Very weird and uncomfortable to have to wait 15 minutes AFTER the scheduled reservation inside of a grocery store. The “extras” seem greedy given a $500 mandatory tasting menu.

An utterly transporting experience. The fish is of the highest quality, and, when cooked it is cooked perfectly. The uni on Brioche with black truffle is one of New York's greatest bites. Well--maybe two bites.

We enjoyed all the courses of dinner. However, we felt the service did not match the quality of the food presented. Servers were monotone, not inviting or personable. At the beginning of dinner the supplements to the menu were presented to us subtly. The server described the supplements and how it enhanced the course they were paired with. However, a little while after a gentleman came by with a box of truffles and his presentation felt more like a sales pitch. Food was presented to us elegantly at the table, however, as plates came out of the kitchen it felt more like an assembly line to each table. We opted not to do the wine tasting however, we might have ordered wine had someone come talk to us regarding the selection. The wine menu is extensive, and no one provided guidance. Not sure if they have a sommelier, because no one came over to the table. Another missed service opportunity was during the 4 dessert courses. It would of been nice to have been offered a coffee or tea to enjoy with our dessert. However, no one offered any to our table despite it being offered and served to other tables. Instead, we were greeted with the bill before we even finished our dessert courses. We have been to other restaurants on par with the Chef Table at Brooklyn Fare. The level of service at other Michelin Star restaurants we have been to far surpasses the service we received here which may be what they prefer but as a patron who is paying for a full culinary experience at this price point, I would of expected a 5 star experience all around. To sum it up, I felt their service was not of a standard of other Michelin star restaurants we have been to and our experience did not justify their price point. With so many amazing new and established restaurants in NYC with and without Michelin stars that pride themselves on pairing impeccable service with a unforgettable culinary experience, the Chefs Table at Brooklyn Fare sadly fell short and does not provide the expected experience.

This restaurant is simply amazing! The menu was clever, but not overly so, with a great mix of ingredients that came together perfectly. The service was sublime, slick, attentive, but totally relaxed, and the setting is unusual, which adds to the drama. We can’t wait to return, this restaurant just knocked Eleven Madison off our ‘best ever’ top restaurant spot!!

The total price Of the experience was not clear for me when i booked. Food selection May be top, but not worth the money to be paid. Any Of the top 10 restaurants are at least 50% cheaper including pairing. I am dissapointed. Many go to celebrate their birthday, there was no special for us, Just one Of the same menu desserts with a candle.

Overall, food is great and meeting my expectations. The first 4 courses are fantastic even though they come at little small portion. To be honest, main entries are mediocre. The only thing that could have been done differently is the long waiting time (estimated 10-20 mins) in-between courses. We were sitting at table and were able to spot people at the bar always getting served 20 mins ahead of us.

I don't typically rate restaurants unless there is a very memorable meal. Reluctantly, I wanted to share our experience at the Chef's Table at Brooklyn Fair. We heard about the restaurant from a friend. She was so excited about the place, we fell under her spell and made reservations for 3. Unfortunately, her fight was cancelled and we had to change the reservation to 2 people. Regardless, it sounded and looked fabulous. The staff was amazingly generous and professional on the phone, also assuring us there would be no problem with the 3 to 2 switch or with our 5:00PM seating as our flight did not land until 2:55 PM. Interestingly, during each go my telephone calls, I was reminded of the strict dress code required to enter the restaurant. On our 5 PM arrival, we were the third couple seated, but seated at a table away from the counter. There was no way to enjoy the Chef's table experience. You could not see anything but the backs of the Chef's Table dinners. We could have been in any restaurant in NYC. We'll the waiter was magnificent and exactly what you would expect from the reputation of the place. We selected to go with the wine pairing and the addition truffle shavings. While the food was good, neither of us thought it was memorable in any way. Neither of us could imagine where all those Michelin stars came from. We were unable to view the kitchen activity, the entire point of going there, we were being served OK food quite eloquently, sipping magnificent wines, looking a two young women seated in front of us at the counter, where we expected to be, one in fraied jean shorts and white tennis shoes the other with an open midriff top and jeans (dress code?) Having brought a suite from NC just for the meal and restaurant experience, we think our $2200 could have been put to better use. Perhaps it was just a bad day, but at that price, we were expecting a memorable experience, not the story I share now.

