Everything was good about this restaurant except the food. I went to dinner with group of friends and everyones food was subpar. I ordered NY strip steak and it was unseasoned and dry, my friend ordered the hanger steak and it came undercooked. I was highly disappointed at this restaurant.
Been going here for years. I had the rockfish fillet. Was served three tiny pieces of rockfish. It was bland and not seasoned at all. My friend had the sirloin steak- it was mediocre. I should have sent my dish back but was too tired deal with it.
Best for me to stick with the cheeseburger if I ever go back. Disappointing.
This is the second time I’ve hosted a large group (9-10 guests) during the week at Chef Geoff’s and service has been incredibly slow. The meal was delicious and the ambiance relaxing, but I likely won’t be dining there again. I had to flag down the server to order our first course, dessert and to get the bill.
Catching up with a friend from New Orleans so we wanted a place where we could hear each other. Most restaurants today are so noisy!
This version of Chef Geoff's is super. The attractive restaurant is all on one level, has table cloths on many of the tables, offers interesting specials and choices off the menu, provides good service, and I will certainly return. They also have valet parking.
Went to Cheff Geoff's for my birthday. Because we like to eat early we were able to take advantage of the Sunset Special- $27 for salad, entree, dessert. Fabulous deal. Three of us got different salads and they were all fresh and delicious. Trout and salmon entrees were winners as well as desserts. We will be back.
Always love Chef Geoff's! Wonderful menu options, delicious food, great drinks, and constantly good service. It's a great spot for just about any occasion!
Dinner was excellent! Great food (crispy asparagus was fabulous, as was stuffed mushrooms covered in bacon), steak and salmon). I'll be back soon!
Chef Geoff’s opened just prior to our move from the Northern Virginia area and we didn’t have the opportunity to try it before leaving. However, our friends have been raving about the restaurant for years. So, on our first trip back to the area, we made it a point to dine at Chef Geoff’s. We are happy we did! Exceptional food, outstanding service, and, lucky for us, 1/2 price wine that night! The calamari appetizer was a generous portion and cooked to perfection. Both of us ordered pasta - wild mushroom ravioli as well as a ribbon pasta with wild mushrooms and peas. Although they sound like similar entrees, they were very different but both were exceptional. It will be very difficult to order something different next time. Chocolate and ice cream for dessert...you bet! The flourless chocolate cake is crave worthy. A meal at Chef Geoff’s will be on our itinerary every time we return to NoVa. Hope he branches out to the Charlotte, NC, area :-)
Our server, Ashley, was wonderful. She wrapped up my extra sweet potato fries and even included directions for me to heat them up. The fries were yummy 😋
The BEST grilled tuna I’ve ever had❗️
Fresh, full-flavored and steak-y.
We had a group of ten friends. Great table that made it easy to chat. Food was really good but our server was fantastic! She offered separate checks (which we would never ask for) and her recommendations were spot on!
Food was bland. Service was good and who I’m assuming were the managers came to check on us. Nice setting but I would not return.
Chef Geoff's remains a dependable option. The food is reliably good as is the service. It is reasonably priced for the WDC area.
Great lunch for summer restaurant week
Can’t be topped
Liquid libations substitutes - brilliant
great experience for my first time in the restaurant, great food, and atmosphere. I thought that the service wasn't good, I'm not sure if it's short staffed or mistakes in the kitchen but I shouldn't be looking over my shoulder wondering if they forgot me. A couple came in after me and I saw them get all of their stuff and left before me. I've worked in restaurants before and I understand stuff happens. I was surprised with the amount of customers in there that I would be getting a lot better service.
Restaurant week is amazing here as the whole menu is available not just a part of it. All the food is awesome. The desserts were really good. Highly recommend this amazing place.
Great value during Restaurant Week. Had some old favorites and tired some new ones - all were great. A little disappointing that we couldn't do a take-out from the Restaurant menu because our third person couldn't make it.
It takes a very long time for food to come to the table and while having time to eat and conduct business, it is too slow. The food is very good, good environment.
There were 4 of us for Restaurant Week - wow what a generous selection! We spent a leisurely 2 hours chatting and visiting and eating! What better way to spend the afternoon? The food was really delicious and we had numerous choices of appetizers/soups/salad/snacks, AND a full entree AND dessert! It was a wonderful experience - we had been to Chef Geoff's for Sunday brunch, downtown for pizza and burgers before theater but not Restaurant Week - can't wait for the next one!
Loved the food! We went for restaurant week and it was one of the best menus I found. So many options and a great deal. Definitely got my money's worth!!
There was shrimp in the cauliflower appetizer that they quickly replaced and the manager apologized for it and even sent and extra app. But it was funny that may daughter pointed out that the waiter packed the leftovers for the couple seated next us. And for us, he just dropped off the containers.
Always enjoyed my black bean burger, it’s the best
As usual, good food and service. Not too crowded for restaurant week, which surprised me.
Our server Khaki was amazing and very attentive (even though this table next to us was always trippin’ about her Shirley Temple refills), and the foam on our cappuccinos was even better than Chef Gordon Ramsay’s! The boss man Arianna was a cool chick too and you can tell that she could run this restaurant in her sleep!
I love the food and lunch is always great Dinner can get very noisy. Valet parking is a plus, and the staff is always friendly and helpful.
I planned on coming to the this lunch with the intention of finishing my meal in an hour's time. This trip was a disaster! Within the hour and a half that we allowed for the lunch, we only received our appetizer. At the end of the hour and half was when we were served our entrees. I do not expect to come back any time soon.
Always great - came back just for the mushroom ravioli...so good!
We enjoyed our lunch very much. It was Restaurant Week so the value was excellent as the entire menu was included. Everything was delicious except for a strangely textured chocolate dessert. Despite the fact that the restaurant was busy, we had very good service. We look forward to dining at Chef Geoff's again soon.
The appetizers were very good but my entree (hong kong bass) was too salty and there wasn't a lot of fish. My brother's salmon was fine.
The Mexican chocolate cake dessert was not very good. It didn't taste like a cake - it was almost like a firm pudding and didn't have a strong chocolate flavor. The mango sorbet was good.
Our server was very good.
I had never been to Chef Geoff’s before but decided that I’d give it a go for Restaurant Week.
The food and service were just ok - nothing overly impressive. The best part of the meals was the sautéed asparagus and sweet potato fries. For the price, 22$/person for lunch, it was ok, however the prices outside of RW are too expensive for middle of the road food and service.
Our waitress was great and attentive. The food was very good and well displayed. And the complimentary lemon poppyseed bread/cake to start was a delicious treat! We had a very pleasant Sunday brunch with the bottomless mimosa deal!!
Dessert we ordered was not available. Waiter lost our gift card. Food okay nothing to write home about.
Great happy hour menu and convenient location. Helpful and accommodating staff. However, sat down for dinner after happy hour only to be disappointed by the dried out, rather tasteless eggplant parmesan entree accompanied by an overly-salted salad.
Great food, attention to detail, energetic and helpful staff, excellent ambiance, good for parties, dates, regular dining.
Requested quite comer to have business conversation. Was sat next to another large business table in the same dinning area as a crying baby. Just opposite us was an empty dining room that would have been much more suitable given the request.
Our go to place when we want a great dinner close to home. Love the valet parking and 1/2 price wine Wednesdays.
The service was great and the food was delicious!
I plan on returning for other occassions.
Delicious salad. Quick attentive service.
Great weekend brunch! Would highly recommend to friends.
