Chef's Table at the Edgewater
Some of our recent awards include the Florida Trend Golden Spoon, Orlando Magazine Dining Awards, winning Best Restaurant, Best Kept Secret, Best Wine Pairing Dinner, Most Romantic Rendezvous, and Best Chef's Table. For diners wanting a more casual evening, our lively Tasting Room serves tapas and craft cocktails, and does not require a reservation.
Server was amazing and well mannered.
Great meal but creme brûlée still liquid
The Chef's Table is an excellent place to go for a unique meal that is wonderfully prepared. The waiter takes his time in explaining each of the options on the "tasting menu." There are four appetizers, four main courses and four desserts served on a menu that changes weekly. It was honestly difficult to choose since each option sounded great. We opted for the matching wines and were not disappointed. Expect a very "healthy pour" on each of the wines, which did in fact complement the food! We have not eaten off the "normal" menu, but all the food we had looked and tasted great. The cost is not inexpensive, nor are the dining rooms very plush, but overall the ambiance is nice. Reservations are recommended and we look forward to returning with friends.
Chef's Table is two for two delivering memorable experiences for us on special occasions. Incredibly knowledgeable staff, amazing food, great wine pairings!
Wow...what an experience! When I read the reviews of this gem in Winter Garden downtown... everything was the truth. Service was above and beyond. Taste of the food with the pairings of wine was an excellent choice. Ryan assisted the food journey through out the whole night. Amazing job and definitely will come back again to dive into the art of the creations of the chefs!
Great experience! Went there for our Anniversary and had incredible service! We did the wine paring and the pre fixed menu and every coarse was amazing, I highly recommend this restaurant.
Dishes were average and seemingly uninspired, not bad by any means; just had higher expectations based on reviews.
The meals were very very well prepared, presented and were as great a meal as I(we) have had anywhere (we travel a lot and dine out extensively).
Service was impeccable and very friendly, not stuffy. Ask for Collin.
Tuesday is a great evening to dine at the Chef’s Table . Looking forward to our next visit which hopefully very soon!
This was our first time ever dining with you guys and let me tell you it won’t be the last! The food, drinks, service, and atmosphere was beyond amazing. The waiters knew everything about the menu and could tell you exactly how everything was prepared. The cheese plate was to die for-you HAVE to get it. It’s well worth the money. We can’t wait to come back and will keep telling our friends all about it!
I have eaten at several Chef's Tables including Victoria and Albert's in the Grand Floridian. I would say the food is comparable for a lot less. The service is excellent and the restaurant is quaint. I have dined here for special occasions and just a night out. I have never been disappointed.
Chef's Table is always fantastic on all counts. The food is outstanding, and easily worth the price. If I could eat there twice a week, I would.
Every time better. Icredible. The best restaurant in town
Would not recommend this for foodies, we were disappointed in the food quality. Clearly meant to be a special occasion foodie type experience but fell far short. For three courses the price is $59 a person and a wine pairing is $27 a person. Both would be very reasonable if the quality lived up to the reputation. Having experienced many such dining events, I would expect an amuse bouche, a variety of fresh baked interesting breads with house made spreads, and something special in terms of presentation. In this case, no amuse bouche which is pretty much standard practice for any remotely upscale dining experience, the bread was one tasteless light wheat bake and serve roll with butter, and no little extras-- for example the pistachio creme brulee in a nice restaurant would maybe come with fresh pistachios, a homemade cookie on the side-- or often a complimentary post desert like house made truffles would be served-- none of those special touches, just a standard creme brulee, quite bland and heavy. My house specialty mushroom torte tasted like it had been pre-made for quite a while and very slightly heated in the microwave. The description had me envisioning melting cheese down the side on soft buttery layers of crepes not what appeared to be heavy tortillas with congealed cheese barely warmed on top. My husband paid the $8 upgrade for the foie gras but it was so sweet he could barely eat it. My fish was slightly overcooked and did not come out just as it is finished as you would get in a fine restaurant but room temperature. The service was a bit odd. They definitely took time to discuss preparation in detail but the two waiters serving six tables used exactly the same memorized phrases that made the presentation seem canned, yet gave completely different specials and ingredients. The wine pairing worked though not of excellent quality or interesting vintage. Overall just not delivering on the promise of a special occasion dining experience.
