Che Fico, is a new California Italian restaurant from Chefs David Nayfeld and Matt Brewer in San Francisco's NOPA neighborhood. The food focuses on Italian cuisine through the lens of California. It’s our vision of Northern California as if it is a region in Italy, our connection to the region, and our love for Italian culinary practices. The rustic, market-driven menu features handmade pasta, pizzas, antipasti, housemade salumi, meat, and fish plus dishes from the Jewish-Roman heritage known as “Cucina Ebraica.” The beverage program focuses heavily on both Italian and Californian wines with a cocktail program that utilizes a variety of spirits, amaros, and seasonal ingredients. We went there cause it’s one of our favorite restaurant here in sf as we are moving out of sf we wanted to enjoy a last meat at Che Fico. The food was great well seasoned as always. The service staff is very attentive and always made sure we had what we needed.

Amazing food, really. We shared 6 or so antipasti and mains between four of us. All dishes were extraordinary. Cocktails inventive and delicious. Good wine list. The staff is super. Overall, well worth the extravagance.

So expensive for mediocre Italian food. $30 for a Margherita pizza is highway robbery. Lasagne Verde is skippable and the tomato anchovy salad was also disappointing. Not to mention the 10% non-gratuity fee to pay their workers a “livable wage”. Will not be coming back. Go literally anywhere else.

The food here is fantastic. The pizza's are the best Neapolitan style pies in the city. Beautifully burnt but not too burnt edges with leopard printing and a soft chew to them. The pasta we had was mouthwateringly good but what isn't when it comes with a butter sauce? Che Fico is a special occasion type of place and the food is always good. The ambiance is a fantastic combination of rough urban detailing with soft touches of colorful wallpaper and tropical plants. Great place to take out of town guests.

While the food is good, the prices have continued to increase. A pizza (4 slices) is $30+ and a single pasta dish is $30-$40 which seems excessively high for what it is. We were disappointed to see prices increase as we thought it was already quite expensive to begin with.

Food is consistently great. We sat at the bar, which in many places feels like banishment. Not so here. Totally welcoming and terrific service. Totally recommend!

Their policies are too strict and the food was too salty. Sad because the first time we came was great. But charging $25 cancellations fee per person, and not allowing easy modifications to the reservation, and the 10% dining in fee in addition to 4% health care mandate and tip is too much even for sf natives.

The food and service were terrific and the restaurant is very attractive. The noise level was over the top (we couldn't hear our waiter) and the prices are extremely high. I was also annoyed at the 10% 'surcharge' to help pay for...everything?? That money doesn't seem to go to the staff (at least not entirely) and isn't in place of a gratuity. Seems like they should just adjust their prices (which would make it even more expensive). Something is wrong with the value equation.

what a absolutely amazing experience. every bite was utterly impressive! the ambiance was bright and swanky but also warm and inviting. staff was attentive and kind. the mock tails are worth a try and the pasta is next level, soft when it should be.. firm when it should be. definitely adding this to our go-to list of restaurants in sf! TOY HAVE TO TRY THIS PLACE.

The food was absolutely incredible. Everything we ordered was delicious and the wine and cocktail menu was outstanding as well. We ordered 2 starters, the ananas pizza, and 2 incredible pastas. I would definitely go back just for the food! Our server was really rude. No introduction, was very short and unhelpful, and acted annoyed when we asked questions. We honestly couldn't believe her responses throughout the entire meal - I've never had a server act that way. This made it especially frustrating that there is a mandatory 10% "service fee" that is not part of gratuity.

Not a disappointing dish on the menu! It is seasonal and can change from one week to the next so if you love something savor every bite! The service is excellent. You won’t regret making a reservation or two!

Wine list is banger! Food was dynamite. Ambience and playlist were satisfactory. Everyone seems to love what they do there and it’s palpable. Four of us tried roughly ten menu items (maybe more) and all were memorable.

Our main server was not very friendly, no introduction, no over view of the menu, got annoyed when we asked questions about the menu. She then disappeared mid way through our meal, other servers who delivered various plates to the table were a lot friendlier. Overall food an ambiance is good but a little over priced for what you get.

Chris L was our server and he was GREAT (so kind and so friendly). Must orders: Focaccia (get as many of these as possible it's so good), steak, and the 2nd pasta down on the menu w/ corn and tiny mushrooms (I forget the name) Loud but not too loud, definitely energetic Excited to try sister restaurant

Food was absolutely delicious- there were 3 of us and we ordered 7 dishes and we loved every one of them. The service was also very good and the restaurant is rustic in a highly sophisticated way. Great ambiance. We would recommend this restaurant.
