What Insiders Are Saying
The next time you find yourself wanting red meat in Greenpoint, direct yourself to Cherry Point.
Food was disappointing unfortunately. We were rooting for this neighborhood place but inconsistent food (compared to past times visited) and very very salty. Don’t think we’ll be returning.
Had a lovely meal at Cherry Point last night. Everyone from the hostess to the servers was super pleasant, and the restaurant has a lovely, comfortable vibe. Our server, Devon, was amazing--friendly, helpful (when we couldn't decide on drinks, he brought tastes to help us make the decision), available but not hovering. And, the food was spectacular. The oysters with rosemary hollandaise were spectacular, as were the pate, lamb ribs, and tartare. We almost never order dessert, but were so excited about the food, we splurged, and weren't disappointed.
Truly a gem, and very well priced. We'll be back.
Enjoyed our night out at Cherry Point. Every thing we tried was very tasty. The steak tartare and duck were standouts, but the other 3 dishes were very good as well. Loved the affordable wine list. So many choices around $50, it’s a no brainer on whether I’ll be back.
Great vibe. Interesting and inventive dishes. Very delicious. Wonderful place. Great drinks too! Loved it.
Food was outstanding ! We literally tried every dish on the menu, and we enjoyed every single one. A very decent wine list, with plenty of options for reasonably priced bottles. Will come back !!!
Food and atmosphere was outstanding. We had the nicest waitress who knew her stuff. The food was interesting and well made. It is not a huge menu but it was varied and there was something for all the members of our group. We also enjoyed the wine list. We will definitely go back.
High marks across the board. Smart attentive servers who really know and understand what this chef is putting out but also savvy on the specialty cocktails (which are on the small side but cost less).
The food is just fantastic. Though it is a meat centric and hearty meal. There is nothing we ordered on the menu that I wouldn’t love to order again.
The room is rustic gastro-pub casual and comfortable.
Amazing sourdough bread also coming out of this kitchen grilled and crackling!
My partner took me for my birthday and we had the 4 course Game and Beef Dinner. The chef, Ed had previously cooked at The Beatrice Inn where we celebrated last year and had a great meal so I was looking forward to it.
And he did not disappoint!
The food was awesome. Delicious, well prepared and presented, and generously apportioned. I’ve seen others complain about stingy plates; I mean, really?! Beef tartare piled high on a 5 inch square, inch and a half thick piece of sourdough toast isn’t enough? Please.
Another stand-out was the accompaniment to the pheasant and bacon pie: a pot of silky potato purée topped with a hunk of marrow which as you stir melts into swirls of beefy unctuousness. Now that’s meat and potatoes!
The sticky toffee pudding is delicious, dark and rich, but the perfect dessert for such a meal is the posset.
Custard and citrus suprêmes with pieces of vanilla bean merengue broken over. all to be stirred together in a kaleidoscope of flavors and textures.
All in all, the perfect birthday dinner!
Our new favorite brunch place! The space itself was very pleasant as were the servers. We were 4 & ordered a lot of food. It was all delicious & I can hardly wait to go back & order some other dishes to taste!
Amazing food! Nice setting.
Skate wing was out on Sunday dinner. Otherwise it was excellent.
Amazing food and beautiful space, the glazed lamb ribs where exceptional. We’ll definitely be back.
Overpriced underwhelming food. We were seated in the back near the kitchen and smelled gas through much of the meal.
Perfect. Attentive, knowledgeable and kind servers. Spectacular food and wine were spectacular (the rib eye and smoked whitefish dip were standouts). Love this place.
Great food and service, even on Valentines Day which can always be hit and miss at a restaurant. Great cocktails, wine, and a delicious burger.
Truly wonderful experience! Amazing service, food ambiance!
Fabulous brunch! Always make this a weekend plan when in Greenpoint/Williamsburg!
Was very impressed with this restaurant overall. We had the steak for two . One of the best steaks we have had in quite some time. It outshined any of the local steak houses. It is served with bone marrow. An absolute great pairing. The salad and desert were also great. The wait staff was attentive. Completely enjoyed the service. An after dinner cognac that completed the meal so nicely. Looking forward to our next meal there. This is now our neighborhood go to restaurant.
the service was fantastic but I ordered the skate dish and it had a ton of bones. maybe that's the way this fish comes but why choose that fish then? who wants to sit there and pick out bones? my boyfriend ordered the duck, which he loved but food portions were small on both plates. however, the oyster happy hour was great and so was the martini i ordered.
Truly perfect family birthday brunch!
I love this place. The food was good before the new chef and now it’s even better! The meat pie was exceptional. And please keep the sticky toffee pudding forever!
Fabulous, loved the food, people and aesthetic
This is a top dining experience! The food is earthy and sophisticated, with impeccable ingredients. The service is polished but not at all fussy. My favorites were the oysters with a smoked rosemary finish, charcuterie, savory pies (exquisite pastry!) and of course, the modern preparations of meat and bone marrow. The desserts are inventive yet very satisfying: comforting and familiar without being the same old thing. For example the Earl Grey meringue was a great counterpoint to a dessert’s sweetness.
Beyond delicious and super cozy atmosphere. Great drinks list.
Wonderful, as always. One of our favorites. Great drinks, delicious food.
Our meal was amazing! Every aspect of it was enjoyable. We went with the meat (fowl) pie for our main course--so glad that we did. The pie was packed with wonderful flavors--from the filling to the crust. We also enjoyed our starters and desserts (fantastic texture to the quince meringue dish and sticky toffee pudding). The waitstaff was attentive without being intrusive. Definitely a meal we'll remember and a place we would highly recommend.
Great place. Excellent food with really unique and creative offerings. Fun atmosphere. Will definitely come back when in town.
Total all around great experience. Service and food rocked
Very good food, but terrible service. The waiter did not show up at our table until 15 minutes after we sat down and had to be told to do so by a colleague who we flagged down. Also, the prices were pretty high given the amount of food served. I mean, I get that it is a hipster joint in Brooklyn, but only 3 oysters per serving, small strips of duck for the entree and a pretty chintzy charcuterie plate. That said the cheeseburger was amazing, as advertised, along with the pigs head croquettes, but everyone in my party felt a bit disappointed by both the service and overall value...
Very good and so much better than Sauvage where we were served raw pork!
We had a delicious meal. Staff was so friendly and the place was charming but a little tight in space. The food was a bit pricey for brunch but flavor was great.
Superlative food and experience, one of the best restaurants in Brooklyn.
Good food. Slow service. Very loud.
Lovely. Interesting specials. All around fun. We went for a birthday dinner and really enjoyed the experience.
We came for my mom's birthday brunch and enjoyed everything! My mom and I split the Admiral's Board and it was super delicious. The music volume was a little high but the restaurant was cozy, wasn't overly crowded and we didn't feel rushed at all (which is a rare find for Sunday brunch.) The staff members were all very friendly and surprised my mom with birthday desserts which made her feel special. I would definitely come back!
Great food. I would come back anytime.
Delicious meal tonight at Cherry Point, thoroughly enjoyed all of the food, the duck in particular was excellent. Fantastic service from the staff, nice friendly atmosphere in the restaurant, overall a great place for dinner with a group of friends or as a couple.
It was a really lovely place and the food was fantastic. Took a friend's son, who just moved into the neighborhood, for his birthday. We both has a great brunch and Emily was really lovely.
bright, charming space with open kitchen; tight, creative menu; a terrific spot
Fresh oysters (not too briny), amazing steak tartare (not your usual), must-get labna and sumptuous lamb ribs