We love this place.. Food is always amazing. The staff is very well trained on the knowledge of what they are serving. They have deli GF options...even bread. The wine paring is pretty cool, I always thought that was just something they made up, BUT after the experience! I lOVE IT!!
I have had the luxury of dining in very nice restaurants from New Orleans to NYC. I have experienced great food and service in so many places. I can say without a doubt, Chef's Table has beaten them all. It is hard to believe this gem sits in Winter Garden and I will put it up against any restaurant in Orlando for food and service.
Upon entering I was surprised as the entry is into a bar area with throngs of people. But, that is not where you shall dine. You are guided by a very gracious hostess to a dining room in the back near the kitchen. (You can peek in and watch) It is set up mainly for couples or parties of 4. Maybe 8-10 tables tops. You are quickly greeted by your chef who will go over the limited prix fixe menu in great detail through each course and offering. If you were not hungry, you will be now. They have a great list of wines and crafted cocktails for your liking. I would suggest doing the wine pairing as again, you get attentive service and explanations of the wines and why they are paired.
The atmosphere is wonderful for special occasions, but still casual, as it was our wedding anniversary. I could not have been more surprised and pleased with every aspect of the evening. We enjoyed the beet salad, mushroom torte, smoked chops and the filet. For dessert we sampled the sorbet and the bread pudding made from donuts. Oh wow!!!! Nothing on the menu seemed drab at all and we left with our hunger completely satiated. I would list this place as a must try, and I can assure you it will be visited more as the menu does change to seasons.
I don’t even know what to say! I’ve been to the tasting room a few times and loved it. The chefs table was an experience that took me to a new level of happiness. Every bite was out of this world and every dish was loaded with a major wow factor. The cheese platter was one of the best and the foie gras was life changing and available on the tasting room menu. The lamb and filet were to die for and it would take me a month to describe the broccoli and mashed potatoes as they may have been the star of the show. I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone as it’s the best restaurant in Greater Orlando!!
Having been impressed with this restaurant since it's opening, I am always wondering whether it will continue to provide the level of experience when I return. It has just celebrated it's 10th anniversary, so THAT is the answer to my expectation! Kevin and Laurie set the bar high and continue to deliver exceptional service and food!
Very good food and service, we will be back. Wine pairing was a good value.
We went to an early sitting at 5:30, as we were one of the first ones, we were provided impeccable service, the menu was explained in explicit detail and we were given enough time to make our selections. My wife also had their wine selections which she enjoyed on each course.
The appetizers, main courses and deserts were excellent, she concentrated on beef and I went with seafood. Everything was delicious.
The ambiance leaves a little to be desired as the seating is about in the kitchen. There is a regular restaurant out front, it was busy and the waiters and waitresses pass thorough the Chef's Table to access the kitchen.
We would definitely go back again. We normally eat in the regular restaurant area and the food is also excellent.
Celebrated my Birthday at Chef's Table. We had the prefixed menu and Jeff was amazing! I had the Tuna Poke and the fish while the lady had foie gras and pork chop. My girlfriend is a pretty conservative eater but Jeff told her she would not regret the foie gras and he was correct! He brought a bit of wine to swish in our mouth and the foie gras just dissolved. The service and timing was just perfect between courses and the wine selection was great! Will definitely come again when they change their menu again so we can try new item!
Look if you want to floor your date, just go here. Order a cheese board. It’s not hard
Great ambience, friendly staff. Waiter knew menu very well. Food was incredible. Wine pairings were perfect. For this level of world class cuisine also very reasonably priced.
We requested a quiet table and were seated as such in the back by the wine racks which worked perfectly for our conversation needs. It was a little on the cool side which is good for wine, but not two of our 80+ year old guests (I’d recommend most Floridians bring a sweater/jacket in case;)
We did the prix fixe option which still had several nice options.
The mushroom torte appetizer was a big hit for the mushroom fans of our group.
