   My daughter and I had a disappointing experience at Luna Beach on New Year's Eve. Our bone marrow and foie gras appetizers were good, although the foie gras was a little lacking in flavor. My daughter's New York Strip was tough and lacked a good sear. It simply was not cooked properly - and I don't mean temperature, I mean technique. She ordered her steak medium rare and it almost was, but it looked like it had been boiled to get there. My lobster thermidor was barely cooked and was raw in several places. The sauce tasted burnt and had none of the flavor you would expect--very bland. A neighboring table sent theirs back for the same reasons, but I stuck it out. We had some red wine which was over-chilled, but that was not a big deal. The side dishes of spinach and lobster mac and cheese saved the experience for us. Both were very nicely prepared and delicious. Service was slow although the venue was not crowded at all. We noticed that other tables were also struggling with the slow service and with poor food quality. I hope that it was just a bad night for the restaurant, but we won't be back to find out.

   Hi ThomasR, thank you for your review and thank you for highlighting some of the weaknesses of our service. Rest assured that we will address each and every issue and we will work hard to be sure that these huge mistakes don't happen again. We take our food and our service very seriously and it literally pains me to have to read how this service went wrong. We have some work to do. We do keep our red wine chilled due to temperature issues in Roatan. Our wine refrigerator is set to 50 degrees F for our reds. We hope to see you again soon and next time we will not disappoint you.

We truly appreciate that you smartly point out what we are trying to achieve, which is the fact that we offer at the Chef's Table what most cannot find on the Island of Roatan. Our USDA Prime and American Wagyu steaks are exceptional and are couple with an extraordinary wine list. Thank you for your business and we hope to see you again very soon.
