Food was fantastic, fresh, authentic. Very friendly service. Diverse menu and not overwhelming. Incredible wine selection. WE absolutely loved it for breakfast and then dinner a few days later.
Wonderful food! Loved everything we ordered and don't forget to get pastries in the morning too. Will come back next visit to Santa Fe.
Great food .. a little pricey at over $100 per person all in for apps, salad, entree, shared dessert a couple glasses of wine and the taxes and tip .. but Mamou is a great French bistro and worth it if you have the money
Limited patio area for dining with a pet. Advance booking is a must for busy weekend periods.
Food at Sunday Brunch was outstanding
Beautifully sited restaurant in the heart of downtown Santa Fe.
Very good food in a nice interior environment.
Last day in Santa Fe and we had an awesome lunch. Wished we would have discovered it sooner!!
First time here and it was excellent. The potatoes at brunch are amazing. I will go back for sure
Enjoyed our Luncheon outside. Our meals were delicious and the service was excellent. I also met and spoke with the owner who was truly from France. I was once a student in France and this brought back fond memories. Felt like being back there.
Good food & service. Definitely would return here. The patio is closed in the winter, so we ate inside.
Wonderful meal and service- accordionist was such a pleasant bonus
Great dinner and wonderful desserts.
this was a visit to Santa Fe. I only wish we lived here, so we could patronize freqently. Everything exceptionally positive; no criticisms.
When we came to Santa Fe we had 2 dinners and 2 breakfasts here
We e been here before and have always drooled for their cheese danish. We also loved the croque monsieur and they’ve got the very best coffee in town...
this time we tried dinner twice
Love the braised scallops over salad. Dressing is divine. Second night we had filet mignonette and paillard de polle.
Excellent steak... good size, nice tender filet perfectly cooked
The chicken was TENDER and tasty with a nice brown crust and delicious crust.
Our waitress was the nicest... Kimberly who is a grade school art teacher by day was the kindest person and was truly interested in giving us a wonderful dining experience
ShirlSchafferMD and Paul Lit
Food excellent waiter very patient friendly and attentive to all our needs. Food presentation appealing and totally enjoyable
. . . A favorite neighborhood restaurant in downtown Santa Fe. Great outdoor patio and delicious French food and pastries.
A wonderful little French place just off the Santa Fe Plaza. Everything was great.
The food was good. I ordered the duck medium rare and it was definitely served well. It still was very good though. My husband ordered pasta which was also very good. The escargot appetizer was prepared differently than expected but again, very good. Our server’s wine suggestion was excellent. It was a Chenin Blanc from France and was exactly what I was looking for. The spoiler was that it was very warm in the restaurant and the air conditioner could not keep up. We thankfully were seated close to the doors so occasionally the breeze would draw in. I felt sorry for the people seated in the center of the restaurant, who also were uncomfortably hot.
Red wine was served too warm and had to get a chilled glass. They had the doors open and we were bothered by flies and gnats. Sea Bass was very good. My lamb was underdone owing to their being very thin. Too easy to overcook. Computer billing got dodgy and subtracted from the evening. Great onion soup and escargot!
Made my reservation on Open table, only to show up and find that the restaurant was closed for the evening. It was Fiestas weekend in Santa Fe and difficult to find tables. Other guests were also outside experiencing the same thing- no notification of restaurant being closed, no call, no email. Can't speak for the food or service itself since we were not able to dine there- but it was a disappointing experience.
Because of an event they closed the night of our reservation and did not notify us.
We had a delicious meal and wonderful service!
My grilled scallops on endive salad was the best I have ever had. My husband loves his beef Bourgogne!
This was a disappointing experience. We’d been to Chez before & had a great experience w/great food. Service was very strange, as if we were a bother, & food not as we expected. For a French restaurant the pastries were stale, could tell the yes been in the fridge for a while. Don’t think we will return. Too many good restaurants in Santa Fe to go to One that’s just average.
