   The food is excellent, and while the service could use a bit of polish, I’m thrilled to have this spot uptown—especially as a terrific late-night option.

   We were excited to finally get a reservation at this highly sought-after and upscale restaurant, anticipating a truly special experience. Unfortunately, the service fell short of expectations and felt clumsy for such a refined and expensive setting. While most of the food was delicious, the $145 Dover sole was a major disappointment—rubbery, tough, and far from the buttery texture one would expect. When we raised our concern, the waitress was dismissive and condescending, as if we had never experienced quality white fish before. Her attitude was judgmental from the start. Throughout the meal, we felt rushed and uncomfortable. Plates were grabbed abruptly, water was spilled without apology, and desserts were practically shoved onto the table at the end. The overall demeanor of the staff was curt and unwelcoming, making it difficult to enjoy what should have been a celebratory evening. With a bill exceeding $1,000, one would expect a level of hospitality and appreciation that was simply not there. Not worth the reservation in my opinion

   Service was absolutely amazing, and the bread basket with butter was delicious, I’ll start with that because it was one of the few positives of this dining experience. I can’t believe how horrible the food was. The chicken was dry, the crab was extremely fishy and off putting, the toro was extremely basic and minature. The foie gras terrine was served too cold so it wasn’t spreadable. However the worst part was the $190 ribeye, it was so tough (even at a rare cook temp!) and flavorless it was inedible to me, one of the worst steaks I have ever had. The side potatoes and salad were very good thankfully, but I couldn’t believe the quality of the food we were served. Also, the drinks are tiny tiny 5 oz nick and noras that are maybe filled 2/3 of the way.

   It was a nice place and a good meal, but it didn’t quite live up to my expectations. The service was friendly and professional, but a bit uneven. Our drinks took 45 minutes and didn’t arrive until after the bread and first course were finished. That said, wine service was prompt and excellent. The crab and rice were under-seasoned, but the beef tartare was the best I’ve ever had. The chicken dish was great, but we were given small bread plates to eat a shared entrée, which made tackling the generously sized salad nearly impossible. Overall, the experience wasn’t bad — just a little off. I’d come back, but for a similar price point, I much prefer Le Veau d’Or.

   Thr joint is hopping! We had a late reservation and the restaurant was still full of happy eaters - bar is really pretty and restaurant is charming (and small). We had excellent service, delicious filet mignon and choice from a good, well thought out wine list. Cannot wait to go back if we can ever get a reservation!

   Chez Fifi was a spectacular spot for our girl dinner. We were instantly charmed by the homey but elegant decor and the fabulous staff. There’s also something great about the tables where you can hear everyone at your table very well and it feels insulated from the general din of the restaurant so you’re in your own world but still feel like you’re at a place worth being at. We loved the crab the most of the appetizers - definitely get multiple if you are more than 3-4 people. The bluefin tuna was so fresh and the endives super refreshing. I liked the steak tartare but it felt fairly standard. The entrees are really what shined - the au poivre sauce was one of the best I’ve had and great for dipping the fries. The chicken was cooked perfectly and came with the best potatoes. Loved that everything felt like a classic dish or drink but still felt exciting and easy somehow. We were so full but definitely need to come back for dessert!

   The secret to Chez Fifi is the intimate setting with wine service and beverage service that’s truly outstanding. Our group had drinks, cocktails and wine that were all exceptional and added to the dinning experience.

   We were eventually sat for a 10pm dinner reservation at 10.45pm after repeatedly being told by the staff that our table would be 5 mins. When we finally sat for dinner our server recommended us 2 dishes that we found out from another server were actually unavailable. The first server disappeared never to be seen again. The service was terrible and so we walked out without eating. We won’t be going back.

    In over 25 years of living on UES of Manhattan, this was hands down THE worst dining experience in memory. The staff are rude, clueless and flat out arrogant for unclear reason. I live 2 blocks away and would never go back. Tourists will eat it up maybe
