   The food was terrible - sent back the cut up octopus appetizer (cut into 4 small and overcooked pieces) on a bed of mole and micro greens and edible flowers it was $27. My spiny lobster thermidor was too salty and a tiny portion on doughy and firm yuca. They overcooked my husband’s Niman Ranch pork chop - what a waste of amazing meat. The worst of all was the $30 gin and tonic - did I mention the tonic is billed separately for an additional $4 - $64 for 2 gin and tonics. I’ve never experienced such an overpriced meal with so little food that tasted terrible. I initially went with my girlfriends when they first opened and the restaurant has completely changed. It’s like they’re cutting corners everywhere which just is not sustainable. On a better note, the service was good and the restaurant is conveniently located in Winter Park Village. It’s just a shame that it’s taken such a turn for the worse. After going with initially with girlfriends one of my friends returned with her husband as well and told me how bad it was - if figured I’d give them a chance and form my own opinion since it was so good the first time. I wish I had not. We will not return and quite frankly, I don’t think they will be open much longer. Plenty of staff and plenty of empty tables - not a good sign.

   The service was excellent and so was the food. Portion sizes could have been a bit more generous for the price but overall a great culinary experience. Definitely would return

   We had a lovely evening and I am definitely going back. First I must say we had the best waitress, Destiny. Our food was great. Every ones meal was cooked to perfection. And dessert was decadent.

   Beautiful and relaxing dining experience, chic decor and fabulous food. The music was a perfect level, loud enough to enjoy without feeling like you’re talking over it. Our server was gracious and professional, very attentive the table. Looking forward to returning. Thank you!

   Wonderful dinner. The lamb was absolutely amazing! The tuna tartare was one of the best I ever had!!! We cannot wait to come back and try more menu items. The patio is a perfect relaxing place to sit.

   Atmosphere and food was good. We was about to be seated even though we was an hour late from our reservation. Portions for the protein was a little smaller than I’m used to however.

   My wife and I recently had dinner at Chayote. The restaurant is beautiful inside. Obviously, much thought and planning was involved with the interior design. The chef has a very eclectic menu; however much of the food was overpriced and overly complicated with too many ingredients. There was nothing wrong with the chef’s imagination and innovation but none of the dishes had a familiar taste or composition of ingredients. The menu was small. There were no menu items with red/black beans and rice. I had a skirt steak which was good but served with mashed yuca and an a spicy sauce. I was charged $3 for a small portion of chimichurri sauce. My wife wanted ice tea but they don’t serve ice tea. The escargot was mushy and tasteless. The empanadas were over fried. My wife’s trout was good but she complained about too much oil on the plate. I will say the staff was very polite and helpful. So, the restaurant is very professional and attractive. The lighting was well done and made the atmosphere somewhat romantic. I think it would be an improvement if they offered baked chicken with red beans and rice as one of their options. John T
