It was great! Good food! Great service!
Excellent food! Service was also very good. Would not hesitate to comeback.
Good, not great. Still one of the better spots in MB.
All aspects of our experience were excellent. Our server (sadly can’t recall her name) extended us her southern hospitality and kindness. Would highly recommend and will be back!
Food quality just aberahe
This is an old supper club. Two older people greeted us and talked to my 10 year old daughter like she was a granddaughter. They were amazing. The food was probably the best I have ever had. I got the salmon hemmingway and my daughter and husband got a filet. Their's was also amazing. I made another reservation for before we leave. This is a must if you travel to Myrtle Beach and want a great dinner.
The food was very good and the service was great. Nice place to eat if you enjoy quiet dining without all the tourists.
Service was outstanding and the food was fantastic.
Watching the alligators and turtles was so much fun while waiting on food! Their food was plentiful and tasteful! We truly enjoyed our experience!
Our waiter, Chris, was great. We loved the biscuits, dinners and dessert. Looking forward to our next dining experience!
Delicious food and friendly staff
Great food and overall service. Went there twice in a week. First experience was the best and the second time was good but server was a little slow moving and not very attentive.
Excellent food and service. Loved sitting by the window and watching the turtles and alligators being fed. We will definitely be back and we keep a note of all the good restaurants in Myrtle Beach
Wanted to dine here because we used to come here every year- in the past. The fried oysters and fisherman’s platter were very good and would recommend. Our server Ashley was new and did a very good job waiting on us even though they were short on staff. The sides to our entrees were solid- boiled red skins and veggies were yummy. Overall, would go back. I would have rated the ambiance better but they seated us in a back corner which was the only negative.
We had a very nice dinner at Chestnut Hill. The food and service were exceptional. This is a must dine while in the area. You won't be disappointed.
In response to the management message, we feel that just being in business in a high vacation area is not the definition of success. We have been in your area for 7 years and there ARE restaurants that provide excellent service and deliciously consistent food. So, as stated we are entitled to our opinion. ORIGINAL REVIEW ……. Started out ok. Had coupon for appetizer so ordered bacon wrapped scallops and house chips. Both were good. Salads ok. Odd additions of dried cranberries and banana pepper rings. But ok. Now comes the good part. Asked server if tuna was sushi grade. Didn’t know so ordered that cooked well. Was supposed to be served with lemon butter sauce. Redskin potatoes came out with a side of gravy that was from a packet. Vegetables mushy. So where is lemon butter sauce? Server said the brown sauce was it……THAT WAS GRAVY! But instead of just bringing put some drawn butter to make the tuna edible she insisted the brown goop was it. Ok. The salmon was good served with red skins and brown goopy gravy and mushy veggies. The fried flounder served with skin on it as was the broiled flounder. Not very good. The veal neptune platter was awful. Veal was not edible and the sauce not good either. Kids pizza was weird concoction of mixed cheese and a bunch of seasonings. Best part was the bill. Split and no appetizer credit for Coupon. Sat and Waited over 15 minutes and my son Got a call from credit card company the restaurant hit his bill 4 times for Half the bill and once for full bill!!!! So he is dealing with around $675 hold on card. Who knows what will post. Our credit card dinged a few times and the bill finally arrived with my husband paying full bill on his card with not even full credit for appetizer. So this was our second and now FINAL VISIT TO this restaurant. Drinks and appetizers place. Do NOT try dinner here expensive and below average quality of food.
Thank you for taking the time to express how awful your dining experience was here. We are all trying to do our very best but unfortunately we did not do our best for you & your family and I apologize for that. We have not been in business since 1987 because we provide awful food and service, but everyone is entitled to their own opinion of what they consider to be good or bad. It's a shame that we will lose you as our customer but we will take this criticism and move forward. Kindly, GM
Vacation. July 4th dinner
Our dinner at Chestnut Hill was fantastic. The food was delicious, the servers were friendly and the atmosphere was very relaxing. Truly the best meal and venue we enjoyed on our beach vacation.
We booked on open table for 7:30pm reservation, arrived and were asked to wait. We waited for over 30 minutes to be seated. Waiting area was crowded with a small outdated couch and chair. In fact the whole restaurant could use a refresh of the decor.
Food was pretty good, kids enjoyed their pasta and we all enjoyed the bread basket they brought over. But my meal although the meat was well cooked did not give a choice of potatoe or veggie nor even dressing on my salad.
My husband had the signature dish salmon Hemingway and it was bathed in too much cream sauce. Dessert was ok, but the brownie was too dry and the ice cream portion out of proportion being too little. The derby pie was dry and the key lime pie was too creamy with not enough lime. Overall we enjoyed ourselves and the service was friendly and attentive. My son enjoyed looking out the window to see a crocodile swimming by.
Bow fishing food and service was spectacular. Love the view of the lake
First time visit, great view of the water and wild life. Wonderful food and good service. We will add to our places to visit when we are staying at our home in North Myrtle Beach.
Vacation, we have beee. Coming here for years
Food was adequate. Nice view in the lake. Martinis were good
Booked a reservation and still had to wait 25 minutes along with others who came in with reservations and they also had to wait. Service and food was average.
Wonderful food and service!
Very good food, the scallops were great! Service was ok new person but she did well highly recommend the visit.
Made a late reservation to the restaurant…location was great, view was spectacular and the server, while busy, was still great (thanks Selina)! The food was hit or miss…the fried shrimp was great, but the Alaskan crab legs were eh for the price…the side items potatoes and veggies we a little too al dente…salads and rolls were fabulous. If it were priced less, it wouldn’t have been so much of a shock…but for the price paid, I definitely had higher expectations.
Food was great
Food did not disappoint took friends for their first visit they were impressed with food and service.
Veal was not good everyone else seafood and steaks were good. Oyster Rockefeller were very good.
I waited a while to write this review because I wasn’t exactly sure what I wanted to say. The food was fine, but the main issue I had was several diners at adjacent tables had complaints about their orders. I didn’t seem to experience any problems but others seem to have an extraordinarily long wait for their food. With so many restaurants in the Myrtle Beach area, this is probably one I want revisit.
Food and service both were excellent. Did not disappoint in any way.
Great food, and quiet atmosphere.
Food was superb. Wait staff engaging. Atmosphere welcoming. Overall wonderful experience. We are repeat visitors.
Much needed time with my adult daughters! Great food and service! They also did a great job with my gluten-free needs!
Michael was a fabulous server!
We try to visit Chestnut Hill each time we are in Myrtle Beach. The service and the food never disappoint.
Food was extremely expensive for a buffet and the hostess was somewhat rude when I walked in. Also, our waitress seemed a little overworked but that was expected since they were short staffed and it was Mother's Day. Other than that, we enjoyed the overall experience and loved the scenery and antique vibe.
Hometown buffet quality with 4x the price.
