Chef Geoff's Tysons Ratings and Reviews
Always enjoy bringing my clients to CG as it’s very nice, food is good and service appears to be top notch. I will say that the service is consistently friendly; professional; presentable; knowledgeable-only issue that I’ve consistently found is the service tends to be slow and oblivious to quick efficiency.
Service was professional.
Food was creative without being over the top. Price was appropriate to quality.
I went there often when my office was close. Nice to see they have maintained all the qualities that made me a “regular” then.
Great place for a business or social lunch and an even better place for an after work “pause.”
Love the menu here. Enough variety for everyone, but not an overwhelming amount of choices. Pricing is quite reasonable for the lovely ambiance, professional service, and excellence that comes from the kitchen. Likewise wine list is varied, not overwhelming, with good price points. Will be sure to return!!
Chef Geoff's continues to be on my favorites list. Due to the cold weather, customers were seated off the front lobby either to the side or back rooms. Very thoughtful.
The waiter was a bit pressed but knew the menu. I think he was overwhelmed but was not rude or abrupt. Just not warm and friendly.
Food was awesome and great proportions. The expresso creme brulee was delicious but the sugar crackle was a bit overburnt.
Overall, I always recommend Chef Geoff's. I really wish there was a location in Arlington or Alexandria!
Not a great experience. I went with my family for brunch. It was a cold day and the dining area was very cold. I ordered a breakfast burrito with chorizo, but it was very bland. I would not recommend it. I sent it back, but still didn't like it very much when they added more chorizo. The waitstaff was not very attentive, my wife ordered coffee but they never came back for a refill until we were done. This will be the last time I go for brunch.
It was Christmas Eve and the wait staff could not keep up. Took 30 minutes to get to us. Lots of large parties. I appreciate that it is hard to keep up on a different kind of night. The food was excellent and once service began we were well tended to. But there was a lot of tension in the room and coming from church and eating late was not the time to be delayed.
The service was terrible. Our waiter seemed to be the bartender as well. We were never offered a wine list, or asked if we wanted drinks, unused wine glasses were left on the table, I️ had to ask for the dirty dishes to be removed, and then had to ask for replacement silverware that had been taken. The timing of appetizers, main courses and dessert was uneven.
This is not what I expect at a restaurant of this caliber. We were comped our appetizers but the poor service eroded the mood of our dinner.
I️ do not recommend Chef Geoff’s
Disappointing lunch with old friends! Pumpkin back bean soup was spicy and the Waldorf chicken salad had no flavor — lots of old/tasting chalky chicken and lettuce but not much else!
Have been many times previously but it has definitely declined since that last time!!!
Everything was great! However, the waiter took about half sn hour to come bsck to us, after I told him we just needed a couple of minutes. A friend of Michelle had to get him. This happened to me there before as well. Both times, it wasn’t busy. It was later in the evening. Other than that, the food and ambiance was perfect!
While we had only one food complaint the service was AWFUL! The waitress we had was very nice but she had TOO many tables to properly care for anyone. Even after asking 3 people for more iced tea I had to wait way too long. This has been a go to restaurant for me for the last 5 years and I see it declining every time I go. Get it together Chef Geoff!
not impressed overall with restaurant. Found the restaurant to be very very noisy. Could not hear my friend talking. Food quality and variety was fair. Red wine by the glass was like drinking watered down grape juice. Had a merlot and then a cab and both had no body or character
Not up to expectations this time. Arrived 1:15pm Friday reservation. Almost no one in the restaurant. Wait staff seemed tired, service not attentive though waiter was friendly, and food was sadly disappointing too. Fish on the special fish/chips was ballooned by fried batter and the side slaw was so heavily spiced by jalapeno (the chili pepper was noted on the menu as to be inedible. Dessert was fine. It was a friend's birthday and there was a lit candle on the dessert plate.
We went to Chef Geoff's for Thanksgiving and we concerned that the food and service might not be up to their usual standards, but we were pleasantly surprised. Our server was excellent and extremely helpful and the food was fantastic! I truly enjoyed my meal and thought that all of the food we had was excellent.
This year we decided to have Thanksgiving dinner out. The menu was appropriate but had plenty of options for those who wanted something other than turkey. Our wait staff were attentive and quick and seemed to be enjoying the day. We had an excellent meal and plenty of chance to talk and share, and none of the hassle of meal prep and clean up. This may become our new tradition.
great restaurant and a great staff. our third thanksgiving in a row at Chef Geoff and all of us love it. very consistent from year to year, and a varied, inventive menu for thanksgiving day.
the regular menu also looks intriguing, and we're going to try that out for lunch or dinner very soon.
