Chez Billy Sud
What Insiders Are Saying
For classic French food in Georgetown, head to Chez Billy Sud.
The white burgundy bottle was served too warm. Took awhile in ice to cool down. While I was waiting I had a white burgundy by the glass, it too was too warm.
Lovely ambiance, great service, and the food is delicious!!
First time visiting. Huge fan… Have already recommended it to many.
Food was exceptional! One of us had the Nova Scotia salmon with egg and the other had the deconstructed nicoise salad. Both of us were so pleased! Service was warm and welcoming. The fact that the dining room was packed for lunch in the middle of August with the government on recess speaks volumes to their excellence. We very much look forward to returning!
Began apprehensively as outside space was closed that evening and the noise level from next table was high. But service (Torrence A) was non-intrusive yet exceptional. And the food - we were three with three different dishes - was also exceptional. Pleased to have made a great new discovery.
Sue Pringle crowded and loud. Bluefish Rillettes served too cold - hard to spread - and Trout skin was very salty. Coffee ice cream dessert was terrific!
Server was lovely and did a great job explaining the menu. Decor made you feel as though you’re dining in France.
First time at Chez Billy, but not our last! Food and atmosphere were great, service excellent. Very romantic
This is the way how Americans think French cuisine should look and taste like, but it doesn’t.
We like Chez Billy because it a refined and quiet place to dine.
Absolutely delicious food, great service, great ambience.
From drinks in the bar to dessert, everything was perfect!
Not the place to order the burger. Bacon was charred. Fries were overdone. Pate with prunes was great.
This is one of our favorite restaurants. They never disappoint- fabulous food and service.
This is one of the best, if not the best of the, restaurants in the Georgetown area. I'm not big on going to restaurants multiple time, but this is one we will be back to many times in the future. Also, one of the better French restaurants we have visited outside of France.
Lovely dining room. Friendly, excellent service. Outstanding food. Recommended wine was stellar.
Great, as always.
great place to have a wonderful time in every single step.
The chilled corn soup was the best I have ever tasted!
Everything was excellent. The food was delicious, the ambiance was wonderful, and we were very pleased with the service. I'd highly recommend it for a romantic date night, although I enjoyed it a lot with a friend. I would not recommend it for a large group.
Chez Billy Sud has a special place for me, but setting that bias aside it delivers every single time. Phenomenal food, service and atmosphere.
Best Caesar salad ever ))
We were a party of 4 and split everything. I can’t remember eating anything I wouldn’t get again. It was absolutely amazing!! And our waiter was extremely knowledgeable but in a very laid back non-pretentious way. From food, ambience, service... one of the best meals/experiences I’ve ever had. Will be back!
We had a great experience. Food was good, server was good! Want to go back next time we are in town.
This was our first visit and we will be returning. We celebrated our wedding anniversary here and it couldn’t have been nicer. Our fabulous waiter Andre made the evening special. The food was delicious and service was spot on. I ordered the trout and my husband ordered the steak frites.
It was a very nice setting, staff was very nice our waiter was extremely kind and engaging. The food was good not great but I would recommend to friends.
Love this place. During lunch, it’s quiet enough to carry on a conversation. The ambience is charming, with the French bistro vibe. We had cheese omelettes with salad, which were very filling and delicious. The lunch menu is somewhat limited.
Beautiful, quiet excellent food flawless service!
Only negative was seeing 2 rats running in street as we left restaurant. Several people who live in the city said this is common?
This is such a beautiful special restaurant. I love meeting friends and business colleagues alike here. The food is excellent. The service is low key and efficient. I’m not sure if I am in Paris or Vienna when I go here. Not a casual dining place. Worth staying in business attire and leaving the kids a home.
If you want a little bit of Paris, this is the restaurant to eat at. The space is small and intimate, the menu limited but each dish perfectly prepared, and the wine list formidable if you go for a bottle. In summer eat on the terrace and you will add to your "Parisian" experience.
I was in the middle of a conference call when we arrived and our waiter was very accommodating. The whole experience was amazing. Just wish I could have stayed longer and tried more items on the menu. It is our new favorite spot!
Have been twice. Thoroughly enjoyable! Looking forward to returning.
The mussels were outstanding . Everything was very well executed.
A true Washington and Georgetown gem! Delicious food, great service, classy interior and always a treat!
Great find! Perfect restaurant for quiet friends or a romantic evening, connected to a wicked cool bar. Awesome manager! Great people work there, food is amazing. We’ll be back!
We went to Chez Billy Sud for Brunch and were thrilled. We have heard a lot about this place and wanted to try it out. I think the food, service , selection of items was all amazing
One of the best restaurants in town. They also have a great wine bar next door so you might want to come a little early and enjoy the wine and ambience. Great for people watching too. Michelle Obama was there the night we visited. We go to celebrate special occasions.
Such a charming restaurant! Wonderful food, lovely ambiance, super wine list.
Unfortunately it was 96 outside and extremely hot inside; poor air conditioning-noise level very high.
However, the food and service will bring us back in the Fall
Food was great! Service was good! I wish I had known how large entree portions were and we probably would have shared (not a complaint just a comment). We had the mussels and steak frits (best steak frits ever!)
