Excellent food and great service! Would definitely plan on returning
Great food, friendly service and very nice location for outdoor dining.
Staff was friendly and welcoming. They went out of there way to accommodate us.
The food was excellent! I had the seared salmon. It was a big piece of salmon and it was delicious! The next time I’m in town, I will definitely eat here again.
We had a very nice meal at Chef Geoff's West End location. The food is consistently good and the menu broad enough that everyone- vegetarians, GF, picky eaters- can find things to enjoy.
Excellent food at a great price.
This restaurant was amazing! The staff was awesome as well as the food. The drinks were moderately strong, which, in my book is thee best! I’ll be back!
Nice place to dine for a vacation
Great service, attentive staff.
Great food! Spacious outdoor dining area.
Waiters need to be more tentative to their tables. All tables assigned, are in eyes view so in the "checking in" phase of serving they can see everyone at once as they hit each table.
We were sat in a small section by the doorway to the other end of the restaurant. There was a wait stand 2 tables down from us, so there was a lot of passing but minimal engaging. Every winter should have refill on the brian. I expected a little more from this location, but the food was VERY good..
The service wasn't the best. Our waiter barely checked on us, and the restaurant was practically empty. My boyfriend really enjoyed his drinks and food. My mushroom ravioli was okay, but the cream sauce was cold and separating.
The door person would not seat me, even though seats were available outside, I then made an reservation for outside, I had left my phone # with the door person who never text or called me for seating. I waited until my reservation then asked to be seated outside. The next morning I suffered from food contamination.
Good food and excellent service under full observance of COVID restrictions. A good neighborhood place that has been brave enough to stay open and serve the neighborhood.
We didn’t have the experience we had hoped for. We had made a reservation for a high-top table, but didn’t get that. Not a big deal, but things seemed disorganized from the start. We were seated a long while before getting water and even longer before our order was taken. After our order was finally taken, a different waiter came to our table to take our order. He had an electronic device, but our order had been hand written. This made us worry whether our order was actually handled correctly. It was 45 minutes before we got our appetizer and that was only after we inquired about it and only shortly before our entrees were served. Other tables around us were flipped to new parties during this time and the new parties were served before we were. A table near us complained about late food and had an appetizer removed from their table. We could tell the staff was having a rough night, so we did not complain about anything. If I had not received this survey, I probably wouldn’t have ever given any feedback about our visit. We know these are rough times in the service industry. We rarely go out for a meal this expensive, so it was disappointing for us. However, the food was good and the portions were appropriate. I have a gluten allergy and felt that was taken seriously by our waiter. The gluten free flourless chocolate torte with raspberry sauce and toffee ice cream was amazing! I would definitely go back for that!
Our drinks took a bit long to come out. Otherwise, great! Will be back
The food was excellent, as was the service. They had plenty of outside seating with umbrellas and heaters available for attention to individual preferences.
Overall was very good. Nice ambience inside but we sat outside. Good drinks selection. We were there late so not many people there. Food was on the greasy side but very good. A tad expensive but the location probably justifies it.
Waiters work too slow. 2/3 of time there we were waiting either to make an order or check
What a surprise restaurant. Great happy hour. And the frites are enough to write home about!
Easter dinner was tasty
Wings are awesome with the splash of fresh jalapeño peppers within their home wing sauce. Visitors will find appetizers to dinner items on the menu.
Wish we had been informed when we made the reservation that our party of 8 would be split into 2 four tops. And that we were placed in the back next to the kitchen. 😡. Didn’t love that the hosts were going to the manager and back to each other and whispering in front of me. Very unprofessional. Next time we will be going to your New Mexico Ave location.
Our server was amazing! We really enjoyed our food!
I reserved a table outside and specified in the sun. Unlike other happy visits, no host was there. Bartender was so busy he could barely look up. Finally he told me we could sit at the small table in the shade right by the door b/c it was the only table they could add a 5th chair to.
There were 2 other larger tables in the sun on the M St side so we didn't understand but as I had limited time to visit with out of town friends, we went to Upper West Side Cafe where were accommodated with a smile, fabulous food, service and a table in the sun.
Chef Goeff used to be my neighborhood go to but no more.
Please stop with a survey fir everything.
Food was outstanding, the drinks were delicious and cold and it was just why everybody needed after a long day exploring DC. As a local I have overlooked this place too often. Our waiter was busy with 5-7 tables, was playing bartender and handling take-out orders but was never absent from our needs. Highly recommend the Buffalo wings, pizzas and truffle fries.
Great, consistent food. Consistently poor service. Had a 6:30 reservation for outdoor seating and watched an empty table sit there, uncleaned for 40 minutes until we could sit down. Took about 20 min to place an order. Something similar happened the last two times I came here. It’s a shame because it’s in a convenient location for me but I don’t want to spend 2.5 hours waiting around for what was intended to be a quick bite.
Service was extremely slow. After we received our food, our waiter didn’t stop by our table for 45 minutes.
I would have loved dessert but it just was so slow.
It was absolutely fantastic. The food was phenomenal and we were plenty pleased. Portions were good, and the staff was very nice. Would definitely go again.
Great food qnd service. Happy hour is a great deal to save money!
I'm a loyal fan of Chef Geoff's, but our experience Saturday was abysmal. I've always gone to the New Mexico Ave location and received excellent service, but the West End location was a disaster. We had a reservation for 645 and were not seated until 710. It took the waiter 25 minutes just to come order our drinks. They were extremely understaffed and flustered the entire team. The meal took 2 hours which was entirely too long since we didn't even order dessert. Luckily the food was still excellent, but the poor service really put a damper on the evening
It took 20 minors just to get out drink order put in. Either they were short on wait staff or they are always this way. The food was pretty good though. Just be prepared for a long night of waiting.
Sat outside but given a table by the far end of the patio near the hotel door and people kept coming and going. Server was new and unfamiliar with menu and also slow with service. Heaters were broken, took multiple attempts to light them. Food was fine.
Staying in a nearby hotel decided to give Chef Geoff’s West End a try. I was pleasantly surprised both the food and service were outstanding. The server we had was great the food was equally outstanding portions were generous had trouble finishing mine. Ordered the Caesar salad and for entree’s we ordered the Salmon and the Rigatoni with sausage. Both meals were cooked well and flavorful. If you are in the area Georgetown or Foggy Bottom this restaurant should be on your list.
The staff was friendly staff and the food was great.
Food was great. 1 server for 6 tables made for descent service. Over all average experience. Crab cakes and salmon burger were amazing though!
This was a great meal and our waiter was awesome. However, we felt the place was lacking in atmosphere. Perhaps music would have made the experience better. The space is quite large and each table was spaced far apart, which was great for COVID reasons but with the reduced number of people, very high ceilings and lack of music, the environment felt a little stale. The burger and sweet potato fries, however, were excellent!
Great Happy Hour! House made Rigatoni was so damn good.
Marco was great and attentive despite being busy!
