OK, not great. Was hoping it was going to be a fine dining establishment, but just does not measure up.
Great restaurant, in all respects. Server (Janice) was outstanding, food was excellent, and they allow you to order "half plates" of many entrees in the event you don't want or need a full-sized serving. (Useful since their serving sizes are not small.)
Really like this place. Was our first time there, but now plan to repeat on regular basis.
An unpretentious, comfortable, restaurant with a great menu and consistent, quality food.
I had the beef filet tips and my husband had grilled shrimp. Both were delicious!
Our evening out began with a very favorable impression of the facility. We continued to be impressed with the friendly manners and efficient service by our server, Joe. He knew his stuff and the menu. Our meal was quite enjoyable. both in timeliness and quality, until a family with very noisy and rowdy small children was seated next to our table. At that point our pleasant dining experience came to an end. We asked Joe to bring carryout boxes and we left in disgust.
A restaurant of this quality and reputation should discourage and deny families with small children or provide separate and isolated dining areas for them.
I'm not sure we will return despite our initial favorable impressions. I am reluctant to pay for first class and have to ride tourist.
My husband and I LOVE Chestnut Hill! We ate there 3 times last week while we were on vacation! We love talking to Emmie when she is working. Michael, Nick and Arta are fantastic servers! The food is delicious! You won’t be disappointed!
My wife’s meal was partially good but part was not very good and in fact, she had to send it back because of taste. They did offer her something else but it didn’t chance the fact she didn’t get to taste what she wanted to. The vegetables were over cooked. My meal was good, steak cooked just right and taste fine. Vegetables were also over cooked and not eatable.
From the perfectly prepared Manhattan, the superb She-crab soup, the great seafood platter(great flounder) and the amazing strawberry shortcake, this was a wonderful dinner. Our server was professional and anticipated all of our needs before we had a chance to ask. 10 on a scale of 10...wish we had a chance to return before leaving...
I had a light with black and flounder dish. Unfortunately, it was not cooked in the middle and had to be returned. I prefer my vegetables to be crunchy rather than mushy and I found their vegetables to be extremely mushy. On the server brought my fish back out it had new vegetables on the plate which were much more crunchy than the previous plate. My husband had the scallops and so they were okay but just okay. We both felt that they're just wasn't enough seasoning on any of the food. I'm not talking about salt. We are not fans of salt. This was pretty much our experience three years ago and we thought we'd try them again.
We go there a few times a year. The food is good, service is good and it’s a nice place with a pretty view of the water.
This was our first disappointing experience at Chestnut Hill.
The salmon on our salmon Hemingway was burned and the pasta had a weird taste. Don’t know what was going on. Manger was nice and gave us half off our entree. We will try again Though as this is my favorite dish. Still a great place to dine. Service and atmosphere great.
Good food, great server. Worth visiting again.
We sat lakeside and enjoyed watching the birds and turtles. Adult beverages were great. Dinners were fair. Flounder filet was overcooked. Vegetables were southern style (overcooked), but everything else was done properly. Our waiter was very personable and attentive.
Broiled seafood platter both small and regular were good but a little over seasoned (blackened) the crab cake could have used more crab. Sirloin Tips were excellent and fork tender seasoned perfectly, veal Neptune was very tasty but lacked crabmeat. Overall very satisfied
Very good experience. Prompt and friendly service and the eggplant parmigiana was excellent! Great prices in wine too!
Only average food and not as high as expected.
We had a wonderful experience. The food, service and ambiance were all excellent. We will be sure to go back on our next trip to Myrtle Beach.
Excellent value. Very dated decor, but good food and service.
The food was ok but nothing special. We asked for a medium and a medium well steak. We got medium well and well done. It was an ok experience but lacked anything special. We would not go back there again. Portions were sparse and desert was disappointing.
Appreciated that the restaurant offered smaller portions of most entrees, especially since the entrees included a salad and 2 choices of sides.
Great server, atmosphere and outstanding food. Overall a great evening.
We were only in town for a week. Found Chestnut Hill on day 3 and went back on day 6. They are so good at everything that makes dining " fine dining". Highly recommended
We love Chestnut Hill! We have been going there for years and the food and service are always extremely wonderful!! This wasn’t our first time and definitely won’t be out last! As a former concierge in the area, this was a TOP recommendation from me. As a local we keep going back!!
Birthday, good serving and food. It was not a long wait from sit down to service. This is good considering the labor shortages. Overall good experience
Food and service were both excellent enjoyed the atmosphere
We go at least once while we are on vacation one of our favorite places!
2 out of 3 dinners were so so. The other was very good. There was a lot of food. Service was great
Loved the view here. Excellent service. Food was very good and we are very picky eaters
Delicious fresh catch of the day. The portion was generous.
This is our favorite Restaurant In myrtle beach by far.
The meal and service were impeccable! Would recommend to anyone. Thanks for an outstanding meal.
Good broiled seafood platter that was easily enough for 2 people
Everything was awesome. We loved it had not been in years but will be going back again
Wonderful dining experience. Joseph our server was wonderful and exceeded all our expectations. The food was delicious and prepared very well. Very good dining experience.
Great place to celebrate our 44th Anniversary
Great customer service from Scarlet and food was delicious and good view of the water
This is one of Myrtle Beaches hidden gems. The food and service are top notch.
Great food and service
The epitome of excellent food and service. They accommodated our table request and our server Joseph was fantastic! Our steaks and shrimp were cooked perfectly. This will be our definite go-to restaurant anytime we are in Myrtle Beach. I would highly recommend!!
So the customer service was excellent and the atmosphere was very nice. Now for their prices there should options for sides. Everyone should be able to pick out their own sides. The only sides were potatoes and veggies. Which were just ok. And the salad had no cheese, croutons, or bacon bits… now again for these prices it should be fully loaded. The salad had tomatoes carrots and cranberries the only good thing was the homemade ranch dressing. I got the lobster casserole and it was delicious. My husband liked his fried shrimp. But the best part was the strawberry shortcake. And they gave me the dessert for my birthday. The overall experience was good
