   When we arrived, we were ignored by staff and left waiting almost 5 minutes before being shown to our table. Zara tried her best to welcome us but another member of staff was using the booking system so she was unable to use it to know which table we had been allocated. The carvery was ok. Meat portions were small and I received the end bits of the joint and was told it was because that was the last of the gammon (only 2 of the advertised meats were on offer). There was a whole gammon next to the chef but he said he couldn’t use it as he had another 100 people booked in. I was a paying customer and felt my dinner was being rationed for other customers. I believe there was an issue with kitchen staff but the young lad running the carvery was doing his best. We weren’t checked on during our meal nor asked if we would like more drinks. The manager who I believe was called Nicky was persistently rude to member of staff and reprimanded them in front of customers. I had been told to pay at the bar but she thought I was trying to leave without paying. She was just rude our entire stay and has completely put me off from coming again. Zara and Danny were doing a wonderful job and I’m not sure I’d have stayed working there if I’d have been spoken to the way Nicky spoke to them.

   Booked on suggestion of family member after unable to book a table at our usual restaurant and l must say the four of us thoroughly enjoyed our lunch. The menu selection on offer catered for us all and the food was delicious. Our choices selected from the menu: Wild mushroom bourguignon pie with skin- on chips is to die for. Trulli pasta with mozzarella, pesto, and baby spinach very tasty. Beer-battered fish and chips, the fish was delicious Gammon with free range eggs and skin-on chips. The quality of food was excellent, all served hot and couldn't ask for better tasting food. Delighted to have found this gem of a pub/restaurant and will definitely be spreading the word and can't wait to return.

   Food was good and the service was excellent. It was my mums birthday and they went above and beyond to make it special for her. Lovely evening.

   Really lovely evening, we were looked after very well and the food was super. We first visited the week it reopened and I’d say the food was even better this time. Good steak, delicious pork belly and great fish and chips. I had a Mediterranean salad with salmon which was delicious ( only niggle was the olives still have the stones in ) Good choice of food on the menu too. We will definitely be returning.

   If we had known with a dog you had to sit in the bar we would have thought again as we were either offered a table in front of the bar, the bar area or a sofa chair we could not sit on to eat a roast. Previously we would have sat in the conservatory with a dog. Sitting in the bar meant we got no table service and had to queue every time we wanted anything behind lots of people just wanting drinks. We had the same when we wanted a pudding menu and gave up and the same for a second drinks order. My daughters meat also wasn’t good it was all fatty and had to be changed.

   We took my daughter and little grandson and we were looked after very well.Carvery was great and plenty of it.The only thing was I would have preferred the veg to be a little less al dente but thats just my personal preference

    Our first visit back since the new owners have taken over, we were greeted warmly and shown to our table. We already had drinks so the waitress asked what size lunch we wanted and we were handed casino chips with letters on lol. The food was absolutely beautiful lots of selection of veg and 3 types of meat. The actual bar and restaurant is spotless and quirky. We will definitely be back.
