Love this place, but second time we had really slow service and food was delivered lukewarm.
Our server, Joseph, took very good care of us. We enjoyed our French onion soup, spinach salad, chicken saltimbocca, and pimento grilled cheese. The wine that Joseph recommended went well with our choices. We had a very enjoyable evening.
Cheesetique was fabulous! The food was awesome! We went for brunch and loved the menu selection. I would also love to go at dinner to try that menu as well. The place is charming!
Amazing romantic place to eat lovely cheese and wine!
Food was pretty good but service was terrible. We were told they were out of something, ordered a different dish and were then served (and paid) for both. Wrong dishes brought out including Mac n cheese with lobster instead of vegetarian to a table with a vegetarian and two shellfish allergies. Everything took forever and bill was wrong.
It was a very disappointing dining experience. The wine was a bit overpriced given the variety they had. I have 2 food allergies and was informed modifications could not be made to the entrees which greatly limited my options. The service was terrible with one of our servers spilling quite a bit of wine on the table because she was in such a bother. It was just very disappointing over all.
Cheesetique is a cozy, intimate experience. The cheesesteak and the mac & cheese were delicious. Great wine selection too. Having a suggested wine pairing for each menu item is a welcome addition. For an added bonus, dining with them earns a discount from their wonderful selection of cheeses in the storefront.
Our group of 8 met in the quiet and charming back room. The food was terrific but unfortunately the service was very spotty and extremely slow. Perhaps they were understaffed...?
Nice lunch, Maggie wonderful waitress. Relaxed atmosphere enjoyed during Christmas rush.
We went for brunch. Food was fantastic! Bloody mary was only ok.
Most laid back of the other locations which is why I like it
The server was not bad at all. Probably just needs some training to be more aware of where we were in the meal and getting the table cleared. the back room at the Del Ray location is super comfortable and quaint. You feel like you are in a speakeasy or the like. Thanks for a great evening Cheesetique!
I LOVE this place! It was so cozy! I always get the same thing and I'm ok with that, don't ever take the Grown Up Grilled Cheese off the menu! Oh - my Malbec was fab, too! THANK YOU!!!!
Very good food and drinks. Nice warm environment. The staff was busy but very nice and helpful.
Reserved a able and it was ready when we arrived.
Food was good but not exceptional. I think they emphasize their cheeses more than the food around the cheese.
Busy day. Service was very good but not always available.
Fabulous food, just what we needed on a cold night. Great wine and warm cheese
Needed to hide out during trick or treat.
Everything was great - our server was wonderful and helped to make it an enjoyable evening.
We had to remind the waiter about our last dish, which he forgot to put the ticket in, so we had to wait for a while for the last dish to come out. He did not apologize for the wait or for the service. Unprofessional.
We love this place. Good food. Good wine. Good service.
Great foodie experience. Was able to buy a bottle of the wine we tried!
I rarely write reviews, but there is little that irritates me more than a restaurant that does not appear to want your business. Food was good just like the Shirlington location. There were minor hiccups like the rose flight, which did not match what the menu said. Or the waiter never bringing more water. But the most annoying aspect of the evening was the waitress who asked if we wanted a dessert menu. We said yes. She brought us the check instead. We were never offered any more drinks (which we gladly would have had) much less dessert. And believe me, it’s not like they needed the table for more customers...and it was 90 minutes short of closing time. We happily went to another bar who actually seemed to want the money we were willing to give them. We will not be returning to this location.
This was my first time there with my son and his partner and it was really good for lunch. Very enjoyable and highly recommended.
Great food for cheese lovers of all kinds! So happy with the gluten free options. The wine selection is superb also. I had GF Mac n cheese, the Brussels sprouts with Gorgonzola and the pimento grilled cheese. They even take the care to toast it in a separate toaster! The service however was slow and the space it confining which leaves room to improve the dining experience. They do validate parking which is a nice touch.
Restaurant was not crowded, but food/service was so slow that after 40 minutes and only being served our appetizer we asked for the check and left to get dinner somewhere else. A table was seated well after we arrived and ordered, and still received their meal before our food came out. They did not charge us for the app/drinks, which was kind, but aside from telling us the kitchen was losing tickets (I ordered a cheese board, which doesn't go through the kitchen) and that our food would be out next (it wasn't), no one acknowledged that there was an issue or tried to fix the problem until we asked for the check.
This is not our normal experience here but it is worth noting. We will go back, but it will be a while before we're willing to try it again.
Have eaten at restaurant scores of times and purchase cheese on a regular basis.
Unlikely to return. Server was the worst!
We love Cheesetique as it always has outstanding service and delicious food! As can be expected, this was an awesome experience!
No water service (or water bottle) provided during entire brunch, limited vegetarian options, 30-minute wait for first item ordered. Food itself was great. Bathrooms are well-maintained.
I was pleasantly surprised by this location. Previous experience at the ballston location was not good. Here they sat us in the back room which had a really great ambiance. The buffalo mozzarella caprese was very fresh and tasty! The Mac and cheestique was delicious to share.
Very disappointed with hostess. Even though back room was open she tried to seat me in front dining room. I requested booth in back when I made reservation through open table. She tried to tell me only 2 or 3 seatings would be made in the back room hesitating to seat me but she finally gave in. As I sat there 3-4 seatings were made and I suspect more after I left. I was so disappointed with Cheesetique when previous experiences were good. If I return I will not be seated by here and will request to see a manager.
Really enjoyed their restaurant week - and lucky me - it was $5 wine Wednesday! Very happy with this experience. The cheese plate was just right. Everything tasted good. Pimiento cheese sandwich, the mac and cheese. All yum. Shared w/SO and was enough for us. Really nice spot for a weeknight out.
A fun alternative dining experience. So many cheeses, and a nice selection of wine.
Really great that can buy cheeses, meats, and wine from the front of the restaurant that might have eaten during the meal.
We went for lunch durung restaurant week and ate from the seceial menu. The food was very good - a small cheese palte, a nice selection for a main course and chocolate mousse. Just enough to feel full but not stuffed. The wine and other beverage slection is excellent. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable. Best of all, you get a 10% discount in the store, which has a great selection of cheeses and complementary goodies, plus wine. Love this place.
Food was awesome and super reasonable pricing. Table in back was great for our larger group with kids!
We had a great time at brunch! The brunch tacos were delicious and I thoroughly enjoyed my Bloody Mary!! Will be back soon!!
Great date night location especially when both of love cheese.
Love Cheestique. Always reliable. Good soup/sandwich/salad deal!
Wonderful!! We truly enjoyed our meal!! Highly recommend.
Yummy food and good wine. Nice people and great neighborhood
Really expensive for a very basic grilled cheese. Comes on sourdough which was thin sliced and basically tasted like white bread and was panini pressed which dried out the bread. The tomato soup was good but also way overpriced for what it was. Mac n cheese was good, not great.
