Most enjoyable meal yet! Unique experience finding the hidden doorway in the market. Door opens to a magnificent ambience and savory food choices that are definitely worth the price. May choose bottle wine vs wine pairing next time but overall took 3 hours with great service and attention to detail.

First, the proverbial elephant: cost. OK, we knew the tasting menu cost. But several things then made the price of our meal obnoxious. First: unlike most top level places on eg Tock, gratuity not included. At a place like this, the archaic tipping system should be long gone. Second: the very first interaction with staff is their attempt to upsell to the point of doubling (!) the menu price. C'mon. we are paying >$400 each, you can't afford a truffle and want to charge $250 EXTRA for it?? Wine pairing: one pairing more than good for the two of us, and generous with refills, but good grief at $320 the wines should sing - and several did not. Sigh. So: the food was magnificent. The Uni dish especially but several others were unquestionably world class. The bream-sushi had the best rice we have ever tasted. Spectacular flavour combinations in several courses; no real misses. Which means that we don't exactly have buyer's remorse. And yet - the service was assembly-line, the staff often impossible to hear (in part due to masks, sure). The decor minimal; the servingware pleasant but not interesting. Meh. I guess if this were a $200 tasting menu, we would have left delighted and feeling as though we would return soon; and the sold-out reservations make it clear that people will lay the asking price, so why not? And again, the food IS great. But... skip the nickel-and-diming, and have a little personal interaction instead of factory-style delivery, at least.

Food was good; although it’s incredibly weird that certain appetizer/dessert had to be shared with your dining partner from the same plate, because that’s how they were served. Why?? Like many other reviewers pointed out, service was meh compared with some other 3-star restaurants in the city. Certain chef/waiting staff did not introduce the dish/ingredients well, nor did they seem to care to. Since the waiting staff is not fixed for the “table” and keeps changing and rotating, they also seem indifferent to the customers’ experience. The maitre d is tentative though.

prompt seating at 5 pm. Chef Ramirez went around to say hello with everyone. we had the option for A4 waygu, fresh black truffle on top of two dishes, and caviar but decided against it this time. every dish was well thought out, balanced, and delicious. a couple was absolutely delightful with surprising flavors and textures. our favorite dishes were the salmon roe tart and the langoustine. the service was thorough while conversation with staff was personal.

There were some special dishes in our tasting menu, but no way worth $1600. There were some problems in service. We had told the restaurant a few days before that my wife cannot eat red meat for a medical reason, but were told that there was no alternate protein. There were dishes piling up on our table like being in a diner waiting for the bus boy to come around. Not 3 star Michelin in that regard. My wife ordered a tea, and didn't like it. She asked for an alternate tea. I told the waiter that I would drink it. He said "If you keep it, I have to charge you for it". And he really did! $9. Our bill was $1600. Really? You have to charge us for that. This was really disappointing for "the best restaurant in North America ". If it were a 1 star restaurant at about $600, it would feel about correct.

I don’t drink, so I ordered a non-alcoholic wine, but was served alcohol. Did not expect that kind of a mistake at a 3 Michelin Star restaurant. Also had to wait quite a while to be offered a second beverage and for the check.

This was truly, the best experience I've had ever since I came to New York. The food was out of this world, every course was one of a kind, you never see what's coming, but you are definitely mind-blown with every single course! I can safely say, I had an amazing first trip to New York.

From the minute the door is opened for you, you are invited into a very special atmosphere. The service is welcoming, friendly, efficient, and precise. Not a clank of crockery is heard as plate after plate of magnificence is delivered. The elegant and sophisticated food, with its Japanese and French influence speaks for itself, and I highly recommend the wine pairing - it is unique and perfectly selected for each dish and even includes sake. To say Chef César Ramirez is a culinary genius is an understatement. Bravo!

Outstanding food and service. Did not like to be made to wait standing up in the middle of a supermarket until they let us in since we were a little early. They should have a waiting area. Also we were only 3 and were sat at a table for at least 6. Not a cozy feeling, Everything else was perfect.
