I requested a table in open table and just to make sure I called and I was told that table was reserved for us well was another story when I got there, I guess the manager decided to seat us wathever she wanted , is not right specially couple of hours before they confirm , also if you have ordered an appetizers should give you time in between for your next course
I love everything about this place. Wonderful service, lots of friendly smiles and delicious food!
Reserved a table outside. Well spaced and the staff and patrons were masked when interacting. Felt safe, good food, and lovely staff. I observed good spacing of seating inside as well.
Great and largest outdoor patio in DC. Umbrellas on tables are large enough to eat outside in a light rain.
Best patio in DC! The service was spot on, too. I particularly enjoyed the fresh pasta with heirloom tomatoes. My son had a phenomenal pizza with bacon on it. Staff is also very good about masks and general COVID safety.
The service was lovely, food delicious and well prepare, and the outdoor patio felt safe and spacious. A wonderful celebratory experience.
Lovely outdoor seating area
Everything was great but the fries were only ok
I had the crabcake which was excellent; real lump and little filler. My guest had the salmon which he reported was also excellent. Outdoor patio seating is spaced generously and is attractive. I highly recommend.
Outside dining at Chef Geoff’s is a joy and delight! Lovely atmosphere, well away from street traffic. And consistently great food.
Spicy Caesar salad didn’t not taste good! Some sort of pickle sprinkled all over. Salmon on top had very fishy smell.
Table given to my friend and I too small for comfortable (safe) conversation while eating. I asked for the slightly larger tables, was told no, that they were for three or four person parties. Then two people were led to one of those tables right by us.
My dish was not cooked to my order, it had to be recooked.
My husband ordered a filet which did not turn out to be a filet-- it was tough, cooked too much.
The humus and pita bread are delicious, as was the guac and chips--
The crab cakes are fabulous.
All in all, we liked our meal there, but would not buy the filet again. Service was excellent.
We had a lovely meal at Chef Geoff’s. We wanted to taken advantage of the lovely weather to enjoy outdoor dining. The patio at the restaurant is spacious and the tables were appropriately spaced to accord with social distancing guidelines. The service was friendly, and we were not rushed. We liked the menu and enjoyed all the dishes we ordered. It was only the 2nd time since the beginning of the pandemic that we have eaten out, and we were very happy with the experience.
Our waiter was excellent
Top-notch service and great food on the patio on a beautiful day.
enjoyed my Russian mule! and my crab cake but had hoped for your delicious mahi mahi and guess the fish just weren't available.
Great service, food, and super-doggie friendly! Even put out a bowl of water. Thx!
Crab cakes cold and not up to usual standards
Nice location for a business lunch and handy spot for people coming from both VA and MD. Atmosphere was nice and quiet when we arrived as we got in around 12 noon. Quickly built up and every table was full by about 12.30 - nice buzz. Not annoying and felt nice to be out and about again after Covid lockdown. Staff were attentive to the outside tables, everyone dining came wearing masks and only removed while eating. All staff also wearing masks. We all ordered something different but portion in the pasta was tiny for the price and would not by any means fill someone up - if it was a lunch price, i'd understand but wasnt. Salads were okay. Shrimp volume was generous but our colleague felt her salt was boring. Personally I think its hard to get a really good salad that isnt boring so she was right to be sorry she didnt go for the burger or the pizzas which we saw coming out and they looked signficantly better both in portion, size and price. Would go again but will be smarter in our choices.
The waiters were sometimes slow to respond (perhaps they were short staffed). When I asked for a white wine spritzer, they didn't know what it was. Although I explained what it was, it was too sweet--probably made with Sprite instead of Club Soda.
My guest started with gazpacho which she said was the "best she ever had" (it included watermelon). My ahi tuna, medium rare, was excellent, with leftovers for the next day. Outdoor patio seating was delightful on a summer evening.
Very pleasant outdoor seating on a raised patio with lots of distance between tables. Child- and dog-friendly. Food is standard American, plenty of free parking, my go-to place when I want to catch up with friends.
Excellent caesar salad and crab cake sandwich, good desserts and excellent service - nice experience, no complaints!
The outside seating was comfortable and safe. Our server was amazing!
Like coming home. Missed all the terrific waitstaff during the pandemic
Service and food are always great. The consistency is a reason we keep coming back (and the cauliflower).
They are doing an outstanding job with safe, outdoor seating and service. It is the only place I've gone during these crazy pandemic times! They are also doing delicious meals for carryout/delivery that are wonderful.
Good food!!! Thanks so much. Would go back again.
This restaurant has one of the best outdoor patios - spacious, raised above the street and nicely shaded with umbrellas and trees. Extensive menu - delicious fish tacos and crab cake sandwich, generous portions, especially the sorbet, comes in three huge scoops, very refreshing on a hot day.
Food was good as always. Wait staff was wonderful. Outdoor seating was great. So nice to be able to go back to chef Geoff's.. it's a neighborhood gem
Service and food here is always outstanding! Love the outdoor seating, especially now.
Sitting outside was lovely. The food was average - my asparagus was overcooked and the mashed potatoes not very warm but overall it was okay. We said later though that we remember the food at Chef Geoff's better in the past. Maybe we just were a bit unlucky with our choices that night. The service was good up to the point where we got the check and the server had put in the wrong prices for both our entrees, charging us $30 more than on the menu. When we pointed this out to him he was nice though and changed the bill accordingly. We would go back for the outdoor seating and the ambience but not because the food was outstanding.
Chef Geoff's is always reliably good. Plus, he is a good neighbor that we should all support during this time. Our patio table was very well-separated, everyone was wearing a mask and wait staff had on gloves and masks. this was our first restaurant meal in a restaurant since mid March, and Trump was apparently incorrect when he said it would just go away by the summer, so we really enjoyed having a meal served that wasn't in a to-go container and that we didn't have to do the dishes. Highly recommend the spinach and cheese pasta, and they let me substitute ice cream for yogurt with the mixed fresh berries, which were absolutely fresh and flavorful (and I didn't have to wash and hull them!) For only $5 extra, you can get the double crabcake entree, and the diner who ordered that only wanted one, so I asked her to order the double and I paid the difference -- my dog (with cancer) loved the crabcake! Everyone but me got the brussel sprouts and raved about them.
Food was very tasty, outdoor patio works great during Covid19 because there are very few people passing by. Fair prices for quality of food. Server was good, actual restaurant was slow overall and manager apologized. A neighborhood gem and reliably good food.
Always a winner. So glad to support local restaurants.
Great ambiance! Nice waiter! Wonderful accommodations for Covid! Very good good!
The crabcake I ordered was very salty and the corn relish was very spicy. I should have returned the crabcake right away but was hungry and didn't want to wait for another order. I did tell our waitress after the meal. Service was very good. Just the food was disappointing.
Chef Geoff Glover Park is our neighborhood go to. Rarely disappoints. We were seated promptly at outdoor table. Excellent spacing of tables put us at ease. We had the 3 course restaurant week special. I started thinking with fried calamari. Very light and fresh tasting. Not at all greasy. Main course was crab cakes. Served with baby potatoes and corn and tomato salsa. Crab cakes full of lump crab and very little filler. The crab fresh and sweet. Sides perfectly prepared and went well with the crab.
Desert was flourless chocolate cake with ice cream. Decadent.
A nice plus was being seated next to Geoff, Nora and family. It was great seeing them out on the patio enjoying a summer evening with their patrons.
Nice lunch outside