We tried the rack of lamb, grouper, and filet, and all were prepared exactly to order and with exceptional flavor.
The pistachio brûlée was unique and tasty, but the coffee and donut bread pudding received slightly better reviews.
My only desire would have been a pure chocolate option as the only thing close was the bread pudding which had espresso chocolate ice cream.
I tried the wine pairing option and the sommelier created some nice pairings I might not have otherwise tried. All were a perfect match for the food; I am not a big port fan, but it was more smooth than others had before.
Overall it was a very nice atmosphere for old friends to re-acquaint and enjoy a very nice meal together. It is not inexpensive, and obviously has limited options due to prix fixe, but as long as you know that going in, it will be a flavorful culinary adventure.
Our meal was very fine: nothing that you would find at typical restaurants. Our server, Ryan, was attentive and gave us detailed information about each course so that we were able to choose items to suit our individual pallets. I required a dessert that was low in sugar so they were able to substitute a lovely bowl of fruit for me. We will return for sure.
One of the best overall restaurants in town. Great food and wine. They went the extra mile.
I have been back several times and will continue to go. The food is great, the service friendly and knowledgeable, and the prices are very reasonable
This was our 2nd visit to Chef’s Table. We love it! Great dining experience!
Wonderful celebration for 2 on our 30th anniversary. Had been trying to get into Victoria & Alberts for two years for our anniversary. This year we were on a wait list & did get a call with an opening for 5:30. After looking at the details of " V&A" on line, we decided to honor our reservation at Chef's Table. So glad we did.
The food was tasty but not as fine as I expected. The value is great! But don’t expect the best fine dining experience here.
I don’t regret coming at all. Totally worth the price.
My wife and I tired this for our anniversary and we will plan to return! The atmosphere, service and food were top notch! We started off with a couple drinks at the bar and then took our table in the kitchen area. The menu was exciting with great options and our server took us through it like an expert. He shed light on dishes and helped guide us to what we wanted. I had the pork chop and my wife the lamb.....both were large portions and delicious. We highly recommend this place for a special occasion and we will return to try their Tasting Room one evening for dinner.
Enjoyed the food immensely as it was delicious and creatively prepared. The Chef's Table is in the back of the Edgewater Hotel in downtown Winter Garden which is a lovely small town. The front part of the restaurant is a small plates setting (tapas) and is large and bit noisy, but the Chef's Table is set back and away from that, and there are only 3 tables there so it's a very intimate setting. The service was perfect, timely and on-point with suggestions for the Price Fix meal. We chose to add the wine parings and I'm glad we did as I experienced some Portuguese wines that I doubt I would have tried on my own. This isn't a cheap evening but if you are looking for something special, give the Chef's table a try.
3rd time there! I always enjoy it. Food was great! Portions were just right! Our waitress was amazing and extremely personable. I'll be back for sure.
Good food , great service. Attentive staff always special
We are locals that have been here several times, and it's our go-to fine dining option to celebrate at! It is a pricey restaurant, but the quality never disappoints and the staff is fantastic. I always recommend this place when friends ask for a fancy restaurant to try.
We have eaten at The Chef's Table three times now and have never been disappointed. Most recently was a Mother's Day celebration for dinner after going to the Garden Theatre. The service and menu were fantastic. They really know how to make an event of a meal. Their timing between courses was perfect and the amount of food was just right per course. I came out full but I could still walk to my car without feeling overly stuffed. Our server Jim was very attentive and his knowledge of the menu and how the food is prepared was spot on. He took the time to walk us through each menu item and even gave me a tutorial on how to have the best experience when eating foie gras, I HIGHLY recommend going here for a special occasion and a night you will not soon forget.
Charming small dining room with outstanding food and great service. Fixed price dinner with interesting choices and appropriate wine pairings. Back room of a Bed & Breakfast with a lively bar in front with live music. Nice choice and well respected by locals.
Great food and atmosphere. Had drinks beforehand at the tasting room and dinner after.
The food is wonderful , service was good except the time between our appetizer and main course was extremely long. Bread service is poor as the rolls were hard and we were never asked if we would like more.
