A new French bistro nestled in a historic townhouse on the Upper East Side. In the main dining room, Executive Chef Zack Zeidman delivers Parisian classics with Basque flair. Upstairs at Salon de Fifi a l’Étage, master mixologist Yumi Nemoto showcases innovative signature cocktails, served alongside light bites from the kitchen below.

Too energetic and noisy inside the restaurant so that we had to speak out loudly, which caused a lot of stress. The food was good enough but with no surprise, particularly we were surprised with the price of steak frit, which was $248 ! Who choose? Also a small highball price was $26 and it was the most expensive highball that I have ever seen in NYC.

Service was not gracious. Meat was overcooked. De-boned dover sole had many bones in it.

Our server was condescending and awkwardly pressured us to order more food. Said it was a 'sharing style menu' and that our order was too light. We ordered wine, the crab starter, steak/frites and the snapper. That is all that we wanted for the 2 of us, but as it was our first time at Chez Fifi, and he insisted we try something else, we added the Haricot verts. The portions were good size, we had more than enough food and could not finish everything. We had difficulty cutting the steak and it had a strange texture. Frites were soggy and the snapper was average. The zucchini that was the side of the snapper was difficult to chew. Overall, very underwhelming. The decor and ambiance of the restaurant is great. Otherwise, disappointing.

I was so looking forward to this one, but it didn’t meet expectations. The tables are way too close together and my husband and I were screaming just to hear each other. The food was good, but nothing was a standout dish to boast about. We got the salmon rilletes, jamon, steak tartare (this one is an exception - done v well), omelette with shrimp and uni, and the deviled crab. However, the blue cheese martini was incredible.

Food was delicious and service was good, but we didn’t get seated until 30 minutes after our reservation time.

We enjoyed our evening at Fifi. It distinguished itself as one of the best NYC restaurants of 2025. Go immediately!
