Cheers at The Old Post Office
About the Building
Built in 1911, this historic building began its important role in the Fayetteville community as the city Post Office. In 1974 it was saved from demolition by a citizen-led petition, and gained National Historic status. We are honored to continue the tradition of bringing people together and celebrating the citys history in the beautiful Old Post Office.
Consistently solid dining spot! We eat here every time we are in Fayetteville.
as always cheers at the old post office was awesome - food, service, environment
Solid restaurant! Food & service are consistent. We literally eat here every time we’re in Fayetteville
Great experience! A must try for Fayetteville.
We celebrated family birthday at Cheers at the Old Post Office and had a lovely brunch. The food and service were fantastic. I highly recommend.
Parents weekend brunch! It was awesome, our server was so friendly!!
Great food, great atmosphere and was priced well.
This was our second experience with Sunday brunch. The brunch menu is limited but the food is good. Bacon & eggs, crab Benedict, shrimp & grits are good selections. If you’re in to mimosa, they have a Sunday special.
Great casual fare and casual restaurant! Nice atmosphere and a festive game weekend crowd! Definitely will come back!
Food was wonderful and our waiter was friendly and prompt. The atmosphere was exciting.
I always eat here when I come into town. The food, service and atmosphere are ALWAYS awesome!!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE Cheers!
Cheers provided our family with great food and excellent service! I would definitely consider returning on our next visit to Fayetteville.
We had a lovely brunch outside on the patio. The service and food were both to notch. We can’t wait to go back!
First time there and we were really happy to have brunch on Saturday during the Fayetteville Farmer’s Market. Nice ambiance and socially distanced tables, with all staff in masks, so it felt very safe. Both of our choices were excellent! Big servings too. Excellent brunch place!
Great place. Food is awesome. Service great. Handled COVID issues perfectly. Great to see the OPO look so new again!
Terrific, neat place with good eats and drinks.
All dishes we tried had a very elegant taste. The environment and service is excellent.
Great restaurant! Service was awesome! Food was great!
Good food. Great service. Very friendly staffers.
Great casual atmosphere and great casual food! Great place to sit, relax, and enjoy your friends. Food was very solid and offered a wide variety! Will definitely go back when I return to Fayetteville.
Great service. Will go back soon! Perfect spot for celebrating a birthday.
Great food and ambiance
Food was ok, nothing spectacular. Waitress was slow and forgot about us often.... maybe low staffing levels? Carrot cake was like eating sand, don’t order. Have had better here, was disappointed but will try again.
We arrived early and were seated promptly at a very nice table location. Our waiter was friendly and helpful but not intrusive. We both enjoyed our entrees and the appetizer was delicious.
We had a lovely dinner at Cheers. The service was attentive. Food was delicious. I had the scallops, my husband had the ribeye with crab cakes for a starter. All well prepared and tasty. It is a bit noisy and we are hard of hearing so I would ask for a booth or quieter table (we were in the middle) the next time we go.
so cool and huge restaurant!! lot’s of different food options!
We say our table for 10 minutes before a server acknowledged us. Then another server brought us someone else good because she clearly didn’t know the table numbers. Then our food can put before our appetizer which our server clearly forgot. He then brought it after our meals where over and it was cold. The actually meals which we did eat were pretty good and the saving grace of the whole disaster.
Mashed potatoes and filet were salty. Filet was also dry and not wrapped in bacon as advertised. Greens were too sweet and not flavorful. Fried green tomatoes were excellent.
Very enjoyable experience. Loved the ambiance of the building and everything inside. We had very good service. Flavor of food and drinks was very good. There are other things I want to go back and try (we had steak). The only thing that felt weird, was no bread with dinner. For a place with food like this, we thought maybe there should have been? Its mid ranged price so its not like were robbed or anything. I want to go back on a less busy night to see what its like then. Maybe look around more.
Nice supper on the square. Love the location.
We had reservations for Valentine's Day. Our table was within 5 ft.of the hostess stand and front door. Food just so-so, definitely not worth the price. Sweet server who appeared to have too many tables to serve. Overall not a high end restaurant. Perhaps the quality of the food was the most disappointing. Marking Cheers off our list.
Excellent service and food. Attentive waiter, very patient with our weird receipt requests (dinner was part of a job interview for a UA position, so it was complicated). Fried artichoke hearts to die for; same for grilled shrimp and fries. It was too noisy for what we were doing; a corner and/or round table would have worked better. Great job! We will be bringing other candidates for dinner!
The food ,drinks and service are great. Try the crab cakes when you go! One of our favorite spots in Fayetteville.
Despite having a reservation, we were seated downstairs in the casual area rather than in the main restaurant area. The temperature in the room was 62 degrees according to the thermostat on the wall. They had electric radiators around but they were not working. Everyone in this level of the restaurant was wearing our coats. It was freezing. The food was good. The service was very slow and the bar couldn’t keep up with the drink orders. Maybe they can iron out these issues and improve but we will look elsewhere next time.
Great food. Our waitress was fantastic. Good atmosphere. Located in an old post office.
We had one member of our party of 6 receive their food 10 minutes after the rest of us. My salad was not chopped as described on menu and steak over cooked
Very nice and delicious.
