Loved the food, loved the service. However, the restaurant should increase the price o the mothers day brunch by 2 dollars,. We all ordered a coke product and a coffee which brought the 32.99 price up to almost 40.00 a person.
My mother and I had a very nice brunch at the Chef's Palette and she is quite discerning about restaurants and food quality. Her most telling comment was that "every bite she had taken was delicious". The service was outstanding and the setting nice but a little cool. If I had one suggestion it would be to serve more vegetables and fruits.
We had good service and the restaurant is lovely, although I thought maybe they should have opened the blinds a bit since it was brunch. I was a little disappointed in the meats since they were dry and over cooked. They were replenishing the buffet constantly which was nice. The desserts were awesome, including creme brûlée!
Our favorite restaurant and bar. Love the 'earth and sky'.
My wife and I went to Chef's Palette on Valentine's Day. The service, ambience, drinks, and food were all great.
My complaint however is that the food was entirely overpriced for how much you were served. We ordered the crab fritters. $15 for four small fritters. Were the delicious? Absolutely! Were they worth $15? No. For dinner I ordered the filet mignon with a veggie relish, mashed potatoes, and a biscuit. All of that was incredibly delicious. I loved it! I just wish I had more. It was about 6 bites of steak and a small biscuit with a decent portion of potatoes... for $40.
My wife and I frequent upscale restaurants like Chef's Palette when special occasions come around. This is the first time we've ever left one still hungry.
I'd recommend Chef's Palette only if they bring their portion sizes up or their prices down.
Another great evening at Chef's Palette. They never disappoint, we were there on Valentine's Day. The food, service, and ambiance were one again, excellent.
My wife and I go there for our "night out" dinners and special occasions.
Thanks again to the staff at Chef's Palette for another great dining experience.
The food lived up to the reputation. Scallops were perfectly seared and the portion was plentiful. My wife's Cod and Risotto was also spectacular. What is missing is an atmosphere and extra amenities to ustify the price point. The local art is a nice idea, but executed only to the level of a coffee house or sandwich shop. Might go back, but there are so many other options that add an entertainment factor to the dining experience.
Great spot for a business dinner! The menu is always a "bright" surprise that is unique for out of town guests. To top it off the food is always good with a great ambiance.
Went for New Years eve with my girlfriend. Cocktails were perfect, didn't do wine, but as a beer snob they had a better than most as far as fine dining goes (they do a great job supporting local breweries). Food reviews were pretty spot on. Quantity is on the smaller side, and price is high, but taste was perfect and they had a unique menu. As me and my significant other have been trying to manage our portion sizes, for us it was perfect. Did not leave hungry and could walk, not waddle, away.
My husband and I did go on New Year's Eve so that could have accounted for the service not being as we expected. We were one of the only couples in the dining area and the larger tables seemed to be getting much better service. We were not served any bread, as the larger tables were. Also, our first and second courses arrived at the same time. That is something I expect at a chain restaurant, not a fine dining restaurant. Very disappointing. Because of that, we felt rushed to eat both courses before they got cold. We had to ask for refills and our server forgot to get our second round of drinks from the bar.
We didn't even realize they were serving a special menu for New Year's. Unfortunately we were disappointed with the selections offered. Just as an example, I felt the salmon entree on the regular menu was more appealing than the one offered on the special menu.
There was nothing on their web site about a special menu and we were looking forward to choosing selections from their excellent regular menu.
A must! The food was outstanding! A twist on standard fare that was so flavorful and perfectly portioned. The staff is friendly and attentive. My new favorite!
This truly is a neighborhood gem! An early dinner before the show and a great way to start our night out. From the service staff to the kitchen everyone is engaged and part of the success here. On weeknights you can't go wrong with their $5 menu in the bar area which is suitable for a date night, quick bits or family outing, If you want something special treat yourself to the wonderful and warm ambience of the dining room where your palette will be more than satisfied. I recently enjoyed the scallops which were perfection and we shared the bread pudding - something I have never been a fan of but now I will be sure to order it again on return visits.
Owner & Manager, Cathy has a big win here at the crossroads of Cary and Apex and there really is no need to trek downtown Raleigh.
We had a 5:30 reservation. The food was sparse and cold. I know it was a later booking but I paid full fare and deserve the same experience as a 2 p.m. customer. My recommendation is to utilize smaller serving dishes later in the day that you can maintain at full capacity and keep them hot. It's very unappealing to be scraping cold mashed potatoes off the sides of the pan. I paid full price and I expect the same quality as earlier customers received. Our server was attentive, decor was nice and the wine very good. Food was for the most part cold, bland, sparse and generally unappealing. I would give this restaurant a lukewarm recommendation. Either give me the full experience or discount my bill.
I cannot recommend this restaurant. This was a Thanksgiving Buffet at a rather upscale restaurant, it should not be out of their reach to keep the foods at the proper temperature. The prime rib was cold and all hot foods were either cool or lukewarm. The only fairly hot items were the mashed potatoes and the dressing. All the food was very tasty but was a big disappointment, not being at the right temp. On top of this there was no pumpkin pie in sight. I asked and was told it wasn't even on the menu. All the deserts were quite pedestrian, cookies, lemon squares, brownies, apple crisp. This was my second time at this restaurant, first tiime was a regular dinner, wasn't up to the standards I believe for a restaurant that wants to be upscale.
First visit so can't really comment on anything but the Thanksgiving buffet which was outstanding. We will definitely return to try the regular menu.
This was our first time there and will not be our last. The cocktail was well made and served in an ice cold glass. The house salad was one of the best I have ever had. Very fresh and balanced with delicious homemade dressing. Even served on a chilled plate. The scallops were perfectly cooked. We are already planning a return visit.
