Chips and Salsa
One pound of chips and one pint of salsa
cheddar cheese, salsa chicken with new mexico, red chile sauce, slow-roasted pork, picadillo ground beef, vegetarian
It’s a chain so you know what you’re gonna get food wise. That being said, it was Mother’s Day and you could tell the place had been pumping since brunch- the floors were greasy, there were broken chips and beans under our table, etc, the one wheelchair accessible bathroom stall was out of order in the women’s room with no signage or indication of an alternative. The table we were at was also not great- seated at the window where the sun was beating down despite the shade drawn and the bay view was further obscured by the plastic sheeting outside covered in bird droppings. Felt like being under a magnifying glass- outside seating was probably the way to go. The kids’ tater tots were cold so we asked for a new hot batch but it took so long by the time they came out we were done eating. The server was friendly and gracious but not one time did anyone come by for water refills. Also when we arrived we were a few minutes late for our reservation and there was a giant line to check in with one hostess. We waited about ten minutes and had several parties cut the front of the line before we got to the hostess who then informed us we were late and almost lost our spot despite waiting patiently. Overall the restaurant seemed overwhelmed with the high traffic day. Would I go back mid week for an outdoor table and a margarita? Maybe.
They had a DJ with huge speakers outside. Thank goodness we were inside where the blasting sound was muffled. Service was super slow and inattentive. Food was fine. There was very little accommodation for my celiac daughter and gluten free food even though we had checked the website for gf before we left. She couldn’t eat the chips or ground beef which are both her favorites. My food was dry, but the margaritas were only $6, which was nice. Floors and bathroom were filthy. Table wasn’t too clean either. We won’t be back.
Our waitress was absolutely amazing! Very tentative thank you for a awesome experience
Experience was very nice and quiet
We had a fajita combo plate and drinks. Drinks pretty good but the steak was flavorless and have the consistency of rubber. The dining area had a filthy floor with many food spills and the service was laughably neglectful. For example our fajita plate arrived sizzling away and after THREE requests the accompanying tortillas arrived 15 minutes later and by then the meat was cold. Avoid this terribly managed restaurant!
We felt safe in the open area inside the restaurant. Originally we were planning on outdoor dining. The waiter (I wish I remembered his name) was excellent-attentive and very quick with meeting our requests. We will go back when we are in the area again.
I would really like to give the whole staff the benefit of the doubt here because of COVID but there could have been better communication in the team. We made a reservation for two, we were asked our name and said it would be a moment. The hostess could not find any servers to help us and the two hostesses seemed to be visibly overwhelmed. We waited next to a family with 3 kids who had been waiting longer than us. After both hostesses left the front desk we waited outside for them to return as some people that were waiting inside were not wearing masks. After waiting another 20min to be called. We went back to the desk to ask if we could be seated, they didn’t remember us and had to take my name down again only to tell us that they were only seating reservations on 1 1/2 of the restaurant. They offered us a huge booth that the family next to us had been waiting for, for at least 30min. We rejected and asked to sit at a smaller table. Once there we had to flag down a waiter that was also visibly overwhelmed while across the restaurant, what looked like the manager and an employee were having a heated argument in the window outside while the employee smoked a cigarette with her gloves on. Although this was entertaining to watch from afar, they were far to short staffed to have this also happening for a good 15min. Once we had our waiters attention the food was fine and the drinks made it in a timely manner. I don’t think I’ll be going back soon. Maybe after they get back on their feet again.
Our reservation was at 6:45 pm. We all arrived at 6:40. The lady hostess said it will be about 5 minutes for the table to be ready at the Cantina. We waited. meanwhile a group of 4 Hispanics who came at 6:50 got seated at the table for 6, and one of the servers pulled the extra table. At 7:15 I asked the girl when do we get seated. Her reply: there is no table available for 6 at the time and she will call us. We have to wait outside. So we all stepped out. Meanwhile people kept on coming. By 7:30 I went in again. A guy asked me if I had reservation? I told him I do have the reservation Under Victoria for 6 at 6:45 and the lady had left, I don’t see her around. She went on her break, I was told. I didn’t feel arguing in front of my family so I said: Just seat us anywhere cause it was getting late. Total wait time was 50 minutes to get a table, although I had a reservation.
Price of food and bar is much higher at the dining room than the cantina.
That’s how they take advantage of people.
Service was so bad we left. Called three days ahead, was advised to make a reservation so we could have a Window seat overlooking the water. Did exactly that. Arrived early. They didn't have one open. No problem - how long would the wait be? "No idea, talk to my manager" and walked off. Decided to eat somewhere else.
