We have been to Chef Geoff's several time and have had very nice meals. Unfortunately this time that was not the case. The burger was not cooked and out waiter seemed to have forgotten about us.
The food was amazing. The service was excellent. Definitely would go again
Great restaurant,! Went for restaurant week and had an amazing experience. Chef Geoff's offers their entire menue, not just select items. Will definitely be back!
My mom, myself and my sister decided to take advantage of Restaurant Week Brunch menu and had no problem making a reservation. We enjoyed the convenient parking in back and that the restaurant validated!
The options available for the $22 menu were good. Thoroughly enjoyed the blue cheese chips, hummus and spinach salad we all shared.
The entrees were tasty but not as expected. We shared the steak and eggs, the avocado toast and the chorizo & egg burrito. Just needed some additional seasoning or something was missing. However Mom enjoyed her avocado toast.to finish.we had some REALLY delicious blueberry crumble and chocolate chip cookies w/ ice cream!
Willing to try again but probably for lunch or dinner!
We have been wanting to visit Chef Geoff's for a long time. We went during Washington D.C. restaurant week, and usually place just give you a few choices from their menu. We were really happy to find out everything on the menu was available for you to order under the restaurant week menu. We had the Artichokes and the blue cheese chips as our appetizers, and they were both flavorful and delightful.
for dinner I had the crab cakes, and they were truly some of the best crab cakes I have had in The District. My wife enjoyed her mushroom pizza and we were lucky to bring our leftovers home. Over all, it was an outstanding dinning experience on Chef Geoff's patio.
It was a great atmosphere for our family dinner (8 of us). Food was good but not extraordinary. Service was good- our waiter kept the glasses filled and checked on us regularly. We had a mishap with 1 order, but generally a very nice evening.
Dined outside. Lovely night. Server was great. The food was great as usual. Very nice Cabernet.
We ate outside and both of us had a crab cake salad followed by a shared slice of chocolate fudge cake. We greatly enjoyed our lunch at Chef Geoff's .
It was the perfect place to meet an old friend and catch up over great food.
This is an affordable restaurant with a great outside patio. A nice place to meet friends in DC and enjoy the evening. No hassle parking. . . It's right behind the restaurant. The food was good and the service top-notch.
We always enjoy ourselves at CG but thought the menu a bit disappointing. In the summer they usually have seasonal dishes such as fresh corn-tomato risotto. This time seemed to have mundane selections like hamburgers and taco salad. It was a Sunday night so that may be the reason.
Chef Geoff’s weekly specials are consistently excellent. This first week in August is normally a very slow time for the restaurant, but the kitchen and waitstaff are not on vacation.
Chef Geoff's is a great go to place. If you lived in the neighborhood it would be your regular neighborhood restaurant. Menu always has a number of choices. Good selection of wines and beers. Service is always good. Will definitely go back.
I love Che Geoff's and today I took two neighbors who had never been here before. It was a lovely comfortable day so we decided to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful morning/early afternoon. The waiter was excellent, took drink orders and our food order when he returned with drinks. He checked in with us several times to make sure everything was fine. The breakfast food (classic scramble) was perfect, eggs done nicely, bacon crispy, potatoes just right and even the toast was perfect. One person got a vegetable salad with calamari and he smiled as he ate every last bit of it. Still my favorite neighborhood place to enjoy brunch, lunch or dinner.
I’d recommend -not for the food - but for the outdoor seating on a nice evening. Although many chips were on the ground and no one had bothered to clean that!!
Waitress was superb - nicely attentive and lovely demeanor. My dining partner lived her salad. My chicken was over cooked. I needed a steak knife to cut it! (Chicken Paillard).
Had a great lunch with friend . Good as always! Good place to talk.
Lovely place, especially for the nice terrace well separated from the road (must be perfect with small children).
The food was ok, but 3/4 dishes were too sweet for our taste.
We told our host it was our 46th anniversary, she had the bar send us a glass of champagne. What a way to start our meal off.
Last Friday night was a disappointment. For 3 reasons: 1. The usually crispy French fries w/ my wife's veggie burger were soggy. 2. My pepperoni pizza was smothered in wet arugula, resulting in a soggy pizza. 3. Our server became engaged in deep conversation with a couple at another table. Had her back to us for well over 5 minutes, when I was trying to ask for the check. When I got up and asked for it, she proceeded to start clearing our table than just going for the check. Summary: Chef & staff were not at their best, and one of the service staff could use some training.
Deandre is the best (and our favorite) waiter!!!!! Food is always delicious. Favs are pizza, mushroom ravioli and fish tacos!!!!
Chef Geoff's on New Mexico Ave is one of our favorite places, especially when the weather is nice and we can sit on the lovely and cool, shaded terrace. Service is the best - always friendly and accommodating. We take our dog, and they bring us a bowl of water for her, as well as great drinks for us! We will keep coming back, always.
Really great as always— a wonderful outdoor meal !— Fred Woodworth
My friend and I had the crab salad. It was outstanding and we told our server to let the Chef know that. Our server was helpful and informed and everything went very nicely.
Great deals, great happy hour, great customer service
A lovely dinner with friends! The sesame salmon was amazingly delicious. I’ve been going to this restaurant for decades and it is consistently good and always welcoming. A great neighborhood place!
Thanks Chef Geoff’s. We had a lot of family in town and everyone loved their Brunch and Bloodies!
We had an excellent lunch and appreciated being at Chef Geoff's. Wish the parking were totally complimentary.
our waiter was an idiot - ruined the surprise dessert for celebration by showing up with all the plates before the cake arrived - duh!
We enjoyed the outdoor patio at Chef Geoff's. The summer Cobb salad was great and the service was friendly and efficient. We'll be back!
This is my third visit to Chef Geoff where an unordered charge was added to the bill; in this case an additional entree. Makes one wonder if it is routine for servers to add additional charges, patron wont spit it. 😕
The food was good, the waitress from Dublin was terrific, but it was too expensive.
The brussels sprout starter used to be delicious. The cut of the sprouts is now difficult to chew. Ditto the artichoke hearts. Too bad.
Delicious lunch..excellent options for vegetarians...highly recommend!
Love sitting outside in the summer at Chef Geoff's. dinner was lovely
Our waitress was a very tall young woman from Ireland who was easily the best waitress I've ever had.
Thanks for taking the time to rate your Chef Geoff's-DC experience; it's greatly appreciated and we will share your rating with the team. Look forward to seeing you soon! Cheers, David Lynch General Manager
Very nice outside on a spring evening. Lots of families, two dogs.
Just ok. Restaurant temp was a bit warm and stuffy. Food not up to quality I remember but fine. Dessert was very good, cheesecake with berry compote made it all better. Service was

Another nice dinner at Chef Geoff's! We ahd the softshell crab sandwich with bacon which was excellent, similar for the curried chicken and the crabcake.
I used to love Chef Geoff's but I think they have spread their talent too thin as they have expanded.
The food was incredibly bland for all three of the adults. The waiter was very nice, but the kitchen quite slow.
I was sick that night, and my wife was sick a couple years ago after a meal there. (and we aren't drinkers, so its not that.)
we really loved the place--even had our engagement party there back in 2005. such a disappointment. won't go there again.
