Crowded brunch. Food came out ice cold. Remade it but long wait. Quality left much to be desired.

Tablecloths, comfortable seating, great staff and ambiance as well as good value value. The noise level was pleasant during our Saturday brunch, and we appreciated
Being able to hear each other and converse without stress. However it took the new bartender a while to figure out how to make a Bloody Mary —forgivable but surprising. Our big suggestion is to lighten up the serving portions. There was too much food of the wrong kind—starch especially, e.g. toast with home fries overwhelmed the plate of scrambled eggs served with a skimpy piece or two of bacon. I would go back but be particular about ordering .

We have come here a few times now while visiting DC. It is a great spot if you are in the area as there are not a lot of finer dining options. The food is consistently good. We love the pizzas and the sweet potato gnocchi are a hit. Greens could use a bit more dressing or perhaps offer some on the side. The tres leche cake for dessert was a disappointment. Too untraditional and had some odd add-ons that seem random like the figs and brown sugar crumble. However, I am sure we will go back for the food and just choose a different dessert.

I have been to this restaurant on several occasions and have had some good and some not-so-good experiences. This visit was the worst experience to date. On the up side: (1) my request to be seated at a quiet table was honored; (2) we felt welcome and welcome to have a leisurely lunch; and (3) the hot water for the original service of our tea was nice and hot. On the down side: (1) my guest and I both ordered the black bean and pumpkin soup, which arrived at our table lukewarm ... and while it had been sitting wherever it had been sitting prior to being served - presumably white still hot - the croutons had melted into mushy sponge-like blobs in the soup; (2) likewise the miso glazed edamame was served at almost room temperature, the chili garlic sauce/garnish congealed into globs; (3) the bread we requested was never served; and (4) we had to ask for hot water to refresh our tea. Our waiter was present but not very attentive.
I felt embarrassed for having recommended your restaurant to my guest and unless I get an uncontrollable urge for the cinnamon doughnuts it is unlike that I will recommend it again.

We had a lovely lunch date - quiet enough for an opportunity to catch up our latest news, bustling enough to be part of a vibrant lunch experience. There were plenty of good choices, our server was attentive and helpful. Chef Geoff's provides a wide variety of lunch options, good portion size, and a nice relaxed atmosphere.

I am often a customer at Chef Geoff's, and find it uniformly good, both for its terrific food and its wonderful waitstaff. The are very accommodating about altering a dish if it is possible. The attention to customer details is impressive. IF you have not tried it, at least do so.
The one caveat is that it is near a University, so it can sometimes be noisy. That is easily overcome by making sure that the students should be in class, and avoiding days of big sports events, which they come in to watch. Otherwise, it is reasonably moderate in volume.

For the first time in several dining experiences we sent a dish back to the kitchen. The crab cakes had an odd taste and smell and my mom ended up sending it back for a salad.

Service was great. Bread was fine. Guest had soup which was good. I had Chinese chicken salad. I asked for light dressing and it was swimming. The chicken was chopped and flavorless. Not awful but makes me unwilling to return anytime soon.

Our dinner consisted of 12 people; family reunion of sorts celebrating a 92 year old birthday. Everyone enjoyed the location, parking was easy, ambiance very good, food very good. It was our first time there so we were all pleased.

My garden club selected Chef Geoff's after a nearby event, and we were not disappointed! We were able to make a reservation and we were seated promptly. A table for 13 guests together is never easy, but we had excellent service throughout our meal from Alex, and other helpers as needed. Most of us had sandwiches and everyone loved them! The lamb burgers were particularly good with the house made pita bread and fresh salad along side. The portions were generous. I had not eaten at Chef Geoff's but will certainly return there soon!

We've been coming to this place for years...but have noticed a deterioration of late. On this trip, they didn't have the wine we ordered, but did conveniently have one for $20 more per bottle. Though we weren't half done with out dinner...they asked us about three times if we wanted to see the dessert menu. They couldn't have been more obvious about wanting us out of there to flip the table. Worst part was, the food (which has always been pretty good) was just average...and certainly not worth that kind of poor customer service. After years of loyalty to this place...we won't be going back.

Never a dull moment from the menu to the clientele. Chef Geoff's serves it up in style. I had the soup of the day which was a delightful pseudo-minestrone. It was light, well seasoned and loaded with vegetables and greens. I opted for the salmon burger which was served with mixed greens (my choice) that had a dressing that brought out the taste of the greens. The salmon burger was perfectly cooked, moist and garnished with bacon lettuce and tomato. My date had an entrée salad with steak. We enjoyed the hot, fresh bread with lemon butter and the vodka on the rocks, she, and red wine me was adequately priced. Yes, I shall return!

This place was terrific. The outdoor patio is so nice and the noise level was low, which made it relaxing. Our server was very nice, and recommended the Brussels sprouts as an appetizer. So good! I also got the maple chicken, which was phenomenal, particularly because of the mac n cheese and acorn squash that it is paired with. It is a little pricey, but worth it for how good everything was.

As usual the curried chicken was fabulous. The fried calamari were good as well. Unfortunately, we had a waiter who was new to serving and so the service was not good. We had to ask for bread and would not have been given it if we had not asked. I had a dirty knife and finally asked on of the buss people to bring me one when our waiter never did. The same was true of getting a water refill.

We shared the crispy brussel sprouts to start. They made an excellent appetizer with plenty for us each. They were indeed crispy and delicious. I had the lamb burger - juicy and so well seasoned. My friend thoroughly enjoyed the mushroom ravioli. We told our server Elizabet we were two friends on a catch-up lunch and were in no hurry so Elizabet gave us the perfect amount of attention and time for a good chat. All in all a lovely lunch in a lovely and warm and friendly place.

Food was good however, I was disappointed that an establishment the size of chef geoff’s had run out of red wine glasses and the server did not apologize for serving us our red wine in white wine glasses. Even one of those was chipped and had to be pointed out to the server. Don’t lose your attention to detail Chef Geoff staff!

We had the Simple & Healthy options. My "Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes were disappointing--no "lumps" of crab and kind of mushy--but the side serving of broccoli was cooked right and very generous. My wife had Atlantic Salmon, which she described as okay but unremarkable; it came with broccoli, too. The dessert, a Turtle Brownie Sundae, was generous but underwhelming--I guess it's a "turtle" because all the fudge and caramel are on the bottom. Not a good idea.
Overall, I don't think we got value for money, spending more than $100 for two crab cakes, a piece of fish, a desert, and a cocktail. Also, the lighting in the restaurant is very dim.

I was visiting the area and decided to take my hosts to Chef Geoff's as a thank you. We all enjoyed the appetizers (pork belly buns) and entrees we ordered.

There was some renovations taking place, so we ate in a back dining room by ourselves as we wanted to be seated indoors that day. Both the manager and waiter looked in on us regularly to make sure we had our share of attention.

This was a bad day at Chef Geoff's. Five of us came for lunch. We ordered sandwiches, salads and a burger. The burger did not arrive until 35 minutes after everyone else was served. Our waiter either didn't notice he served only four people, or didn't care. We had to flag down a manager to ask. He said the chef was cooking it personally. When the burger finally came the waiter dropped it on the table as if we were the problem. Another restaurant would have comped the burger as a nice gesture. What's going on with the kitchen now? The Rueben sandwich was so fatty that it was inedible. A salmon burger had no taste whatsoever. The fries - which many of us had - were also mushy and tasteless. We'll go one more time, but if the food and the service are like this again we will not be returning to our neighborhood restaurant.
