We went for my birthday. Overall, the food was delicious. The lighting was very dim, which made it difficult to read the menu. We were hoping that since we were there for a special occasion (and it was stated on the reservation) that we could’ve had a booth but that wasn’t offered to us. Again, overall, the food was delish. The service was great. We would’ve just liked to have had the option of a booth and a bit brighter lighting so we could read the menu a little better.
My Wife and I had a wonderful time and will be back
Great food and service. Music was a bit loud when we first got there, but as soon as our server took our drink order, the music was softer without us having to ask. Love the locally sourced food and handmade pastas. Would love to have a few more vegetarian options that are a bit lighter. Otherwise fabulous!
Server, manager, as well as chef stopped by to check on us. Food was outstanding l. Highly recommend!
I’ve been to Che Figata many times before, but not under the new ownership and chef. I was disappointed with my experience this time. Our young waitress kept on saying that she was Italian but yet when we asked questions was unsure of things. I finally told her I was 100% Italian that ended that. I really wanted the grilled octopus appetizer and she told me that she wouldn’t recommend it because it was rubbery. I’m glad I didn’t listen to her because it was the best thing I ate that evening. I thought the octopus was grilled perfectly and was tender. The bread served was good and came with a red pepper and olive oil dipping sauce. The wine list is decent as well. My husband and I shared the prosciutto & fig pizza. It was flavorful, but the crust was not the Neapolitan type that is thin and crusty with air pockets. I was expecting a more traditional type pizza that I enjoy in Italy when I saw the pizza oven in the kitchen. I ordered the burrata & beet salad, but was very disappointed when it was just round pieces of beets with orange segments and four generous portions of the burrata, no greens. I wanted more salad and this was definitely a starter dish to share. I was thinking I would get more of a salad-type dish since it was under the “insalata” section. It came with a quality pieces of grilled bread and I did enjoy the orange and beet combination. I ended up taking three burrata rounds home as one person could not eat four huge balls of cheese. Well, at least this person couldn’t. My husband had the Ragu della Domenica, rigatoni with meatballs & sausage. It lacked flavor although it did look appetizing. I also missed the crema di limoncello that Sonny use to make at the bar. It was another disappointment for me. I really looked forward to having that after dinner, but it wasn’t offered anymore. Overall, I won’t be back to this restaurant because it didn’t hold up to all my other visits. Sad.
Incredible. Food, service.. everything. Incredible
Loved this place in the past. Wonder if there was a management change. Nothing special on the menu. NO craft cocktail menu or suggestions. Won’t go back.
We came here for an anniversary date and will absolutely be back. The staff was exceptionally friendly and welcoming, the dining area was cozy and inviting, and the food was out of this world. We tried each course including a signature pizza, and everything was on point - cooked well, presented artistically, and tasted delicious. Dessert was divine as well! We highly recommend dining here!
A very enjoyable dining experience. Service was very efficient and knowledgeable.
My wife and I both thought Che was good....not great, not bad, but solidly good. I enjoyed the Lasagna. My wife's swordfish was a little dry. The service was okay, in light of this whole industry's staffing issues, but certainly not outstanding. Our waiter was pleasant and busy, even thought the place was only at about 75% capacity. The room is nice; not really warm and inviting, but certainly not cheaply done. The space in dominated by a huge half-moon bar that really did not seem to be functioning as a bar, but more of overflow from the kitchen. There was no bartender there and no one interested in it a place to sit. I don't know if that was just the night we were there (which was a Saturday night), but it seemed weird that this huge dominant focal point was more of an ignored space than a useful part of the restaurant. It was also odd that there was a little "shop" area with half-filled shelves of sauces and pre-packaged food. Maybe that is because the restaurant is attached to a hotel?
Overall, it was an OK place to eat with decent food, but I do not know if we are going to make it part of our regular rotation. But, then again, I wouldn't tell anyone NOT to go there. It was that kind of place.
What a gem! I wouldn't have known of this restaurant had it not been for Open Table and I will definitely be back. We went for our 15th wedding anniversary and had incredible service and fantastic food. There was a beautiful wine pairing dinner going on during our dinner and I would love to attend one of those in the future because it looked amazing and well-executed. Thank you!
Great for a date night with a child (and their friend :) Very kid-friendly while still being very upscale (tricky to pull off). The kid's peperoni pizza is really good. Amazing pasta!
We had a wonderful celebratory dinner. It was quiet because most diners opted to eat outside while my son and I ate in the dining room. The food was great & we can't wait to go back
Such a wonderful experience for a date night. Atmosphere, service, food & drinks- all top notch! Highly recommend!