While the entire experience is elevated, for the price and 3 Michelin star rating it just fell a bit short. Again I’m coming from a 3 star expectation. Food: Definitely some amazing dishes, ironically the Uni dish they are so praised for, fell flat, under seasoned even with the truffle add on (which is way over priced). It just lacked depth in the presence of the rest of the menu. Wine Pairing: For $250 add on, it simply did not deliver. This was the most disappointing part of the night. Not a single wine was stand out, or truly elevated the meal, and as with the dishes explanations did not meet expectations. Often difficult to understand or hear the explanations. Service: 2 out of the four servers we interacted with were amazing, knowledgeable, and genuinely connected with us and the patrons around us. The other two simply didn’t try much. At times the only explanations we were given of the dish was to go all the way to the bottom with a spoon. Not a single word about the dish itself. And with no written menu we simply had no idea what we were actually eating. Lastly, we had requested a signed menu from the chef. No one mentioned our request and there was no attempt to obtain anything signed from the chef. After asking we were told they no longer had printed menus. Again I completely understand but for a 3 star restaurant it just needs to be better. Not sure what Michelin is using for its system anymore but we have had much more positive experiences at much lesser rated restaurants. Overall still one of the best meals we have had. Everyone was kind. I just wouldn’t say it’s worth booking an entire trip to NYC to experience it. While I know this review appears harsh I’m simply being brutally honest. Especially with a 3 star rating.

..the kitchen didn't accommodate much at all my request for healthier leaning dishes..I wanted lower fat, lower salt, lower sugar dishes and I got basically what everyone else did..other 3 Michelin NYC restaurants made much more of an effort for me in the past..fortunately the portions were appropriately small as part of a 12 course tasting..overall it was a luxurious experience..but VERY expensive for one person with just two glasses of wine..$650 including tax and 20% tip..you pay here mostly for the professional service as it was top notch.

I have been to many Michelin starred restaurants around the world and must say I’m really surprised how the Brooklyn Fare has got 3 stars. Started with a 15-20 min. wait within the supermarket, where restaurant is located. Mediocre food servings, very short introductions and all staff/waiters so focused on having the kitchen run leaving only little focus on customer experience. Air con blowing an ice storm right at us - asked if it could be turned down but nothing happened so we froze the entire meal. When leaving we asked to get the menu with us as we saw the first seating had, but they were out of stock. All in all really dissapointing and I will be surprised if they can keep their there stars.

It is a very impersonal affair. The waiters will give you from the other side of the counter a description of the plate. Hard to listen and hard to understand. Recommend it is done as a group experience and the story will keep the clients intrigued . The way it is done now, it becomes boring and dull. The sommelier does a great job with the pairing selection. The food is well prepared and there is a great effort among the team members to deliver the best. However, some of the dishes were bland and lack seasoning. They offer some additions at a heavy price. Overall, there is a lot of room For improvement.

Food tasted great; however, I was hoping for some creative/surprising elements instead of simply luxurious ingredients. Portion/# of courses were somewhat less than I expected. There were some inconsistency in how the dishes were explained, I had to listen to the details told to the group next to us.

The chef is amazing in how he marries ingredients to create an overall taste in each dish that is so delicious and unique. There is not one appetizer entrée that we didn’t love. The tart with mini tomatoes created a symphony of smooth hedonistic tastes in my mouth which I’ve never tasted before. For dessert the corn chowder soufflé did not suit my palate but other patrons seemed to finish theirs. Wine pairing was somewhat disappointing. A few were not enjoyed by both of us. The service was nice and attentive to bring new glasses and silverware and cover my wife’s dish when she left the table and escorting to and from the restroom but no one ever checked how we were enjoying the meal. It was very difficult it to understand the servers discussing the ingredients as they are soft spoken and wearing masks and at the end of the meal I appreciated receiving a card pairing the name of each serving but it didn’t list the accompanying ingredients. It is not a noisy restaurant which I appreciate. The carpet is clean and wooden walls and ceiling helped dampen background noise. Be aware that the gratuity is included in the meal but we received the bill with no mention of that so I checked the website and was confused as I thought it wasn’t included but I think it meant for the wine pairing so I over tipped on the full bill including the amount of the $400 deposit I paid previously.

The creativity and quality of the tasting menu is off the charts. Simply superb! There was nothing on any dish that I did not thoroughly enjoy. The food was gorgeous! The waiters were professional and friendly. All were very attentive and did a great job explaining the dishes. I have two caveats that did bother me. First, I had a reservation for 5 pm and arrived 4:45. I was told to return at 5 when seating begins. Given that I have a bad knee I asked if there was anywhere I could sit to wait. The front desk made no effort to accommodate my physical needs. They simply said no without concern for my obvious condition. The second is that there is a single bathroom. Given how busy the bathroom was it is obvious that more bathrooms are needed. I cannot emphasize enough how enthusiastic I am about the food served. A true gem!

As a Michelin restaurant with an average of $400+ per person, they cannot even guarantee the essential hygiene environment for consumers. There was a fly next to the stove, and when I asked the waiter to do something about it, all they told me was 'don't worry, it won't bite." Very noisy

I will say, the guy next to me was in a sweatshirt and lulu lemon pants, while my boyfriend was sweating in a suit because your A/C was out. Also a bummer you don’t give out menus because some of the courses were not described except for the main ingredient? Maybe that’s typical but was confused. The meal itself was incredible.
