Amazing!!!
Disappointed in the food which was bland. The place is over-priced too.
Amazing food at an affordable price!
My family and I came and they served all 11 of us the food was amazing and service
This was our first time visiting Chef's Kitchen and we didn't know what to expect. We ordered the arancini appetizer, lobster and shrimp scampi and blackened chicken alfredo and everything was delicious. The menu had so many tempting choices, cannot wait to go back and try more.
Great food and service - really enjoyed the lobster and shrimp scampi. The decor was understated at best, but we will definitely be going back.
Awesome restaurant
We we’re enjoying a Valentine Date night. We had a great overall experience, the food was excellent. Our waitress Alicia (I believe) was very pleasant and prompt with meeting requests. The only drawback to the experience was the wait time to be seated despite having the reservation. Again it was a holiday and they were busy so we understood. We also was hoping the restaurant had undergone some renovations but the interior decor is still in need of updating. The part that mattered most to us was having great food and service and they receive 5 stars for that, so we will be retuning. So happy to have this gem close to home and to be able to support local business.
The service at this restaurant was abysmal. Behind the hostess station is a sign that says: "Welcome to our beautiful chaos." That, in actuality, is a bit of foreshadowing if you drop the "beautiful" part. Our reservation was for 7:00 pm and we were right on time. Upon entering we noticed that were about 5 couples ahead of us, milling about. I approached the hostess station and stated our name and reservation time. The hostess took down this information in a small book, and then said she'd be back in a moment. She was gone for about 3-4 minutes and when she came back, it wasn't to speak to us, but another group that was waiting. We continued to wait, and at about 7:20 the hosted indicated that our table was ready. At that point, a couple approached and said they had a reservation for 6:45 and had yet to be seated. The hostess was startled that this couple had not been seated yet, and I told them that they needed to go first. So, we continued to wait and about 5 minutes later we were seated next to the kitchen entrance. And we sat, and we sat some more. After about 10 minutes of no contact with the wait staff we decided it was best to leave. And so we did. I had high hopes for this restaurant and had been looking forward to it. Sadly, it was a glaring disappointment. If you decide to go, beware that their sign says it all... "Welcome to our (not even remotely beautiful) chaos. I cannot recommend this restaurant.
We were not greeted at all. The hostess was nowhere to be found for 18 minutes. We were told by a waitress that she would be right with us. That was false. The man behind the bar, who appeared to be the owner, looked completely overwhelmed and disorganized and was just trying to pretend to be busy instead of addressing the obvious cluster at the front of house. There were people there that had been waiting for almost an hour despite having a reservation.
The restaurant was dated. They tried to renovate some with paint and some new chairs. But the old wooden doors and the tacky elevator music really brought the ambiance back down to an old mom and pop joint stuck in time.
I wanted so badly to love the food and drinks but I couldn’t. I order my usual Hendricks and tonic with lime. It was watered down and they put a lime slice that was so thin you couldn’t even squeeze it. The rolls that I had to remind the waitress to bring were hard and store bought. The rolls were served with off brand plastic tubs of butter. This is not what you expect with the prices they are trying to charge. My beet salad was not impressive. $13 for crunchy beets, Flavorless goat cheese, and a half dressed salad. The main dish I order a seafood Napoleon. The flavor was actually excellent. But conceptually they got it wrong. How can you call this a Napoleon? The name suggests it is stacked high like the dessert it is named after. Instead it is presented as a Benedict; with tomato on bottom, seafood on top,and sauced with a bernaise. My wife got their signature ravioli with lobster. Again the taste was excellent, but failed conceptually. The lobster tail was split and the meat was secured in the shell making it nearly impossible to get the meat out with the small bowl they provided.
I would not recommend this restaurant. They could be so much more if they focused on flavors and pricing their food for good, wholesome, southern fair. They have the flavors, but just trying extremely too hard.
Placing a reservation and then being told to wait 40 min just to sit down.
My first time going, but definitely not my last! The food was exceptional, the service was on point considering the business of the place. Prices were good for the amount of food that you get. Menu ranges from Shrimp and Grits to Pork Chops. And save room for desserts!
First time going here and it was great! Food was delicious! People very nice and polite! I went on Valentine’s which services es da but slow. But it was worth it!!!
