Che Figata delivers Italian-to-table cuisine, characterized by its simple preparation and authentic ingredients. Equal parts modern and rustic, Che Figata is warm, welcoming and, above all, delicious.
Che Figata is a unique dining venue offering an authentic market as well! The architectural structure and interior designs allow the venue to be perceived as one of the most attractive environments in the restaurant industry while adding a personal touch from original pieces of artwork as a décor accent in the venue.
Not attended to well enough. Server made it seem as though it was an issue for us to order more food after placing our orders for main entrees. Possibly discriminated against slightly due to our young age - other tables were shown much more attention.
The food was just okay. It was actually a bit bland for an Italian restaurant. Both of our drinks had to be sent back because they were properly made. Our server, though nice, rarely checked on us after we placed our order. All of these and the price point averages $50 per person. For that price, the food, drinks and service should have been better.
We went to Che Figata with 2 other couples for Valentine's Day. Stopped in Zorba to have a cocktail -expertly made manhattans and a glass of wine. The dining room was full of 2 tops as you would imagine on VD day - they had a great pre fixe meal for 2 - but we opted to order off the menu and share - the roasted oysters were delicious - and everyone ordered a different main to share - tomahawk bonein shortrib was simply epic, crusted prime rib, carved beef tenderloin, roasted chicken and a fantastic white fish all were fantastic - truly a great dining experience!
This was our first visit to Che Figata and it was a wonderful experience. We will definitely be returning. Waiter was fantastic.
Lunch for three. Started with a pizza. Delicious. Very fresh ingredients! Everyone had different things all to rave reviews. I had the sandwich with the Italian meats. WOW is all I can say. Lot's of food and fun! I am a big fan!
We took advantage of the current $20/person family style Sunday special. Everything was delicious in generous portions. If forced to criticize something I’d say the ragu was a tad salty for my palate but that’s quite subjective. We ordered two bottles from the wine list and were supplied with fresh clean stems for the second bottle. This was my third visit and we will definitely return in the next few weeks.
My dinner was not cold but not really hot. Waiter broke wine glass accidentally and apologized but only comp was free dessert
Good food, good service and reasonable noise level.
I will eat there again.
The food is thoughtful and extremely well executed. Octopus is absolutely ridiculously good. Highly recommended.
It was eccezionale!!!! From Chef du Cuisine Nate to our server Justin to of course the food!!! We sat at the counter to see all the food moving through the restaurant. Sad to hear that the Porchetta may be coming off the menu as it was eccezionale!!! Looking forward to my next visit.
Excellent food, Justin was an incredible server, we will definitely be coming back.
Ambiance is so-so. Very nice wine list covering all regions of Italy. Food was delicious!! We had the octopus cicchetti to start. I had the short rib ravioli and my husband had the langostino pasta. Needless to say, we didn't bring anything home. Will be back to try their pizza.
Great experience, sat at the counter and watched them prepare our meal. Everything tasted excellent.
Last minute date since our original plans changed. Ordered a 3 course Restaurant week special and porchetta. The 3 course meal had 1 seared scallops over polenta (scallop was tender), main dish was a take on seafood paella. Basically a combo of arrabbiata sauce with acini de pepe and some clams and mussels. It was ok but I can’t picture paella. It was too soupy. For the porchetta, the server was right, it was a little too salty and spicy served with a few potatoes. Maybe as a sandwich would be better. Last was the warm Apple bread pudding. That was pretty good. Maybe my palate needed something sweet and creamy after the dishes before.
Over the place was nice. Had great parking right outside. The seats at the bar facing the kitchen was nice and our server was good.
Delicious food. Great service. Perfect for date night.
This restaurant came highly recommended. We went early @ 4:45 but they were doing some kind of class with their employees so numerous people came to the table which was very confusing. We also watched the hostess get reprimanded in front of us for not paying attention, and a worker had her young daughter following her around which seemed very unprofessional! Very uncomfortable atmosphere for a high priced restaurant. Food was mediocre but wine selection was good. Overall disappointed but would give them a second chance due to the nice wait staff & training class!
Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu and wine pairing. Very helpful and made our dining experience enjoyable. Her recommendations were delicious.
Visited during restaurant week. Enjoyed the pre fixed meal with wine pairings. Ample wine pour with each course. We did have to ask for the restaurant week menu and initial service was a bit slow. Once orders were placed staff did come by several times to check to make sure things were going well and we had what we needed.
Great food. Desert was amazing. Wine selection wonderful.
Best Italian I've had in the western burbs. Plan on going back soon.
Went for first time during restaurant week,
Both ordered from the special menu. Both we tasty and presented well. Would go back again to try regular menu
Fantastic food and wine menu. We definitely enjoyed our visit. We will be back again
Food is consistently very good from steak to seafood. We opted to sit in bar area of adjacent hotel, much quieter. There was no seating in restaurant despite having reservations. Another patron had same problem. We asked for a wine recommendation and were provided with a wonderful selection.
