Chef Geoff's (New Mexico Ave.)
A DC staple with a friendly, neighborhood feel, you will feel welcome here for any occasion large or small. Our made from scratch menu, including our seasonal weekly specials menu, is fresh, flavorful and offers something for everyone. From pizza, salads & burgers to our more elaborate main dishes, one thing is for certain, we don’t skimp on flavor! Our bar, featuring our daily happy hour, covers all ends of the spectrum from our famous super mugs (giant beers) to our handcrafted cocktails created by our in-house mixologist Hector Carmona. The breezy elevated patio is the perfect spot to enjoy our Bottomless Brunch. And don't forget Half Price Wine Night every Wednesday! There’s always something happening at Chef Geoff’s!
See message below. You don’t seem to be able to get your cancellation records straight as this has happened to me before. I filled in the stars because I could not get to this page without doing so but they are meaningless
Chef Geoff's is always a lunchtime favorite, and today was just perfect. Food (Happy Hour all day Monday-Tuesday!!!) was outstanding, as always. Service great, noise level down, had a good time!
Me and my grand daughter had a wonderful not rushed lunch. Everything was wonderful. It was noisy.
I love coming to this Chef Geoff's. The food is really good as are the drinks, and the wait staff and hosts are very accommodating.
Great food and service
Both dishes were phenomenally good. Our server kind of forgot about us at the end which is why he only got 4 stars instead of 5.
Will go back many times. Enjoyed the place, good food, friendly people.
Excellent choice every time-happy hosts provide a warm greeting, great service, efficient, and delicious food at fairly reasonable prices. We plan to return to Chef Geoff’s regularly!
The service was great with our server comfortable with us lingering over coffee refills. My salmon Eggs Benedict was good though the biscuit under it was a bit too crumbly. The brunch menu might have offered more choices. But all in all, nice to have in the neighborhood.
Excellent service with grest food and in a good location.
Our waitress was exceptional! Food was great! Birthday discount was appreciated!
Meh-It’s was just ok. Super loud. Lots of families. Scallops were overcooked and rubbery with pine nuts and raisins and had a strange combination of flavors. Also the Pinot Gris and Pinot Grigio on the menu ( by the glass) we’re both terrible. Service was ok. We had a reservation and still had to wait for a table.
The ambiance is wonderful at this location. Lots of local folks. Food quality is wonderful!
Chef Geoff’s used to be one of our go-to restaurants when our daughter was younger. The menu had lots of interesting options and the food was better than average. We returned after quite a few years the other night and the menu was very abbreviated and less interesting. The service was pleasant but very slow. And sadly, the food mediocre. It’ll likely be few more years before we return.
We had a mediocre meal at Chef Geoff's this time. My husband and I split the bacon nachos, which we normally love, but these were only okay. Some of them were burnt. I ordered a Caesar salad, but the dressing was not Caesar dressing. My husband ordered the chicken sandwich, but the bun fell apart. Our beers also took forever to arrive. Our waitress was outstanding, though. She kept checking in with us, apologizing about our wait for the beers (the bar tenders needed to let them "rest") and basically doing a good job. Based on this meal, it will be awhile before we return. Maybe when the patio is open.
Pleasant dinner experience with excellent service & free garage parking a plus. Half price wine on Wed was a good deal! Here’s our take on what we ordered:
Fried calamari- very good, plump & crispy
Shrimp coconut milk soup-disappointing & very sweet, tasted more like dessert soup
Seared yellowfin tuna-good tho butternut squash purée was outstanding.
Jumbo scallops-very good but pricey for 4 average sized scallops
Delicious food and coffee. Efficient and friendly staff.
We went during Restaurant Week. The food was great. The appetizer portions were large. The entree portions were moderate which was great considering the appetizer calamari and plantain chips with guacamole was a larger size. The service was great.
Took the grandchildren for dinner. All went very well.
Loved the fish tacos. Also appreciated that Host communicated to my guest that I was running late. Service was a bit slow. My guest had ordered a soda 10 minutes before I arrived, and still didn't have it when I joined him. Then it took a while to be asked for our order. But food came quickly, and was yummy.
We had a reservation and got stuck in the back room which just doesn’t have the same ambiance as the front room. And there were still many open tables....
We dined here for lunch during restaurant week, just to check out a new spot. The food was good and the service was excellent. We will definitely dine here again. I also love that there’s parking available behind the restaurant for a reasonable cost.
Good food, as usual, and dependable service. A neighborhood favorite!
Very nice. Hostess Desiree was spectacular. She made us feel very special. Ambiance and food was great.
I enjoyed dinning at the restaurant.
Chef Geoff is always a good option for a weekday bite. Generous portions, good and fast service, dependable menu and affordable prices.
Met up with some friends for a post-holiday catch-up. We wanted a comfortable place where we could relax and enjoy good food. This was the perfect choice. The restaurant was busy but we were at a comfortable table and the staff were very attentive. And noise level was moderate, so we were able to chat, laugh and enjoy the night.
A great place we visit whenever in DC. Just love their Caesar salad. May be the best I have ever had - and I have had quite a few over the years. All other options were very much enjoyed by the rest of our party as well. Look forward to going back next time in DC.
Love everything about this place. It's dependable in all directions -- food, service, ambience.
They took a long time to get food out and comped our drinks unasked. They were terrific.
Solid option every time we are in DC. Good food and drink options. And reasonably priced for DC. Restaurant was packed so reservation helped us get seated immediately. By 10:30pm restaurant was empty.
Awesome. My favorite. I wish I owned stock in it.
Ate lunch there at 1:30. Restaurant not busy but servers’ were inattentive. The special crab soup I had tasted like after it was made a whole lot of water was poured in - terrible. Very disappointing for a usually reliably good place
Huge disappointment. Have been there many times.....always pleased but never wowed. Tonight was a total downer. 2 people at the table ordered the special: Greek double burgers with all the Greek fixin's and a side. The other person at the table ordered another special (chicken-something) which was okay. The burgers were barely lukewarm. Hot off the grill??? I think not. Waiter was informed and offered to take them back but we'd waited so long that it didn't make sense to wait even longer. The manager came over to help and offered to take our meal back but, again, that made no sense. So we must have been comped....right? Nope. Nothing! BIG DISAPPOINTMENT! Chef Geoff....where are you?
We arrived early for our Saturday night reservation, but were seated immediately anyway, what a great start! There were three of us, and we ordered pizzas and salads, but the menu had many other great choices (for next time!). Everything was delicious, and the service was very professional throughout our meal. It was a little noisier than I would have liked in the restaurant, but that is the only negative. It was a lovely evening, we have already recommended Chef Geoff's to our friends/family, and we will be back!
I LOVE Chef Geoff and have been a loyal fan since the day it opened. Living 1 block away makes it my home away from home. CG has the very best people working for them. They are also what makes CG so special.
Greetings and thanks to all of you. Kitty L
Their burger is arguably the best in DC. The manager is friendly and helpful, and the servers terrific. A+
Three of us were at Chef Geoff's for lunch on September 10. One had beef enchiladas, one had meatloaf sandwich, one had chicken Milanese. The food was good. The service was very good. All of this occurred during a very busy lunch period. The prices were reasonable. Chef Geoff does a good job. We will return.
The food was terrible.
Ease of parking is a big plus. Everything I’ve had is cooked to perfection