Waiter was great but where they sat us was near to carts of left overs and smelled bad. I had a reservation and a table wasn't ready until much later
The waiter took for ever to give us our chips and drinks the food was good but the costumer service was wack. Also I had requested for Freddy as my waiter cuz he has very good customer service I never have no issues with him and they gave me another one and he was very slow he forgot about our orders and drinks often
We used to have dinner at Chevy's frequently, when our kids were small, as it was a place where we could feel comfortable with young children and the food was predictable - but good. Our twins are now grown, but we decided to give the Emeryville restaurant a try, as our local Chevy's closed several years ago. It was disappointing. It took almost 20 minutes for a waiter to acknowledge our presence and bring chips and water. Few busboys on duty. After ordering two margaritas, we were told that my wife's margarita had to be 'on the rocks' as their blender was broken. Really? Chevy's can't make a blended margarita on a Saturday night? Finally, our food order was wrong. Service was frankly atrocious, and we won't go back to this restaurant.
It was OK didn’t like the fact that we were in the patio and there was a large party and I had two kids with me the language was inappropriate at times for my kids but other than love the food love the
We did not stay. The outdoor patio was closed.
The service was very slow the food was okay . I ask the host sir the water she said no sir have. Room had reservations. They sit by the. Door super cold. Host did not greeting us when walk in.
Had a 7pm reservation wasn’t seated until 7:40 after having to ask several times. One of the hostesses was very rude. Sat down and didn’t order until 820 by 910 we still had no food and had just got our first drinks (melted margaritas) . I love Chevys but they have really changed
Our server, Alex, was EXCEPTIONAL. He was very attentive which really made our Girl's Night Out memorable especially since we hadn't seen each other (in person) since February 2020.
The food is FANTASTIC, same with atmosphere and service
Food was great. But service was slow. Took about 15 min for us to get drinks.
Checks is one of our other favorites to grab a bite to eat! Unfortunately this time the food was subpar , dry and just not good. Salsa was even watered down no flavor at all! I was surprised honestly as I’ve never had a bad experience here in all my years of coming. It was disappointing. Waitress was nice , tried to be attentive.
Enjoyed our meal sitting outside on the patio and look forward to returning soon.
It was very good. We had steak fajitas. We sat outside on the patio by the water.
Qué tal amigos mi experiencia fue muy buena como siempre pero hubo algo que no me pareció a mi gusto que dejaran entrar mascotas creo que su prestigio es primero espero tengan más cuidado en esos detalles gracias
The restaurant did not have a reservation even though we booked via OpenTable we had to wait an hour to be seated and the general manager refused to speak to us and was very rude and refused to see us for the first 30 45 minutes.
Different food variety especially side an costumers is right all the time couldn’t get to change order
Food was very salty.
Had a blast yesterday the food was delicious the drinks are the best and Freddy was very professional and attended us great he made sure we had everything we ordered and that it was correct I totally recommend this place
Service was sub par. I specifically asked for my order to go 30 minutes prior to receiving it. I even reminded our server, yet it came out on a plate. I kindly asked our server if the kitchen would box it in which I was told no.
They need lots of waiters there service is very slow
The Emeryville location is my favorite! The food is consistently good and the service was very good. My only issue is they should clean the large window looking out to the water, other than that it’s great!
Chevy's was very good about our reservation. Took us on time.
I didn't like my dish and my server removed it. My drink was really good! Their service was good, food was just okay for me.
Food was good. Server was great and food was brought out in a timely matter. Bathroom was messy and someone had messed up the floor of one of the stalls. Made staff aware of that.
Girl at the front desk was lack luster, hard to understand and hear and didn’t communicate clearly.
Beautiful View! And if you have such an asset ro your restaurant you should make sure the windows are clean and sparkly!!
There is not enough waiters there
The service is horrible. They take forever in bringing our food
When it arrived it was cold
service was terrible we waited so long after reservation time to be seated and they acted like the never checked us in the drink i had was sent back twice because it was nasty, not saying that wont be back but NO TIME soon
The poor waitress was too busy. But the whole place was busy and understaffed. Completely understand due to the situation. We will always be back.
good drinks, decent food portions. parking difficult.
The waiter was rude but the food was good
The hostess was super rude and everyone around noticed, even coworkers. But Hector, our waiter’s great attitude made up it times ten!
Sunday lunchtime extremely long wait time for server to take order and food to be served. yikes- about 2 hour 15 min total time at restaurant for party of 3
Great drinks, food is fairly good. Definitely recommend the mango margarita.
