellent. We had reservations for Brunch and it was chaotic to get seated and have our order taken. The staff was very nice.
Nice staff, good food, great casual place, felt back in France and that is so nice for a french person.
Service was slow, not very attentive, food order came out wrong had to send back.
Quality of food was also very disappointing.
Reviews I read were great that is why I chose the place.
Food was lacking seasoning, portion and presentation was also sloppy.
Not something you expect from French inspired kitchen.
Needless to say will not be going back.
We had such a great brunch at Chez Mamou that we went back to check out the dinner! Fabulous food and wonderful waitstaff.
We have been to this restaurant many times and each time the food has been excellent and the service unobtrusive but efficient
The food was amazing! Our server was super friendly and helpful, but did forget our bottle of wine, which did not come out until our food came. My order was wrong but she quickly fixed it. Overall it was a very good experience
Went for brunch. Only one person running the front of the restaurant. Tables weren’t being bussed, took over 20 minutes to get coffee. Food was ok but the service was lacking. Multiple people arrived and left because tables weren’t being cleared. Observed other people waiting 15 minutes to get order placed.
Always a welcoming and delicious experience. Our go to place especially these horrid days
The silverware was like in a cafeteria. Otherwise all was very good.
We ordered the special beet salad which was excellent. However the dinner entrees, a pasta dish with scallops & 2shrimp was not tasty and, particularly when the bill came & it was a $48 entree, a genuine disappointment.
We love brunch at Chez Mamou!!Best Eggs Benedict in Santa Fe, their omelets are amazing, and their pastries are spectacular— best I’ve ever eaten. There are also one of the few places that serve frog’s legs, and they are special as well.
We highly recommend their outside dining if the weather permits.
Delicious and beautifully presented patio dining just a few blocks off historical central plaza. We had a delightful evening eating out, our first in 7 months!
Reservation made through OpenTable was not honored.
Nice outside sitting area on side of building that is protected from the wind