This was our first time here and we really enjoyed it. I had the restaurant week prime rib special and it was fantastic. My wife had the beef tenderloin and it was also very good. Lots of different options so I’m sure we’ll be back to try more of the traditional Italian dishes on the menu
We went for Naperville Restaurant Week and enjoyed the dinner with wine pairings. Great value, great food, great service. Parallel parking with no valet in winter is a negative though; it’s not like it’s a city location.
Very good if staying at the hotel. Also nice, if you want an alternative restaurant, outside of downtown Naperville.
Amazing menu and food. The service was attentive and our server offered great recommendations
Food very good, wine prices high per glass. Waiter was new, was trying but needed direction. Manager came over to take drink orders and did check in, which helped. Food came out hot, food runners perfect. I would try it again.
We decided to sit in the bar for drinks and dinner because when we arrived the dining room seemed pretty noisy. The bar area was quiet and we were able to converse easier. We were greeted after about ten minutes by a bartender and trainee. Service was as good as expected with everything the bartender had to deal with. The trainee seemed to need a lot of direction.
Overall I must say the good we ordered was very delicious. We had homemade rigatoni, osso bucco, pizza and a wonder salary with arugula and lemoncelli vinaigrette. Desert was tiramisu served in small individual bites- not the norm but very good.
We came to celebrate two birthdays, and got the "VIP" treatment. We were sat at the bar, which was very nice. The food was excellent, especially the spare rib soup! Big portions for the cost, excellent service from Chef Tyler and our server.
The service and food was great. Will definitely return for Naperville’s Restaurant Week specials!
Great fresh ingredients and creative menu. We had the prime rib special and it was fantastic.
The food was very good, but it was obvious that the staff is inexperienced or is simply not quite competent. They ran about confused much of the time. We weren’t even given a wine list when we were seated. Hopefully, they will improve with time, for, as I said, the food is very good.
This was a very interesting meal.
It started out with a very pleasant waiter that brought us water, took our drink order, and then brought us some bread and olive oil that was outstanding. There was what seemed like a tomato reduction or compote served within the bowl of olive oil that was also fabulous. At this point I was starting to salivate like Pavlov's dogs, anticipating an unbelievable meal. We ordered the prosciutto, fig, blue cheese and honey appetizer along with the octopus appetizer. The former when combined all together was the single best bite I had all night. The octopus was also very good, but a touch towards being a bit heavy handed with the heat/spiciness of the dish. Next came entrees and sides. I had the Osso Buco, and my wife had the Lasagna. The Osso Buco was served over polenta, and while the meat was as tender as it could possibly be, the portion was a little small and the dish overall was bland. It needed salt for sure, and IMHO, it would have benefitted from the punch of a traditional gremolata. The lemon juice, garlic and parsley would have added some depth of flavor that was missing. My wife's lasagna was very nice, but not something that I would run home and tell the neighbors that they had to try.
Our sides were mediocre to bad. We ordered the duck fat potatoes and the roasted Brussels Sprouts. The potatoes were the biggest miss of the night. I've cooked with duck fat before, and it usually adds a sumptuous texture and flavor to everything. In this case, the potatoes tasted as though the duck fat was rancid. They left a bitter, almost metallic after taste in our mouths, and lacked any seasoning whatsoever. A pinch of Kosher salt sprinkled on top after removing them from the fat is often all it takes to impart a nice flavor. Will give Che Figata another try in hopes that this was just an off night.
Not sure I'd go back to this place. We had a reservation on New Year's Eve and they clearly did not have enough servers. We waited soooo long for a drink and equally long for our food. The food was good, but just couldn't get the service you'd expect with a pricey meal. Too bad.
Fantastic food! Fantastic service!!
this was our second time here. it wasnt as good as the first time but i think that is because it was their first time hosting new years eve. Service was dreadfully slow, the wine pairing was not worth the money. i will go here again on a normal weekend to give it another chance again. i think they just had an off night.
Chef Mark asked me to come back after my first review to try the octopus small plate again. I did just that over a week ago and brought along another couple of friends who have never dined here before. We brought a couple bottles of our favorite wine and the restaurant uncorked them for a $20 fee per bottle. Our server was Sue, who was friendly and attentive and provided very good service. Our group started out with the bone marrow small plate and the octopus small plate. The octopus did not disappoint. It was grilled perfectly with a nice char served with house made giardiniera and grilled bread. However, HUGE disappointment with the bone marrow. I’ve had bone marrow many times in many different restaurants and have never had it served out of the bone smeared on a crusty garlic roll. First, the menu description mentioned crostini which is much different than the roll presented on the plate. The description also never mentioned that the bone marrow was smeared on the bread. The marrow was so lost between the overpowering garlic and the cheese spread on top. There were four rolls on the plate with some accoutrements. I hope they seriously considering revamping this dish. That was the only disappointment of our dining experience, though. All of our entrées were spot on from the ossobuco, to the swordfish, to the rigatoni with meatballs, short ribs & Italian sausage to my branzino. after our dinners, we all shared the triple gelato which was amazing. The coconut was definitely all of our favorite. I highly recommend dining at this restaurant. We will definitely be back. And I so appreciate that Chef Luis came out to discuss the bone marrow. It shows that they care!
