Che Fico, is a new California Italian restaurant from Chefs David Nayfeld and Matt Brewer in San Francisco's NOPA neighborhood. The food focuses on Italian cuisine through the lens of California. It’s our vision of Northern California as if it is a region in Italy, our connection to the region, and our love for Italian culinary practices. The rustic, market-driven menu features handmade pasta, pizzas, antipasti, housemade salumi, meat, and fish plus dishes from the Jewish-Roman heritage known as “Cucina Ebraica.” The beverage program focuses heavily on both Italian and Californian wines with a cocktail program that utilizes a variety of spirits, amaros, and seasonal ingredients. We shared a salad, pizza and fish. The portions were more generous than I expected and everything was so tasty. The beet salad was delicious. The pizza dough was light and fluffy. The branzino was good too!

The hostess Rebecca is so sweet and accommodating, and our server was fabulous! He went out of his way to make sure everything was perfect for my friends birthday! The beet salad, salumi, chicken and bolognese were all delicious and out manhattans were perfectly crafted! Don't miss the "milk" ice cream, yum!

Our waiter forgot to put in our food order. An hour later we were starving and confused when everyone else around us had their food or already dined and left. It was my fiancés birthday and they didn’t even apologize or remove anything from the bill. We sat with empty drinks and water for over 30 min. For the $250 bill for 2 the service was the worst I’ve ever had. I’ve dined at almost every nice restaurant in SF.

We had such a great experience! The space is beautiful and interesting, and the vibe/energy is super inviting. We sat at the counter and had exceptional service from a talented and friendly mixologist who took time to describe the food and cocktail menus. Everything was so delicious…including the wine pairings. One of the best meals/experiences ever. Can’t wait to get back!!

Consistently great food, service and energy. The focaccia is a must. And the tagliatelle and agnolotti were truly delicious and well-proportioned (servings were not overwhelming). My favorite Italian restaurant in SF and one of my overall favorites.

Haven’t been to Che Fico since pre-pandemic. Boy oh boy it’s just as good as I remember if not better. Fantastic meal. We shared antipasti, pasta and secundi among three of us. Truly outstanding meal. The space is also just so fabulous. The team was a pleasure too.

Great meal, always too noisy, kinda pricey but I return. However, I have a beef with the reservations. It is IMPOSSIBLE to get a reservation for a "normal" dinner time--ie, 6-7 pm. Yet at our dinner (5:30 pm reservation), the restaurant was half empty the ENTIRE time we were there, up until 730 pm. ANd we made the reservation weeks ago. This is not an isolated incident--it has happened everytime I have made a reservation at Che Fico. The "game" of only making your unpopular seating times available is annoying at the very least.

Celebrated my 55th birthday with special friends, delicious spaghetti and radicchio salad! I loved the candle with my panna cotta. And the pinot Grigio was excellent! Service was quick and attentive. Mahalo from Maui

I have eaten at CF several times but wanted to share my brother’s reaction. I had said it was good and he trusts my opinion. Still he said “I was expecting good but everything was at least two steps beyond what I was expecting”. Unpretentious industrial atmosphere. Not too noisy but this visit was a Sunday night and the restaurant was not full. I gave service a 4 because, having been great at the beginning of the meal, they seemed to have lost track of our pending drink orders and a few other things we had ordered. Might have been a “change of shift” glitch

Prices are 20-30% higher than great restaurants like Zuni & Foreign Cinema. $12 for a piece of focaccia the size of a pizza slice. Pastas from $28 to $38! Food is great, but do not command the prices. I cannot go back nor will I recommend.
