Che Figata delivers Italian-to-table cuisine, characterized by its simple preparation and authentic ingredients. Equal parts modern and rustic, Che Figata is warm, welcoming and, above all, delicious.
Che Figata is a unique dining venue offering an authentic market as well! The architectural structure and interior designs allow the venue to be perceived as one of the most attractive environments in the restaurant industry while adding a personal touch from original pieces of artwork as a décor accent in the venue.
We came here today for valentines and despite some of the negative reviews on here, this place was GREAT! We had the suppli and Italian wedding soup as an appetizer and both tasted amazing. For dinner we had pasta, the ragu and bolongese and both as well tasted good and were seasoned well. For dessert we had the tiramisu and cannoli and the cherry cannoli was our favorite of the three. Our server Osvaldo was very attentive, professional, knowledgeable and very nice. We were very blown away by his service. We will definitely be requesting him when we return. Overall we had a great dinner and cannot complain.
Salad and soup plates were never cleared (despite empty) until the table was cleaned for dessert. Check was brought in before dessert menu even discussed.
Valentines Day and celebration of a promotion
First of all I’m not sure who’s fault it was Open table or the restaurant, reservation was automatically canceled right before my time so I had to call the restaurant and re-confirm they said it was some kind of glitch in the system.
Lighting in restaurant very poor way too bright, ambience not warm or cozy.
No tablecloths and tables didn’t seem too clean.
First salad that was ordered to split between us server leaves in hurry with no side plates for us to use.
Wine I wanted on list was out, ordered something different and it took a long time to come, you want to have wine with your food !
My girlfriend and I like Al dente pasta but the pasta in dish that we ordered was undercooked.
We were seated in the overflow area aka Zorba’s. It was actually more cozy and intimate with better lighting than the main dining. Sue the hostess was extra friendly and our server Emily was great. Recommendations were wonderful and food was delicious. Our Valentines dining experience was fantastic. Thanks!
The lighting was very bright..food very good, a little expensive for Italian.
The food was ok, but seemed to try to be more exotic or fancy than focused on the taste.
I felt that it was not as good as the last time I dined there.....hope it's not slipping.
Food was delicious. Wine was extremely expensive! $18 for a glass of house white wine. My husbands
Lasagna was $20!
This is one of the best restaurants in the area
Excellent care taken for food allergies. Good quality ingredients. Excellent staff.
Food just ok, but pricey.
Went for Naperville Restaurant Week, date lunch. Great ambiance-Charming Sophistication in Decor. Attentive staff and excellent service-Frank was our server. We loved the small plates and Great Italian Cooking. We had the Wedding Soup, NY Strip Steak Sandwiches, Chocolate Cannoli and Tiramisu-all awesome... Can't wait to go back for dinner sometime!!
Food was amazing. Service was very slow.
All the food was good except for the Wedding soup. The soup had not taste needed more seasoning.
Only two servers for the whole restaurant.
Naperville Restaurant Week
Our server Frank was outstanding !!!
The chef came to our table & introduced himself
The kale salad , steak sandwich & French fries were just amazing , so tasty. Dessert was excellent! Tiramisu & cannolis awesome.
Adorable place with a little Italian store & Lavazza coffee connected.
Service was excellent, food was hot and cooked well with great flavor. Perfect place to go to for any occasion.
The food was good but service left quite a bit to be desired. My card was charged the wrong amount and it took over a week for the hold from the first charge to leave my bill.
We had given up on this restaurant due to inconsistent service and food, but this last experience was very positive. Ozzie, our server, was friendly and efficient and the food we ordered was exceptionally good. You won't get a quick meal, but you will get a good meal based on this last visit.
The staff and ambiance were wonderful! We enjoyed our dinner and stayed until the restaurant closed. They were very accommodating. The food was good, but we feel it's overpriced for a restaurant in the west suburbs. The prosciutto & fig board was more of a plate, not a true "board" with respect to presentation and portions. Figs were delicious, but seems a little pricey for what you get. The Ossobuco was good, but a little overcooked. Broccolini was yummy! The Ravioli Che Figata Fatti in Casa was uniquely delicious and a nice portion size. However, it seemed like there should have been something more for $26. The bread and olive oil were really nice, but we had to request from the server. Desserts were good. I'd recommend Che Figata to friends, but will warm them to check menu prices so that they are prepared.
Great food and great service. A high quality Italian restaurant in a local neighborhood.
Birthday dinner was fabulous again and love sitting at the Counter!
Frito Misti was too bready
Fish I had was very good
Our server was excellent
What a HUGE difference compared to our last visit. The menu change was a great idea and more diner friendly. Our server, Danielle, was attentive and accommodated our ‘not in a hurry’ dining experience with our friends. Our last visit there a few months ago was probably one of our least satisfying - horrible service, marginal food and a general feeling that the staff, including management, didn’t care or have much experience. We decided to not go back for a very long time, if at all. Recently we decided to give it one final shot and were pleasantly surprised. The food was really good, the vibe was better and it was a far more satisfying experience than before. The management change paid off. We’ll go again!
Great food. We loved the short rib ravioli with A mushroom beefy sauce, the Osso buco and the chopped salad is Devine!
Excellent meal! The food was amazing- from appetizer through dessert. Service and atmosphere were perfect.
Had a great afternoon lunch there! Excellent service and the salad and pasta option was perfect portion for lunch.