The food was wonderful. The ambiance was great except for the bad music coming from the roof top across the street.
Having been there before we guessed this would be a good place to celebrate our 60th wedding anniversary, well it turned out to be true. The minute our waiter, Robert, was told it was our anniversary he quickly disappeared and reappeared with a split of Proseco. We then shared a beet, avocado and grapefruit salad prepared to perfection. After studying the menu for awhile Sheila chose the filet mignon and I, Don, chose the rack of lamb, both to be done medium rare. Well, I shouldn't have eaten all 4 ribs but they were so good I couldn't, at least didn't, resist; by noon the next day I had recovered. Robert finished of our time there with a photo to share with friends and family. Oh yes, the Cabernet Sauvignon was excellent, even with the peculiar name Freakshow!
The meals was amazing. The setting and The ambience is amazing and always is. The wait staff was slightly under whelming but the kitchen made up for their short comings. Had the sea bass with a caper and red pepper chutney on top. it was paired well with asparagus tips and seasoned rice. Highly recommended.
Chez Mamou delivers every time. The food is excellent and the wine choices are great. We have been there for breakfast, lunch and dinner and all meals have been excellent.
We were disappointed with our meals at Chez Mamou. The escargots were dry, tough and had no taste. The chicken was very dry in the cordon bleu. A very sweet sauce overwhelmed the entre. The waiter was attentive and the atmosphere was pleasant.
The location was great. We were staying at the Drury Plaza Hotel. The ambiance was above average. The service seemed rushed and not at all committed to our enjoyment of a good meal. The French onion soup was top of the line. The chicken cordon blu was tasty but NOT presented very well. The baby carrots were not done enough. I just so happened to get baby carrots the following night which were done much better. They were still tender crisp, but someone paid more attention to them. The menu on the internet is grossly misleading about price. I was very disappointed considering the final bill.
The food was excellent and the server was knowledgeable and very kind and attentive. The busser needs a bit of training on fine dinning. She was pleasant but needs training. That was the evening.
We went back for brunch on Sunday and although the pastries were excellent, the service was just poor. From the hostess to the servers, rude, we asked questions and they grew impatient.
Nadine was so pleasant and made this visit extra special. Thank You.
First time diners here and we'll be back. Classic French fare and a very fairly priced (mostly Euro) wine list. The scallop pasta dish easily shared by both the women. Heard no complaints re: the Steak Frites and I had the Duck confit which was delicious.
Another fine meal - our waiter Liroh is outstanding. We enjoyed the food as did our friends who were dining there for the first time.
Always a good choice
Always a pleasure to dine with these Folks
can’t wait to do it again
A beautiful restaurant with reasonable French style food spoilt by pitiful service. Along with another couple we waited at the door for someone to even acknowledge our presence. They eventually gave up and left! We stuck it out and eventually a waiter wandered over to seat us. During the meal our first course was cleared away along with the silverware. The main course came but no new silverware. We had to wait to get the attention of a passing waiter who agreed to bring us some, but he forgot! I doubt we would go back.
The food is always great, love the courtyard but it rained, so we were inside, but still nice ambience
Best salmon in Santa Fe! My husband - who has celiac disease and must eat gluten free - avoids French restaurants believing that he cannot eat anything there. Not so at Chez Mamou! Thank you Chez Mamou for delicious meals for us both!
Excellent food: especially the moules et frites and the duck confit
Incredibly good, buttery scrambled eggs - absolutely as good as at home and that is saying a lot when a kitchen does NOT ruin eggs by overcooking, how like the French! Wonderful side of potatoes, a small surprise pile of delicious greens and the fresh fruit was perfectly ripe and sweet. Incredible almond and pear pastry, simply delicious. And the coffee was another plus...all in all we dined in a pretty room open to the beautiful breeze and it couldn't have been more lovely.
Great food and lovely service. Goat cheese salad was delicious as was the salmon carpaccio.