Loved the Caesar salad, pasta, and tart dessert! The servers were great too.
Our servers were attentive but explained short staff issues. Food ok but a bit undercooked (lobster) and overcooked. It was a pleasant experience overall.
Our waitress was outstanding with recommendations and appropriate timing with checking in and food delivery. We were not rushed. I ordered the short rib ravioli which was outstanding. My date order the burrata tortellini; also very good. DO NOT LEAVE WITHOUT ORDERING THE CANNOLI, even if you have to take it to go. SINFULL!!
The food was decent and the atmosphere was good. We were, however seated next to a party room, so it was very loud until the party left. We saw our waitress to order, when she filled up our waters and when the bill came and that was it. Never offered anything else to drink after our order was placed other than water and the beer my boyfriend was already drinking. Other staff members took care of us.
The meal my boyfriend had could have been bigger for the price. He said it was very good but not for the price.
Staffing is a problem for almost all restaurants these days and especially connected with hotels that gave 6-7 weddings on weekend...so even delayed seating on reservation in weekend...but nonetheless best restaurant in Wheaton/Naperville are so worth the wait and weight!
Have been there only a few times but every time it is amazing. Our most recent visit we were celebrating our anniversary and it was phenomenal. Food was beautiful and ever so tasty. All of the staff was kind and welcoming. Thank you for making our special night even more special!
We arrived for our 6:30 reservation to be told there was a 40 minute delay due to a shortage of wait staff and kitchen help. Plus there was a larger than normal wine tasting dinner active taxing the already short staff. We only had to wait 10 minutes to be seated and order our first course. The service was wonderful if a bit "leisurely". OK with us, we were enjoying the superb food. We were kept informed about the progress of the meal and made to feel that Che Figata's staff was interested in presenting a pleasant experience. We had a great time and enjoyed the food.
Loved our experience and the food!
Very professional servers. Good food.
We had a great meal! Will definitely be back soon.
Great food and even better service. Will definitely go back.
When we arrived the Hostess immediately asked us to sit in a small area next to the bar in the Hotel and NOT in the restaurant . I said No I want the experience of the restarant.
There were plenty of tables and theyu wanted to set us off to the side. We ate here before the covid and the quality of the service and the food was much better then then Now !! we'll wait for a whle to see if they get their food and ambiance back.....
Like many restaurants recently they were short on wait-staff, so we appreciated their efforts at doing their best. Waiter was very pleasant and kept us informed of delays.
Wonderful service and outstanding food.
Giovanni was an excellent server, made great recommendations, the rest of the staff was super help and friendly. The food was amazing! Unique & traditional presentation, amazing flavors. We will be back!
Had Spring vegetable gnocchi last time which was amazing and this time had mushroom risotto which was phenomenal!!! Highly recommend!! Great service as well! Our waiter was wonderful!!!
Always so impressed with this place. Italian food the way Italians eat!!!
I would not have known or tried this place had it not been one of the restaurants listed giving special discounts associated with an event I was attending nearby. I AM SO HAPPY I DID! The other guest with me tried a couple daily specials and I got a couple off the menu. They were appetizer sized so we could try some different items without committing to a whole entree. This was the way to go. Delicious food and our server, Sue, was attentive, pleasant and knew the menu. She was able to answer questions about the dishes and made a couple adjustments for us (items on the side, etc). Go here people! We need places like this to last and that can only happen with patronage.
We went for Father’s Day. Sat outside. The food was very good and the service was outstanding. Our 96 year old father’s first outing in 15 months due to Covid. A great first meal out.
As always everything was amazing! Food, service,Drinks all 5 stars! This is one of our go to.
First time my husband and I ever tried Che FiGata. It was delicious! If you like Italian, you will love Che FiGata. I had the vegetables with gnocchi. As I previously said, delicious!!
The food was good, but it took over an hour for the food to arrive. Also, I showed up early for my reservation, there were plenty of tables available, but they still made me wait. Finally, although the food and drinks were good, it was all overpriced for what you get.
The service was subpar. Food was good but one dish was prepared incorrectly. Waited a really long time for drink refills.
Exceptional. Mixology was unique and fun. Arugula salad was delightfully green fresh and touched with just the right amount of flavor treats. Short rib ravioli al dente to perfection and delicious. Lamb shank . . touch it with your knife and fell off the bone. Plating beautiful and done with care. Service super pro, knowledgeable and friendly. OUTSTANDING.
Food was pretty good. Service was a little off. Nevertheless, I would go back.
