Cherry is a unique restaurant that offers Japanese dishes that have a heavy French influence for a completely new taste. Sake Sommelier Chris Johnson offers about 80 sake variations every night. Explore new tastes with a Cherry signature dish, such as the tuna tart with creamy ponzu, red onion and white truffle oil or perhaps the almond shrimp with toasted almonds and sudachi vinaigrette or even the black cod shumai with squid, shrimp, black garlic and scallion. There are also soups and salads like cucumber and tomato, seaweed salad or warm mushroom salad to choose from. Other unique menu items include steak au poivre, grilled squid, fried chicken negimaki, along with innovative sushi and rolls.

The waitress for our table is not that good, we order the sushi omakase, but they served us sushi and sashimi combination, and we don't wanna change cause it'll be wasting the food.

As always, Cherry didn't dissapoint. Creative fusion at its best. Don't miss the tuna crispy rice...ever. Amazing evening!

Great Place and good food. Very well presented with good choices of wine. A bit dark but creates an amazing vibe. Fancy couches and comfortable to sit on. Overall a good recommendation for people visiting new york. Can be used mostly for dates not for meetings with clients.

This was my second time visiting Cherry. Pretty much the polar opposite of last night. On my first experience, the food was cooked perfectly and was delicious. The service, however, was extremely slow and pretentious. This time around, the service was very friendly all around and each course came out very quickly. The food was a different story. Our fish and rice dishes were overcooked and not as tasty as last time. The place was more crowded overall. After our recent experience, I am hesitant to come back here considering the sky high prices. Though, the ambiance is really nice so I would give it another try but it wouldn't be on the top of my list.

Maybe it was because we were not drinking and spending too much, but all of the servers basically ignored us. It took about 15 minutes after we had clearly finished our food for anyone to come over and remove the plates. The bread pudding dessert was truly delicious though!

Went here for Restaurant Week dinner. I had the miso soup (good), the tuna crisp (very good), sushi and sashimi (very good), sea bass (excellent), and dessert (good). Service is friendly but slow and inattentive. However, it is a bar and restaurant so the vibe is fun and relaxed.

I had been recommended to try Cherry by a few friends. One specifically said it was his favorite restaurant in NYC, however he said it had slow service. He stated if it had better service he'd go there all the time. I agree, the food was absolutely amazing, however we did not get seated till about an hour after our reservation time! Other than that, everything was perfect! Great server, great food, great decor, loved it!

Weird, creepy ambience. Lousy, slow, uninformed and unintelligent service. Expensive, too. The best thing this place has going for it is the lovely hotel staff who graciously directed us down to the air-less, subterranean restaurant. Oh, and the dessert was good.

I've walked past Cherry a number of times, not knowing what kind of restaurant lay behind the hidden, dark doors. As it turns out, a fantastic Japanese/French fusion restaurant with lush decor and fantastic food. Our waiter was attentive, recommending a dish we would have missed (and loved more than what we originally ordered). When my girlfriend requested jalapeño for the tequila she ordered, he returned with a jalapeño/agave mix that was just perfect. The ambiance is great for a date or special occasion, and seems large enough for groups. Because it's hidden away subsurface, down a flight of stairs, your friends will think you're in the know for finding it. A little expensive for the amount of food plated, but this kind of restaurant is more for an experience than value anyhow, so that's not a turnoff. Seating for two was a little tight, next to other patrons (despite a an abundance of available seating). We were lucky in that our neighbors made an appetizer recommendation to us, and we appreciated the input. Great experience, definitely recommended.

Always best to go during a weeknight to avoid the long waits for tables here! Always a great experience dining here, and this time did not disappoint. Always recommend the unique and superb menu to anyone I could. This time the Lobster Roll really hit the spot.
