The service and food were great. Surprised to see that masks weren't being used though. Hopefully the employees were able to obtain a vaccine before management decided to remove the requirements of the masks.
Overal delighted with this restaurant :) great vibe and outdoor seating is great. A little bigger menu would be the only opportunity I’d say they have- glad we tried Chauncys and we will be back again soon!
While the place is fun and the food is good, the service was terrible. Our reservation was for the patio and we were initially placed at a table in the inside back corner by the kitchen. When I asked to move, it caused a furor. We were told we had 90 minutes to eat as then our seats were for someone else.
Then we waited 10 minutes to be acknowledged by waitstaff. When I asked a passing hostess for water, she grabbed two women standing idly nearby who were apparently our servers. They were smilingly catty the entire time.
I will not be returning.
My name is Sarah. I am GM, I was the one who moved around tables to make sure we could accommodate your "request" to be seated on the patio, I ensure you, it caused no furor & took me all of 30 seconds. I was also the the hostess who let the new server know you were seated in her section, bc of the table swap there was a delay in getting you started. When making a reservation, it clearly states time limits for each table & user is required to accept the terms in order to make reservation.
This was my second visit to the restaurant. I like the location and casual environment. However, each time I've visited they've been out of an item I requested. This time they even ran out of wine glasses. A small thing but unless you are at the end of the evening not sure why that happens.
Desmond was our waiter. He was the worst! We order drinks and food. Our food arrived before our drinks, we had to wait 5 minutes after the food arrived to get our drinks from a different waiter. They brought hot wings instead of the mild wings, we ate them without saying anything because Desmond never checked back. As we were eating and drinking, Desmond tells us that we need to close out our check because they need the table for reservations. We had a reservation, we were only there for 45 minutes and only half way through my $25 drink when Desmond tells us we have to close out our check. There were open tables everywhere and nobody waiting. Desmond never offered us a second drink or dessert. WTH, we have never had a more rude or awful waiter in our lives! Also, on a side note the table next to us was vaping. This place was good when it first opened but as gotten trashy!
Meal with my team. Everything was great!! They loved the ambiance, food and drinks. Ashely was AMAZING!!
Great Patio. Friendly staff. Didn't give us spoons for an ice cream dessert. Even had to ask twice.
Ashley, our sever was excellent as was the manager who stopped by our table. We had two small plates, sampled several specialty cocktails and shared a dessert. All were top notch! We loved the cozy patio booth and the ambiance was perfect for a gathering of childhood friends.
We had reservations for Easter brunch. We got in right away and had a perfect corner booth table. Service was quick and friendly, our only complaint was that food took a little longer than expected, but that’s not surprising with the holiday. Food was very good and drinks were amazing. We will definitely be back!
No real issues except for the face that no employees were wearing masks and no customer wore them either. Although masks are not mandated here anymore most restaurants are continuing to at least require that their employees continue to wear them. So I felt uncomfortable which affected my dining experience.
When we got to Chauncy Social they did not have our reservation from Open Table. They sat us at a coffee table and bench area, not good for eating as you would have to lean over to eat your food. Noticed a couple of tables weren't being occupied so asked the hostess if we could move and we were able. No social distancing or mask were required. Don't think we will be going back there soon.
Fun place to go if you want to watch a game on the big screens. Lively ambiance and a neat place to socialize and people watch. Food was nothing special and waitress was generally inept, passing by our table multiple times without stopping to see how we were doing and quite honestly missed several opportunities to get us more wine and drinks. Huge mistake as our bar tab was $60 and could have been $100. I would go back, but sit at the bar or on the patio where the music isn't deafening.
The food was fine. The service was less than stellar. Our waiter kept telling us they were slammed but the restaurant was at beat 30% full. It took forever to order and get our food.
It took 45 minutes just to get water for the table and we were told we only had the table for an hour and a half. The waitress was not very attentive, other than continually reminding us that we only had the table an hour and half. She asked me to repeat my order maybe three or four times because she was watching another table while asking for my order. Then one guest ordered a cheeseburger and she did not ask how that was to be cooked. It just came out rubbery and over cooked. Needless to say the food came out after an hour and then we had 30 minutes to eat, close out our bill, and leave. Then in the middle of eating our meal she came to take our payment because we had to be closed out 15 minutes before we were to leave the table. If they had been ready for us and we had received our water and drinks more promptly, then the time limit would be fine. Their poor service and the time limit, that I was not aware of when making the reservation, made for a undesirable experience.
Met with some old friends and enjoyed our time there!
Service was really bad. Waited over an hour for entrees with no server checking in. No apology or acknowledgment of slow service - manager eventually comped our drinks but was too little too late. Won’t be back.
Had a reservation - was treated like I was an inconvenience upon arrival and was informed our table would only be available for 1.5 hours due to an "event" that we were not previously informed of and was not on the website/Instagram/OpenTable for the restaurant. Asked to speak with a manager as we specifically came to watch a March Madness basketball game and after 10 minutes was told "if the manager hasn't come yet, then there's probably nothing we can do" from a very flat-faced server. Host and server were also wearing small plastic shields on their chin rather than true masks over their nose/mouth, which will not be very protective from COVID. Overall a disappointing experience after having gotten a recommendation from a friend.