Our server was obviously not in the mood to work on Friday night.
Chef's Palette continues to be a wonderful gem at the Cary Apex Crossroads - Kildare Farm & Ten Ren Roads. This is fine dining - food, service & atmosphere at its best in the dining room. If you want something a little more casual slip in, turn right into the lovely, large comfortable bar and lounge area. Monday's nights feature is a $5 burger. Yes $5 and they are a generous size, cooked the way you want them & served with steak fries or sweet potatoe chips. I couldn't help but wonder why we are not there every Monday evening - you can't beat this deal. The atmosphere is extremely friendly with owner, Cathy taking the lead on knowing & greeting her guests. She very graciously works the room and her staff follows her good example.
Awesome experience. Everything from the time that we walked in the door until the time that we left was great. The service was only surpassed by the taste and presentation of the food.
This was our second dining experience. The first was outstanding, the last not so much. The portions were small for the price. The service was marginal and overall not a good take away. We brought friends but will not make that mistake in the future.
Never had a bad experience here, either in the dining room or the bar
We have eaten here several times and after a while we got a bit bored with the menu. We decided to give them another try this weekend. Glad we did. We had a great appetizer and entrees - skipped dessert. Service has always been good. Bar area has a different menu. Also good service and atmosphere.
As we had dined there before, the food was great and the service was as well, we intend to return. Love the quiet, more adult atmosphere.
Quaint restaurant with good food and nice ambiance.
Great food, great atmosphere. Their menus are so cool (they light up) - makes it easy to read in a dim atmosphere. But most important, their food is exquisite. One of my fav spots in the Triangle.
Chef's Palette has a unique and fabulous menu. Nothing on their menu is run of the mill, and all four of us enjoyed our meals thoroughly. The owner Cathy is hands on, visiting the tables to make sure everything is perfect.
What a nice little find. A restuarant near home that serves high end meals. I started off with the ceasar salad which was perfect. I had the lamb with duck confit for dinner and could not believe the perfect taste. I look forward to returning to this nice little gem.
Great experince, excellent food and the service was fantastic. Knowledgeable wait staff and the attention to detail to make the evening an ejoyable one was also exceptional. My wife and I are already planning our return for another enjoyable evening of fine dinning.
Took in-laws out to dinner and found this great restaurant. We highly recommend it.
Our first visit and it will definitely not be our last. Everything about our meal was perfect. The side salad was better than many entrée salads and my filet was cooked perfectly and my wife loved the scallops. We really enjoyed the experience from beginning to end.
This was our second time at this restaurant. The first time was in the bar area on a busy weekend night. Our server must have lost our order as it took forever and the place was crowded and noisy. Our second trip was in the dining room for our anniversary on a weeknight. It was quiet and nice. Our server was excellent. The food, however, although good, was not the best we have had at a restaurant for the price. Overall, not my choice of restaurants.
This is the 3rd time we've gone to the Monday nite hamburger special in the bar area. It was just as good as the other times. What's not to love about a consistently good place to eat!
This is a great restaurant with fresh food, creative menu options, and always a friendly greetings and welcoming staff. We often introduce friends from the area to this restaurant as it seems to be off the radar, thus a hidden gem. The owner personally visits tables and speaks with guests and she always makes us feel special and ensures we have a good experience. All this adds up to one of our favorite go-to local spots for dinner with friends with the option of music after on a Friday or Saturday night.
No matter if it's my wife and I or a group, it seems there is always something for everyone. Not many places get the balance right between creative entrees, sandwich option and thoughtful salad offerings. From a light meat to a full dining experience, you can find it all here. I appreciate a good bar scene with high top tables as an option and a lovely dining room filled with eclectic local art, all available for sale.
Ingredients are always fresh, food served hot and service with a smile. Don't let the strip mall location put you off. you won't be sorry.
The waitress was a delight, the food was excellent and the ambience was great. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. I also liked the ambience and the artwork.
Although the food tried hard to impress, which it mostly did, it was simply overpriced. We enjoyed the atmosphere, but our table was very close to a table of 4 and conversation bled over. If you are a 2 top, request a side table. We tried the duck bacon appetizer, and it was very salty. The potato pancake was more like a scoop of baked potato than a potato pancake. I had the seafood appetizer for my entree and it was delicious, but not sure it was worth the $36 price tag. My husband had the lamb and risotto, and it was excellent, perfect. Also a bit pricy. For dessert we had the apple pastry. The diced apples flash cooked different than I expected. The almond flavored ice cream tasted like vanilla with no hints of almond.
This has been my favorite restaurant since it first opened, however, in my last two trips, the dessert was especially disappointing. Two of my companions ordered the apple tart. They both said the pastry was dry and tasteless, and the apples were raw and bitter. The only thing good was the ice cream. I ordered the raspberry crepes. There was an artless smear of raspberry goo on top of which was a Stonehenge village of inch high rolled up pieces of crepe partially filled with cream. The crepes were dry and there wasn't enough raspberry sauce to moisten them. On my previous visit, I had the Lemon Posset. The pudding was watery and the addition of the popcorn was ridiculous - it tasted stale and did not add anything to the dish. :(
My wife had an excellent filet, but I'm pretty sure I got the better dish. I enjoyed the "earth and sky" which was 2 lamb chops over duck confit risotto... Amazing! The only thing keeping from a 5 star was both dishes came with the "daily vegetable" of Brussels sprouts, which were undercooked. Otherwise great restaurant!
Loved it all, from our friendly server to the light-up menus (so cool!) to the excellent food!