Steaks was burn potatoes taste old, I will never go back to this restaurant again. Wasted time and money
Amazing food, fresh and hot, very tasteful. Highly recommend. True gem! Will surely become one of my favorite places to dine. Could use more decor to strengthen the ambiance... but I go to eat, not look at wall art. Lol. Wine selection could expand... the mixed drinks were really good.
My boyfriend and I along wit another couple went out for Valentine's. We made reservations and when we arrived we had to wait about 15 minutes to be seated. We knew things would take longer because of the holiday and amount of people dining in. Our server was great and friendly. We really enjoyed the crab cakes.
Considering it was Valentines weekend and we were late for our reservations, the front waiting area was rather small and packed, we did have to wait quite awhile to be seated, Once we were seated the waitress was excellent and the food was even better. I have traveled all over the US and several different countries and the Seafood Trio Neoplean was some if the best seafood that I have ever eaten.
Arrived 6:20 for 6:30 reservation, was told 10-15 minute wait. At 6:35 was told tables were being cleaned and we would be seated shortly. 6:45 was told waiting on a group to leave before they could seat us. Finally seated at 7:10. 10 minutes to get water, another 10 to take order at 7:30. Food started coming out at 8:10. 6 of 8 plates delivered and said other two would be right out. 8:15 one more plate delivered and said last one was coming. 8:25 was told last plate given to another table. 8:40 last plate delivered. They advised that last plate would be free along with a dessert. I asked for checks 8:45. Checks delivered 9:05 and finally left at 9:10. Server clearly had too many tables which contributed to slowness but she was extremely pleasant.
I will give benefit of doubt that maybe they were understaffed but communicate that upfront. Plus waiting 40 minutes for table past reservations is unacceptable
Food was great our service was ok. Our entrees came out fast but we ordered dessert and sat there for 20 minutes waiting for it for them just to come back and say they were out of we ordered
Good menu, kind server, overall good experience! Would try a different dish next time. Great date night
Food was great. Ambience was ok, a little bright and not much mood was set. Service was slower but the restaurant was busy. Food was a good value and really delicious! Would recommend and also go again.
The presentation was amazing and the portions were perfect!
Food was way over-priced for what you get. I ordered Chicken Piccata and was not the traditional dish. It’s basically airline chicken - bone in breast - not a chicken breast filet. I had never had chicken piccata prepared this way and was very disappointed. Service was good but waitress chatted way too much! I probably won’t go back.
The food was very good and portion size more than I expected. But the service was poor. No hostess present to greet us. Took a very long time to get wine and even order. Didn't get our wine for 45 min (not brought to table until after our salad). Took one hour before our dinner order was even taken. Just very sad because we need good restaurants and this could be if the service was greatly improved. Not sure that will happen. Too bad
The servers are very friendly and professional. Service was slow but our server was working hard!
The food was very good—very flavorful—nothing “standard” here meaning: very creative, thoughtful presentation and combinations of flavor. Easy to accommodate substitutions.
Music was a bit too loud, decor seems unfinished, lighting needs to be more ambient/intimate. Restaurant is very clean and I will be back because this is a gem—just have to work out the kinks. Please go go go—they must succeed and they must stay!
4th trip here. Service has improved immensely!!👋Food was fantastic as usual. Only thing it was not as hot as it could have been. Wine list is very limited so would suggest BYO and pay whatever the cork fee is I'd that matters to you. Glad to see this place getting on track on the front end because the food is fantastic!
Excellent experience. It is so nice to have a place like Chef’s Kitchen come to Lake Wylie. Great food, good atmosphere, and excellent service!
Annika was so awesome, she was happy, smiling and very helpful. The food was delicious, full of taste and flavor! We will tell others about this place and we will be back!

Nice atmosphere and great food. Rustic, contemporary decor. Servers seem a little inexperienced, but it wasn't a problem.
Went for a New Years Eve dinner that I do with a friend every year. So many awesome choices in the menu, I had a hard time choosing. We started off with the crab cakes and a wedge salad with champagne vinegarette dressing. The crab cakes have a slight amount of heat to them but were AMAZING! I had the Salmon New Orleans for my main and my friend had the Pecan Crusted Salmon. Both were awesome as well, my some of my potatoes were just a tab bit undercooked but overall the dish was amazing! Would definitely get again. The only thing I would try is establishing a cocktail menu of drinks. They had alcohol available but it was standard wines, beers and spirits. Our waitress was very nice. I’m sorry now that I don’t remember her name but she had braids. She was super attentive and polite answering any questions we had. What really made my night is the chef/owner walking around to greet guest and address concerns (if there were any). It thought it was a nice touch. I encourage everyone to try this place out. I live 30 mins away but would definitely head there again in the near future!
