We're regulars at Chef Cheoff's, and our last visit did not disappoint. The outdoor patio is fantastic.

Every time I have eaten in this neighborhood restaurant I have not been disappointed. The staff bends over backwards to make your meal the best and the food is top notch. I have eaten at their other locations in the city and they are jsut as good.

I live next door to Chef Geoff's and really value having this fun spot nearby. Unfortunately, on most of my visits, while I've enjoyed the energy in the room, I've found the food mediocre and the service just okay. This time -- dinner on a Thursday night -- my friend and I had delicious entrees (curry chicken; salad with grilled salmon) and found the service to be first-rate. Dessert, though, was lackluster. Overall experience was very positive.

Chef Geoff's is one of my favorite spots to have lunch. Half-priced wine on Mondays is a must!!!

As always, Chef Geof's continues to be one of my favorites for food, service, friendliness, & comfort (excluding the noise level).
It was the first night for our waiter, who was up to his task. We appreciated that he shared his status with us, which prevented false assumptions & expectations.

He did forget to mention that it was "half price bottle-of-wine" night. If we had not seen it on the menu,& bought 8 glasses of wine (2 per person), we would have paid a lot more- AND been VERY unhappy to learn about the special pricing later.

Don't know if the pre-dinner meeting included that reminder for waiters or not (it SHOULD have!). Or if he just forgot.

Regardless - it remains one of my favorite restaurants.

The service at Chef Geoff's is wonderful. Through open table, I let the restaurant know that my fiance and I were celebrating getting engaged over the weekend, and the restaurant did everything they could to make it a special evening for us, including seating us at their most romantic table. And then of course, the food was ever so yummy. Thank you Chef Geoff's!

Very busy for mother's day. Service was slow - food and wait staff (didn't really come back to check up on us) and had to ask for bread several times - never got it the second time. Food was just ok. Been there previously and food was much better so we are assuming they were just very busy. We like the $20 early special - give plenty of food, very child friendly (we have an 8 month old), have parking. May go back, but not impressed at all this past time.

All though it was Mother's day and the celebration place for a nearby college graduation, Sunday was Chef Geoff's busiest day of the year and they had served about 100 people, the tired staff was still charming, patient and attentive!! Selection advice was honest and much appreciated!

Kudos to Chef Geoff!! That's why we love it!!!

Food was was excellent! We had the most helpful, patient waitress ever - she answered all our questions well and gave great recommendations. We were there for an early dinner and had the "sunset special" - salad or soup, entree, and dessert for $19.95 - very worth it! Plenty of room for a party of 8. Plenty of outside lighting coming in the back room where we ate. Went after AU graduation - perfect because a short walk from AU.

We went to Chef Geoff's for Mother's Day brunch. My wife ordered steak and eggs, with eggs sunny side up. The waiter came back to tell us that they could only serve her poached or scrambled eggs. They had pre-made all of the eggs into poached and scrambled. So much for fresh food made-to-order. They were able to find one unmade egg to make sunny side up. The manager said that they were surprised by how busy it was... on Mother's Day when everyone had reservations? Huh?

Having said that, the meal was delicious and the server was attentive.

Perhaps Mothers Day is not the best time to try a new restaurant. In spite of having made the reservation well in advance, we were seated in the bar area and were not moved in spite of reqesting same. Food was institutionally presented (exactly 2 breads, 4 fruits to each person. Everything tasted the same, apparently cheese is used alot, though this could be the fault of what i ordered. BTW, the grits were delicious! The waiter was extremely artificially effusive and touched my shoulder. I mean it may be Mothers Day, but i'm not HIS mother.

Good food, lively atmosphere, and excellent service - even on a very crowded Saturday night. Attentive staff from host to wait staff. Wide variety of creative foods all prepared deliciously. Something for everyone in our large group.

AND as our Graduation Celebration destination choice for a large group, they had our custom decorated cake make to add to our celebration and fun. Delicious dark chocolate with raspberry filing! Wow.

Would highly recommend this restaurant and look forward to a return visit ourselves.

Restaurant was very loud, albeit crowded for nearby college graduation. Service was only fair. Too much selling of the food ("who has the crabcake?") for a place this expensive. Food was only OK, not great. Not much value for money

I have been to Chef Geoff's many times, usually for happy hour, and wanted to take my family here over the weekend. The experience was terrible. My mother's crab cake sandwich came 45 minutes after the rest of our food had arrived and the wait staff was unapologetic. The birthday dessert my family had ordered for me came fifteen minutes after the other desserts had been delivered. Food was good but not good enough for this terrible experience. I will not go back to Chef Geoff's for anything other than a supermug ever again.

The food was amazing! I had the shrimp and very gouda grits, which I saw featured on the Today Show! It was very delicious and just the right amount of food! The atmosphere was perfect for our occasion- small family celebration of my graduation. However, despite the restaurant not being very full at first (then got full as the dinner went on), our service was fairly slow and not very attentive. Overall, we were so happy with the food, the atmosphere, and the occasion, we did not mind that much.

Lia's has one of the best terraces in the city, set back from the street and not noisy. The food is always the same, unpretentions, good and with no surprises. The early bird special is a terrific bargain at $19.95 for three courses, if you want to eat by 6:30. I am rarely disappointed when I go there except for the noise level if you have to sit inside.

The menu is limited for vege/pescetarians, however, if you are eating with a group of adults without too many dietary limitations the menu is diverse and has options for picky eaters. I chose Chef Geoff's for a family birthday dinner because I knew there would be something on the menu to please everyone in the party. The seasonal cocktails and desserts were nice, also.

This was a great place to eat! The food was awesome and the atmosphere was even better. We sat out on their patio and were able to enjoy a quiet spring evening. Since it is located off the beaten path, you don't hear cars honking and large buses constantly. Great experience! Will definitely go back.

This is my local and I'm loyal to them. The food is solid and reliable and often quite delicious (try any of the pizzas or the burgers - always amazing). The service is not so reliable, though. Waiters can disappear for long periods of time, and can seem annoyed to be asked to do things like bring the check or more coffee. It's not universal - some of the wait staff is really great. You just never know who you'll get. Still, the feel of the place, the good food, and the neighborhood location keeps me coming back.

We've eaten here several times in the last six months and Friday night was the best dinner we ever had. Loved the artichoke appetizer. Loved the curry chicken dinner and the potato crusted halibut over arugula salad. Perfect dinners for the hot weather we're having. Wonderful desserts (one apple, one chocolate) and, of course, the always popular steamed milk for our hot beverages. Chef Eric Johnson was out to greet and mingle and it was delightful to see the man behind our delicious food. We'll be back soon!

Although my husband and I had a disappointing experience a few weeks for Sunday brunch (which I shared with you afterwards), this luncheon with a friend of mine from out of town last Friday was the Chef Geoff's I/we know and love! Everything was great: the lobster lemongrass soup and arugula salad with beets, pistachios and goat cheese were delicious and satisfied both my friend and me--we didn't even need to order dessert to end on a sweet note! The new patio is a wonderful addition, especially this time of year, and makes this convenient neighborhood Chef Geoff's even more of a destination...thank you for a delightful experience!

It was as fantastic as always. The restaurant is very nice without being pretentious and probably has one of the best quality/price relation in town. We have been there for last minute dinners on our way to the home, birthday parties celebrations or Valentines, and by ourselves, with friends or our daughter and we have always been happy to have chosen it. It is definitely a gem for all the neighborhoods around it. We constantly bring friends from town, other parts of the country or overseas and everyone likes it a lot. We love it.
