Went for a friend's 55th birthday. The only weak spot was the food and not all of it just seemed to be the main dishes. We ordered the Grilled Lamb chops (which were cooked perfectly) the Ribeye which was very rare when ordered med-rare and it would have probably been fine but it wasn't the greatest cut. Third we ordered the Branzino(seabass) and it was a touch dry but it was good fish. Otherwise, the appetizers, deserts were delicious, the ambiance was warm and comfortable and the service was very attentive. Also the cost was substantial and that's why I probably was a bit more picky. If you're gonna pay that much it should be close to flawless:)

What a fantastic restaurant! The ambience on the back porch was so lovely. The service was outstanding from every person we interacted with— from hostess, to server to bus people. And our food was excellent. Extra shout out to our server Melissa, she went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience. 5 stars all around.

What a fantastic experience for our Mother's day brunch (party of 7). Beautiful table "inside" (it was actually outside under a terrific awning on the side), lively 80's music, terrific food and great service from Melissa - a wonderful time for us all!

We came here for Mother's Day brunch and had a terrible time. We had previously made a reservation for 10:00 a.m. which is the opening time for the restaurant. We were seated at a really randomly placed table in the middle of the outdoor patio, whereas all the other tables were booths lined up around the perimeter. So we instead asked to be seated at one of the more comfortable booths, and were very rudely told we could not sit there because it was reserved. But we had also made a reservation for 4 in advance, so there was literally no difference. It's not like we randomly showed up and wanted to sit anywhere we wanted. We planned this meal in advance. What is worse, for the entirety of our breakfast, 2 hours, the table we were told we couldn't sit at remained empty. So the hostess was incredibly rude for no reason whatsoever. The food is insanely overpriced and sadly was not good. Not a single person in our party liked their meal. The eggs Benedict was universally disliked and the Shakshouka was weirdly sour. We eat these dishes all the time elsewhere and they're not supposed to taste like that. All in all, we will not return to this establishment. On top of everything, it took almost an hour to get our food. The only initial upside was that they accepted reservations, but I would rather have waited in line for better, kinder service and better food. Skip this place: there are other places that are managed and operated better. This place needs a major overhaul.

CPL is beautiful. The atmosphere and ambiance was truly outstanding. However, our server was slow and rarely paid us any attention; blaming it on being too busy with other tables. The food quality was average, although the artistry was nice. We asked for a kids menu, and although not available, our server told us of kids options. It wasn’t until later, when the bill arrived, that our “kids burger” was $30! We spoke to management, who gave us a 20% on the burger. Adding to the dismay, there was a 4% surcharge on the bill - with no prior notice, and no explanation as to why. For our family, the bill was exorbitant and I still can’t understand what we paid for - nothing too special, that’s for sure!

This place exceeded my expectations. Took my mom here on Mother’s Day and I’m so glad I chose this place for the occasion. A very good dating spot as well. Food was great, service was fast, and they accommodated seating us where we preferred. Live music was so chill and not loud so we could hear each other talk. Would go again!

Fantastic brunch experience. We were the first in, so I imagine it might get a little noisier when full. The food was extremely tasty and the presentation definitely a cut above. Service was excellent: friendly but not cloying.

Liked the food but service was lacking. Sat there for 20 mins before waiter came over brought glasses for water but no water had to ask. All tables had water bottles but had to ask to leave bottle. Once order was placed things moved along well.

We were here on a Friday night and it wasn't very busy. The food here was good but a little pricey. The portion size was large in general. The wine cost was quite high. Bottle prices run 4-500% of the retail price. The surprise was that they charge an additional $4 per person surcharge I saw on the bill at the end. They also automatically add the gratuity to the bill. The service was good so I didn't mind that and the server pointed it out on the bill. All things added up I won't return.

First time visiting. Lovely vibes. Was there on a Sunday, DJ was spinning. Outside seating avail. Weekends complimentary mimosa bar. First round on them. Food is good. Pricey but portions are good. Downside: no kids menu and they also do not have jelly/jam. Lol. Weird, but it's not an option.

My family and I celebrated Easter at this restaurant. Ambiance was great, we did not feel rushed whatsoever considering it was a holiday. Food was delicious! I definitely Want to go back and listen to the live music during the week.

We started with a small party and kept increasing the number of guests. They were very accommodating. Our table was ready as soon as we arrived. Our server was very kind and friendly, helped with a few suggestions and was very liked by all our group. The food was excellent, tasty, good portions and wry pleasing to the eye. I recommend the Supreme French Toast.

The staff were lovely... that said... Serenaded by the techno sounds of a bad wedding DJ desperately trying to audibly assault everyone into leaving the party, the reliably mediocre cuisine at Chess Lounge will leave you disappointed in your life decisions that have led you to this moment, and the prices will gaslight you into thinking the kitchen has *any* concept of spice or culinary art (because no one in their right mind would think an entree so bland could be worth $100). If Chat GPT were tasked with creating what a TGI Fridays might taste like in a dystopian future where flavor is outlawed, I would still prefer to exist in that world than dine here again. If you've ever fallen in a dirty river and accidentally ingested the water, congrats; you've experienced the delight that is a Chess Park Lounge cocktail. For those who enjoy overpriced food and underdelivered cuisine and drinks, like whatever has fallen on the floor of a Vegas casino, then this is the restaurant for you.

Love Chess Park! Classy, chic, and cool without pretentiousness. The food is always excellent, as is the service. We totally dig the outdoor patio where they have really good DJs spinning the perfect soundtrack. It’s the hidden secret in Glendale.

At atmosphere and location of the place are great. Food was good but is definitely a little over priced for what you receive. Host check-in was great but service at the bar and our waitress were lacking as we waited over 5min to be served at the bar and were the only ones sitting there at the time. Ran out of water and drinks and had a hard time flagging down anyone for service.

The food was terrific and for that reason we would give this place another try. We were seeing a show across the street and had 1 1/2 hours before the show started to enjoy our meal. Our meal didn’t arrive at our table until 10 minutes before we had to leave. We were NOT happy. Come on kitchen, get it together!

Walter and Oscar, we are exceptionally good. Professional, courteous and we're friendly. They are an asset to the restaurant. Not forgetting the fabulous DJ made the afternoon fun. Great selection of music he played.

Love this place which I found by accident in February. Presentation of cocktails is always different and fun. We shared a Watermelon Salad and a pasta dish and prepped by sharing the popcorn shrimp appetizer. Loved everything except the Watermelon salad, which was not a salad, just, well, watermelon with feta cheese sprinkled on top. Next time and there will be a next time, I'll try the roasted beet salad and any appetizer that's special that night. Live music is a sweet addition. Go there.

Food was below average. It looked verter than it taste. Steak and eggs were ok. French toast was below average. The ahi was good. Halibut tacos was good except for the salsa it was accompanied with. Clam Chowder was awful. Most likely the worst chowder I have had
