Cheever's Cafe Ratings and Reviews
My husband and I had a wonderful meal at Cheevers. We were celebrating his birthday, and he is a foodie. The food was a delicious and creative blend of southern and tex mex food - a real Oklahoma-style cuisine! We are from the east coast, so we found that fun and authentic. Our waiter was friendly and attentive, and the drinks and food were all creative and delicious. The price was definitely a good deal. We would recommend it highly!
Everyone else got chicken fried steak, and thought it was very good. I got chicken and thought it was good. The desserts, however, were great. We had the sweet biscuits with berries and cream and the ice cream bomb. Both were outstanding.
To the extent there was an issue, it was that the heating was uneven. Every 10 minutes or so, a blower would turn on somewhere, and the area we were sitting in became very drafty and cold. The place closed down fairly early. We were the last table occupied, and were acutely aware that no one else was in the place, so we shouldn't linger.
I’m a long time fan of Cheevers. It never disappoints! I like so many things on the menu and this time I ordered the cauliflower bread pudding. It’s fabulous in it’s own as a vegetarian dish, but I wanted more protein. Our server suggested adding salmon. It was perfect!!
Had dinner here with our daughter, who was visiting from Oregon. Our server was wonderful and very helpful with her suggestions and descriptions. My husband's halibut was excellent. My daughter had a pasta dish that was also very good. I tried the savory bread pudding and really enjoyed it. Our wine choice (Lola Pinot Noir) went perfectly with eerything and was a suggestion from our server. We finished with the 7-layer chocolate cake, which was decadent and wonderful. My only complaint as that we were seated in the "2nd" room, away from the prettier main room. It was an 8:30 reservation, so the restaurant wasn't crowded and we would have preferred to be the main room. Of course, we could have asked, but didn't want to short the server on a table. Food was great, though, and we will return.
My husband and I really enjoyed our meal. Our server, Rachel was attentive and informative but never intrusive. We started with the November Rain cocktail which i loved. Then our calamari appetizer was the best calamari I’ve ever had. For dinner I had the mixed seafood tamales which were very tasty. My husband had the chicken fried steak which didn’t even require a knife to cut. He gave me a couple of bites and it was outstanding. Then to finish we had the sweet pecan covered ice cream. Oh my, just wonderful. It was even complimentary as we were there for our anniversary. The atmosphere was cozy and comfortable and not at all pretentious. Needless to say we will be back!
I drove here for my birthday after researching online! They did NOT disappoint! Food, service, and ambiance was excellent and more than I could ask for my birthday dinner! I would HIGHLY recommend this restaurant a million times over! I'm definitely going back!
I can always count on Cheever’s for a great dining experience!
Everything from the Farm to Table Shiraz to the quinoa/avocado salad... Their incredible Chicken Fried Steak and rounding it off with the famous Pecan Ice Cream Ball.
Great service from Kyle as well... she was great!
Our anniversary brunch was pretty disappointing. Chicken and waffles was so disappointing. The waffle was cold when we got it so we ordered another....it and came cold too. The chicken had no flavor and was a very small piece. We expected better from all the great reviews. So disappointing.
