Delicious food - a hidden gem. Great value for the money.
Chez Guy is the best restaurant in Naples that no one knows about. It is tucked away in the Bed Bath and Beyond shopping center off Airport Road in a small older space. However, the food and service are always extraordinary. I took my family to celebrate my wife's birthday, her choice. She wanted escargot and a filet au poivre with pommes frites. Add a caesar salad and she was in heaven. My son had the same and I had lamb chops. Everything was delicious.
The service is wonderful also. It is very European, calm and quiet. Go enjoy. You will be very happy.
My fish was the best fish I have had in Naples. The whole dish, sides included were fabulous. Nice wine! A nice find!
We had enjoyed Chef Guy’s former restaurant and wanted to try this one. We were so glad we did! The decor was charming, the staff friendly and the food was wonderful! We cannot wait to return!
Always a pleasure to dine at Chez Guy, enjoying great food and the pleasure of exchanges with owner and staff.
Great food and nice quiet evening! We definitely recommend it!
I SO wanted to like this place but the food was terrible. Probably the worst French food I have had in a long time. First, the split of Prosecco I order was totally flat and they replaced it with another flat one. The appetizer escargot was so bitter it was inedible and the weak French onion soup bowl was stuffed to the brim with bread, so much so it was literally just a big bowl of vaguely onion mushy bread—also inedible. At this point we consider walking out! My husbands Bronzino was ok, but even after being filleted it was totally full of bones, my fillet mignon was under cooked and grey and the au poive sauce didn’t have and poive!! The “hand cut fries” look an awful lot like store bought frozen fries. Again I really wanted to like a convenient local place, but alas this place fell down big time!
Food is great, as is service. Best value in Naples.
Absolutely delicious food with friendly service. Can't wait to go back again.
The service and food were great!
One of the best!
Dining at Chez Guy took us back to summers in Southern France, in the Dordogne River area. What a gem. Add it to your repertoire. You won’t regret it! We enjoyed the lunch specials: seafood quiche, and les moules marineires! The baguettes were amongst the best we’ve enjoyed in SW Florida. Creme brulee for dessert....of course!
The restaurant decor is very simple, but the food was outstanding! The escargot and steak tartare did not disappoint, they were the best I’ve had since we were in Paris last May!
Great place for French bistro food. The mussels were very clean, fresh and delicious in a delicate cream sauce. Other members enjoyed the salmon, pork and grouper.
We had a very nice, late-afternoon dinner sitting outside. We had good service and enjoyed the food.
The chef owns and runs this small Italian Bistro. The food is excellent and the service is very good. Overall, we love this restaurant and will definitely come back again.
Great food. Server worked hard.
From start to finish the two of us had an excellent dinner Chez Guy. The French onion soup had a good amount of onion, cheese, and bread; the salmon carpaccio was a generous amount and flavorful; the grouper dinner and the appetizer portion of scallops were both delicious; and the desserts of profiteroles and chocolate mousse were superb. Our server was friendly and informative and there was not a haughty waiter in sight in the rest of the restaurant. Highly recommended.
Best French food in Naples!
Great. Food was the centerpiece but service was excellent as well. Chef Guy personally came by to check on our experience
Delicious food at reasonable prices. Service very friendly and attentive.
Portions were not large--take that as a plus or a minus, depending on your preference. All four of us enjoyed our meals, except the person who had the duck. The duck breast was very good, but the cassoulet was very dry. The chocolate mousse was delicious. The service was excellent. We also had lunch here a few days before returning for dinner. The mussels were the best we have eaten and the quiche loraine was excellent.
I had grouper which was delicious. My wife and friend had the skirt steak , flavor good but very chewy.
My other friend had veal loin, also chewy .
Escargot did not have much flavor mussels were very good.
Its hit or miss
I loved this restaurant. It is a well kept secret. The food is outstanding. I started with the french onion soup which was delious and big, I shared it with my husband. The I had the petite filet with peppercorn sauce. My mouth is still watering . The steak was so tender I didn't even need a knife .My husband had the grouper in a unique sauce. Everyone with me loved their meals also. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
Very nice meal, service was gery french and perfect.
Try it... You'll LOVE it! The food and wine list are just extraordinary! You won't be sorry! We'll be back, for sure!!
Shared a dinner with friends who enjoy French cuisine. Overall reaction was "this was good, but not as good as our #1-rated French restaurant in Naples" . One person was disappointed in her entree (duck confit) but the rest of us were happy. The sauce on my Loup de Mer was wonderful!
Absolutely outstanding. One of the best meals I’ve had in Naples.
Had a lovely dinner. Chez Guy is a quaint little restaurant with delicious food!
Had lunch in Paris. That's was it felt like. Outstanding onion soup and croquettes monsieur and warm goat cheese salad. Should be a ho to place for good French food. We shall return
We had a wonderful dinner. Everything was perfect from the Oysters Rockefeller to the Bronzini to the Profiteroles for dessert. Loved it!
Very nice, quiet place. Excellent cuisine and ambiance
First time...will go back.....food very tasty. Service friendly and good.
Food was delicious. Service excellent. Delightful evening!
What a wonderful evening we had! Recommended by friends, we were finally able to get to Chez Guy ourselves and were not disappointed. The service was great without being intrusive, the food marvelous. I enjoyed a warm goat cheese salad appetizer, my husband raved about the French onion soup. I ordered one of the evening's specials, snapper Provencal and found it very special. My husband ordered his favorite Beef Bourguignon and was equally pleased. If there were any thing with which I was unhappy, it was the noise level. But, noise aside, we will definitely be going back.
Valentines - the restaurant was very busy and tables were tightly packed in. We had to wait some minutes while they prepared our table which was acceptable however it was indicative of the service to come. It was a limited choice menu but we waited a long time for our order to be taken. Delay between courses followed and they even forgot one course. Waiters were exiting the kitchen then roaming about trying to find the right table. It was clear from the interaction of staff that they were not coping.
The menu is traditional bistro food. It was cooked to an acceptable standard .
Ambience is basic.
We went for Valentines. We made a reservation and they didn’t tell us there would be a set Valentines menu. We got there and saw that it was a 4 course meal for $78/person. The food was mediocre. Definitely not worth the price.
We had a very enjoyable Valentine's Day dinner at Chez Guy. It was a four course price fixed menu that night but the food and service made the $78 pp cost worthwhile. Service is very professional. Highlights of the dinner were the duck l'orange which was perfectly cooked and crisp and the yellow snapper provencale. Wine list is interesting and fairly priced. All in all, a nice restaurant that we will return to.
The Food was good but the service was terrible! Not sure if this place is worth a second chance??
We had to change our Valentine's Day reservation at the last minute and they were graciously able to accommodate us. Their thoughtful service continued throughout the meal and the food was excellently prepared, artfully served, and delicious.
We have recommended to friends and plan to return.
This is the second time we have been to this restaurant. For Valentine day they had a pre-set menu. The cost was $78pp. I had the lettuce wedge which was cut up only about 2 pieces of lettuce with very little toppings. I order lamb well done it came out almost raw. The three little pieces of lamb that was served was a joke. Little pile of mashed potatoes. For $78 it was a joke. I love french food and I know they do not serve large potions but come on, for $78 this was not good. It tasted OK, but you left hungry. If we try this restaurant again it will be with the reg. menu. Our waiter at first of OK but failed to check back to replace water, was so busy they should have more servers. I would say what we got should have been a $25 mean not $78.
