My wife and I were looking for a good dinner in a nice restaurant. Although the restaurant wasn't crowded, we were placed in the bar area. This wouldn't have been an issue except that we were served by the bartender who was inattentive, at best. Ordered a 2014 wine and after being served we noted we were given a 2015. When we mentioned this, the bartender brushed us off stating, "yeah, sometimes we run out and they change it". He asked about bread, then didn't bring it. We had a better interaction with the guy dropping off the food; who did finally bring us some bread. The food was excellent, however, we expected more than Applebee's service.

Cold, wet night, I think they appreciated our coming out. Staff was friendly and attentive. Love that they offered tastes before we purchased a bottle of wine. Husband had the trout with sweet and sour cauliflower (recommended by server) he said best meal he’s had in a long time...outside the home ;)
Entrees are a little pricey but good for a special occasion or date night.

This is my second visit to Chef Geoff's. The service was excellent. I enjoyed my salmon burger and the rose wine that I chose. My friend had a kale pizza that looked scrumptious. We had a great lunch.

My wife and I have been to CG’s many times, and this special Valentines dinner was no different. The food and the wine list is phenomenal. I suggest you stop by on any given night. You will certainly find something on the menu that gets your attention, and pleases the palate.

Chipped glass, missing side order, long wait just to get drinks, soup delivered without a spoon .... in fairness the first sub par experience I have had here, so I’ll put it down to being overly busy on account of Valentines Day.

How lucky to have Valentine’s Day fall on half price bottle of wine night - not many local restaurants stock Barboursville Cab Franc! The lobster ravioli was fabulous as was the crab cake. Alway a great meal here.

Fat Tuesday at CG was very nice. Always new tastes offered by the Chef. A bit noisy, but the booths allow for a private, romantic dinner. BZ!!

We just had Sunday brunch there. The menu was imaginative without being crazy -- best of all, the food was perfectly cooked. And the service was unobtrusive but completely responsive to our needs.

We started with happy hour prices at the bar. Next, we were seated at a cozy booth which supported conversation and getting to know one another. We were given impeccable service: our server volunteered his recommedations; he checked on our satisfaction with our entrees shortly after we received them; a manager briefly checked on our satisfaction; our water glasses were refilled multiple times without prompting. I had the salmon and a glass of cabernet - both were wonderful.

The bacon-wrapped shrimp salad was fabulous -- perfectly done. Also, had the chocolate cake for dessert and i would go back again and again and again just for THAT DESSERT. And i know chocolate. It was the best I've wrapped by lips around.

We enjoy Geoff’s for business ,Social and Happy Hour gatherings. Overall food and service was excellent. However , I don’t know want was going during our visit but the bar was major issues getting simple drinks prepared. Can’t even do a Cosmos or a simple martini. We had to return the drinks and and the remake were not that great, we just gave up. It’s a Saturday night and one would expect that you have your top people on board. The waitress finally admitted that it was a bar helper and not a bartender making our drinks. Oh well , next time we will stick to a nice bottle of wine.

Food was good. Service was about a “meh”as you could get. No highs, no lows. Would have thought it would have been a little more attentive especially when it wasn’t all that busy. Valet service looked real fancy though.

Open table only allows reservations up to 12 people here and the restaurant graciously accommodated our request for a 13th seat without a problem. Food is great though many items on the menu were not available. They had run out of several apps and entrees, which was disappointing though not really surprising as we were there in the evening on the last day of Restaurant Week.

We have come several times for RW over the years and Chef Geoff's makes a point of offering most/all of the menu (other restaurants only offer certain things), which is nice. But you have to be careful because if you end up choosing cheaper options without realizing it, the RW deal is fairly close to normal price. This isn't really a complaint as I don't think you run much risk of finding 3 courses of options that would normally run less than the RW price, but if you really want to walk away feeling like you got a deal, this is the week to go for pricier entrees.

The food is outstanding. The various seafood options were all available (except the calamari app), and I really enjoyed the BBQ shrimp app and swordfish special! I've had the shrimp and grits before too and HIGHLY recommend it.

The place has usually been pretty full and quite loud when we have gone before, but Sunday night at 8:15 PM, we had the room to ourselves and were entirely at fault for how loud that room got! The staff was really polite and accommodating. The server even offered to handle split checks and all the awkward complications customers often add to split checks without being asked to, which was over and above. (This in particular is big change from past experiences at this same restaurant.) And while we stayed quite late, we were not rushed out at all. That said, part of why we were there so long was that the food doesn't exactly fly out of the kitchen. Again, not really a complaint in this case since we were there to enjoy time together with friends in a nice place and that's exactly what we got.

I think this restaurant has become very mundane - there's not much special. Service is just ok. Food is nothing to write home about. Sorry to be bleak - I was a fan when it first opened but I think Geoff needs to spend more time there.

I've been to Chef Geoff's before so chose it for my bday dinner BUT the experience this time was not good. So many options were not available and we were there on a very uncrowded, early part of dinner service. On top of that the waiter was a ghost...we had to ask on 10 occasions for water refills. He was simply unresponsive. It was not a good birthday dinner.

I must say this was not the best visit to Chef Geoff’s. Although it was restaurant week and you would think they would stock accordingly, a lot of things they were out of on Sunday and the service were slow. We had a couple of people in our party that had seafood allergies and that was pretty much all that was left on the menu. One good thing was that they were knowledable about the menu for allergies and took precautions to not cross contaminate food brought to the table. I would probably try to give them one more try but definetly not during restaurant week.

Went for Restaurant Week on the Sunday. We had reservations for 1:30 PM but did not get seated until 35 minutes past our reservation time even though we got there 20 minutes early. When we went to order they were out of almost all the appetizers including two out of three that we wanted. Besides those issues, the food is outstanding and the value is very good for Restaurant Week. In addition, they provided some kind of carrot cake bread that was delicious. Lesson learned is to book an early time on the weekend.

The food was good and our server did his best to accommodate us. We were not happy with the fact that we had a 1:15 PM reservation yet we were not seated until roughly 45 minutes after our reserved time. In addition, many of the items advertised on their Restaurant Week menu were not available.