We’ve been here four or five times over the last couple of years and they just can’t seem to get things right. We’ve never had an overall good experience. For a meal of around a $100 per person they need to be a much much better at this. My risotto wasn’t cold but was room temperature and had an okay flavor. The place wasn’t busy and we got the appetizers 5 minutes before we got our drinks. A friend had lamb and he said it had good flavor but it was fatty. The last time we went in they didn’t have any pizza because the pizza oven wasn’t working. In general I feel like it’s way over priced for what you are getting and the food is mediocre at best. A typical hotel restaurant that has lots of business travelers that don’t come back. I’d pass and find somewhere else to explore.
Selection of items on menu more limited than expected. Food was well prepared but portions were smaller than expected and prices higher than expected. Service was very good.
Would not recommend due to high prices for both food and wine.
Near perfect evening. Exceptional service. Incredible wine working the white wine end of the spectrum. Juan was a wonderful guide through the menu which went towards Arneis and fish and then veered into the less known wines. Caviar exceptional. Octopus achingly good. Meagre superb. And so on. We will be back to explore further. Back and front of house both hitting on all cylinders. Well done and many thanks.
We've made reservations a couple of times but cancelled not knowing much about the restaurant. The food and service was brilliant. The location is hidden which makes you reluctant to visit as it's connected to a hotel. Che Figata means you’ve just discovered something awesome and we did! Freshest ingredients, house-made pastas, wood-fired meats and Mediterranean seafood, and warm modern atmosphere. The music threw us off a bit - it was club/techno like which was odd for the Italian atmosphere. I like the idea of modern music in the space but tone down the boom, boom, boom beat :)
The restaurant has excellent service, a lovely atmosphere and for the most part great food. I come with a group that includes people with serious food allergies, and the restaurant handles this impeccably. It's the main reason I return, again and again. The wine list is also very fine. My experience the last two times was that the food was a bit underwhelming. The pizza came out barely warm, and not as good as I remember. The arugula salad was not very impressive - lots of arugula in a pile with very little of the other interesting ingredients. We'll return because it's a great place to have a good meal and be able to have a good conversation, and I know no one will get sick because of an allergy issue. I just will chose different food options.
It didn't appear that the restaurant had enough staff to wait on our table. The manager took our order and brought us drinks. He was very nice, however, the time it took was too long. We didn't like the food and the service was not very good. I cannot recommend it.
We had high hopes for this place...but everything was lacking in one way or another. Our server left a LOT to be desired. Numerous times we were told she would be “right back”...only to not see her for another ten minutes. Asked for a box for our food, the food runner disappeared, never returned AND never told anyone else we needed a box. Water glasses where not filled consistently. We were told (actually our waitress whined to us that a bunch of people called in)...so why not leave one of the nice water bottles in the table? Save yourself the work and make sure that your customers aren’t going thirsty. I was a server FOR YEARS, so it’s not like I don’t have a first hand understanding of quality service. The food all had a positive aspect to it, but then something else would kind of ruin the dish. For example, we ordered the bread sampler and they specifically state on the menu that for gluten free, you could get their gluten free crust. I specifically asked for this but was given what appeared to be store bought bread turned which was then toasted. NOT something I would have paid extra for...AND when I specifically asked if they were out, our server said, “I don’t know, I just told them to get you gluten free...so I guess.” I actually wanted it because I was going to order the gluten free pizza, but since I couldn’t get a straight answer, who knows. The gnocchi with black truffle came with about eight small gnocchi. For $44, they could have at least provided a full dinner size meal. It did NOT need more truffle (we understood that expense) BUT potato and flour are two of the cheapest things to buy...adding a few more gnocchi would have made all the difference. Calamari was solid BUT then they added sliced fried lemons in there, WITH THEIR SEEDS. First, fried lemon added nothing, but the seeds totally sucked. To sum it up, our friend provided the following comment which I thought summed it up perfectly: “Che FiGATA?...more like Che Forgettaboutit”.
I have special dietary needs, and the kitchen went out of its way to accommodate me. Try the arugula salad. It's amazing, as was the roasted chicken.
They seem to have opted for style over substance here... Their drinks are more expensive than the Signature Room atop the Hancock building. Both my wife's and mine were relatively tasty, but for $20 each we weren't going to try another variety. And the first round came slow enough that we would have been done eating anyway. The arugula salad was delicious, but the bread we paid for was quite stale and the Italian wedding soup was bowl of celery in chicken broth.
The entrees all had enough atypical ingredients that we weren't sure what they'd taste like, and for the steep prices they were charging, we chose not to roll the dice; $44 for gnocchi or $24 hamburger?... They may want to consider patrons who don't like truffle oil when preparing their dishes.
We ended up sharing the pesto chicken pizza which was pretty tasty, but not good enough to go back for.
Pretty disappointed that we chose it for our anniversary dinner.
Our favorite restaurant in Naperville!
Service was outstanding. We had calamari and capris salad and both were amazing. Our meals were delicious. The steaks, lamb and pasta dishes were wonderful. We indulged with two desserts which were both delicious. This was our second trip back and thanks to Trisha for a great dining experience!
Our server's name was Justin, and he was very personable and knowledgeable. He gave us great recommendations, and we had a wonderful experience.
We had a great server, Emily. And talked with our first server Sue who was great as well in September.