The place has a lot of potential but some heart and hard work must be out into it. The decor was bland and empty making it feel more of a soup kitchen than a restaurant. We were sat immediately and ordered a bottle of wine (which by the way, 4 bottles is a very mediocre list) and it took 30 minutes to get. We asked for specials and the server didn't even know if there were any. Dirty glassware on our tables so we had to swap from a table next to us and not one staff member noticed.
Extremely salty and overcooked food (ordered the ribeye medium rare, came out cold well done) and when I brought this to the manager's attention I got a 30% discount on a plate I did not eat. I had to call the manager again to get this item removed from the bill. My first and last time eating there.
New Years Eve dinner. Food was excellent. Service was outstanding. Price is a little high but you don’t mind paying that for good food. We will go back again.
Food was awesome! New restaurant that definitely deserves a try. Waitress was very friendly and food was spot on.
Food was fantastic, quiet and inviting atmosphere.
I kind of hate to give anyone a negative review, especially this restaurant, as we were here the week before and had a decent experience. This time, with reservations, we waited over 15 minutes after being seated before our waitress appeared. She acted shocked that we had not been attended to. She promised to do better. She didn't. She told us she would be right back with hot rolls. She came back with a basket of rolls and set them on the table and left. There was not bread/appetizer plates. Waiting another 10 minutes to get her attention, we indicated we needed something to place our rolls on after they had been buttered. Back with the saucers. My wife was skeptical about the BBQ burger so she asked, "Is this burger "heavy" with sauce, or just drizzled with sauce?" The waitress said she didn't know but thought that it was "probably just a slight drizzle." My wife took a chance. Bad move. It was drenched in BBQ. I really shouldn't complain about the waitress as in all probability she received zero training. I blame the management for putting people with little experience/training in waitress positions. Our table allowed us to view the bar. The majority of the waitress's time seem to be leaning against the bar and checking their cell phones.
The Salmon New Orleans was perfect! Highly recommend!!!
This was our first visit. The menu has more entrees that I’d like to try than any other restaurant in recent memory! I loved the entree I selected and look forward to trying more. The crab cake appetizer was also delicious!
The service was a bit slow. This was fine since we were with friends and enjoying the company. But if it was just my wife and I, the slow service might get annoying. We shall see.
We WILL be back. Best food in Lake Wylie!
They were understaffed so the service was slow. The food was excellent and we'll go back hopefully when they have a full staff for another try. The lobster ravioli was excellent and is a small lobster tail not little chucks of lobster in the middle of the ravioli.
Very good food, large portions and a very attentive waitress. Not very crowded on a Thursday night. Piped in music a little loud; speaker was right above our table but as soon as we mentioned it they quickly lowered the volume. The waitress refilled our drinks constantly and checked back with us at least four times during the meal
Getting better! Second time here and a definite improvement from our first visit.
The good:
Now has a liquor license (and a corkscrew!)
Cozy table
Food again was outstanding and great portion size
The crab cakes are excellent!
Very reasonably priced
The needs improvement:
Service is still slow and very inexperienced (one shouldn't have to open the wine!)
Table seated next to us waited forever while the table across the way was in, served and left before we even got our entrees
Our wait was too long even to order
I am glad to see things improving but most people won't be as patient as we have been. The food is really really good but the management has got to improve the service. Bad service can ruin a great meal and also sink a place. I hope this gets fixed fast or this place will never last!
We did tell the table next us the food was worth the wait.....but that is not going to be the case for us next time!
Hope to see progress next visit!
The food was very good but the portions were small for the price. My husband asked me to take him to taco bell after which was disappointing because we spent $85 with tip. I didn’t like that all of my food was touching in a bowl and that it had onions that weren’t listed in the description. The waitress was very nice but she had her nose out of her mask the whole time which defeats the purpose. We will be likely to come back to try brunch but probably not for dinner.