Appreciated the plexiglass between tables. Place was more of party then I thought! Good food and cocktails!
Good food, nice vibe but lots of credit card millionaires in there.
The food was delicious but I would definitely recommend leaving the kids at home. Their highchairs aren’t tall enough for the elevated booths and high tops , they don’t have booster seats and there aren’t many options on the menu for kids. It was 6 PM on a Wednesday and the music was bumping...definitely a party crowd.
Drinks were fantastic!! Very good quality. Food was good and service was great.
WITH A RESERVATION (OPEN TABLE): Sat at a low bar chair, notan actual table. Not only was I dining with a 4yo but, as an adult, have no desire to sirens money to be hunched over a knee high table while hoping I don't spill anything attempting to eat like that.
If any covid considerations, DO NOT EAT HERE. The staff doesn't wear masks properly (chin bra with no nose covered) and there were multiple parties within a few feet of us (pictures attached).
Ended up taking food to go given lack of seating for my reservations. Ended up only ordering for the 4yo -- $31 + tax and tip for dumplings and spaghetti. Hopefully it would have been better at the restaurant as it was not good to-go.
First time to Chauncey Social. The food and service was good but noise level is very high, making it difficult to hold a conversation. Chauncey Social have more of a club / bar atmosphere than restaurant. May be best 20 somethings than families or a relaxing evening.
Everything was great
Service was awful. Had to flag down manager twice for service. Appetizers were brought with dinner. Waiter was the worst ever. Needs some etiquette traing
Shrimp pasta we ordered came with very little pasta ...when pasta is so cheap 😂
I'm sorry the Shrimp Fettucine did not meet your standards. When portioning a dish we balance the protein to pasta ratio as not to overwhelm the dish.
The hostess and servers were rude and it took forever to get our food and drinks. The drinks were not very impressive and the food was your average bar food. I think the management here seems poor and I was super excited to try this place but was disappointed overall. We sat outside and the patio lighting was extremely bright and the ambiance felt like a sports bar which is not what I was expecting.
Super noisy and lots of people getting very drunk - awesome for them but we were looking for a bite to eat with the kids so not a great scene. Also, no kids menu so we had to order and modify adult courses. Probably won’t go back - unless it’s for cocktails!
First time checking out the place. Great ambience and electric energy. Was told that I only had 90 minutes for dinner. Asked waitress about having Ciroc and was told they did not, only to find out they did. Asked the same server if there was a spot at the bar to move to after 90 minutes, was told there wasn’t. As we exited, I asked the hostess about a seat at the bar, and SHE made it happen. This is where we also found out they DID have Ciroc. Great night out.....details matter. Slow down with rushing people and know what you have to drink.
Food and service were great as well as the atmosphere
I think their food has improved over time. I really enjoyed the ambience and plan to return
Lovely evening. Great salad with Brussels sprouts, hot chicken sandwich. Delicious. Our servers were delightful. Ashley (??) trainee Molly. Their suggestions of wine were excellent. Both friendly, pleasant and knowledgeable. We’ll return soon!
Always a solid time. Was great crowd for fight.
Amazing salmon bowl ... cool sports bar / club atmosphere. Worth checking out. Cool vibe
Great place to watch a football game!
We celebrated a birthday there with the mimosa tower! Perfect!
Not much choices on the menu, loud nightlife kind of music, waitstaff and their manager not hospitality oriented.
Made a reservation and was put on the patio - it was cold outside. I will say that they tried over and over to get the propane heaters to work. I wish they would give you the option of inside or outside when making a reservation. I wouldn't have gone if I knew we would be outside right next to the parking lot.
It was a packed house. No real Covid precautions occurring. Plexiglass was at the bar, but tables were packed and getting trayfuls of shots, etc. I am not a fanatic about Covid and go out often, but this place made even me uncomfortable.
It is definitely a younger crowd, although there were a couple of older couples there happily drinking martinis. :)
Thank you for your feedback. We do our best to honor guests seating preference but it is not always possible. As far as not taking any real COVID precautions I am inclined to believe that we execute them so seamlessly that you just may not have noticed. Masks are required, temperatures are taken at the door, seats/tables are disinfected between guests, plexi glass barriers for the bar / booths (including the one you described sitting at).
Good place to watch a game and not be in a sports bar
First time checking out Chauncey Social. Went with a group of friends for football and got a great table with couches. Love that there are TVs all over the place. Our server was good if only just a little spacey at times. Onion rings, Mac & cheese with Truffle, and Ceasar salad were tasty. The prime rib dip was okay - it came with Au jus that was wayyy too salty and fries that were going stale.
Overall we had a great time though, and if we weren’t moving we would definitely be back.
Fight night on the big screen. Ordered appetizers and drinks, great service!
