   My boyfriend and I stayed at the Horned Dorset and dined at the restaurant not knowing what to expect. The ambience is amazing (and old Spanish hacienda ballroom over looking the ocean): marble floors, beautiful decor, impeccable lighting and service! We decided to double down and go for the chefs tasting menus. 10 courses of amazingness. Really well sized as well; small and manageable. And the wine list!!! The list is super minimal but seriously well curated! I’ve worked in the wine and food industry in Santa Barbara and in New York, and this place just blew me away. Stunning from top to bottom— you’ll pay for it, but not nearly as much as in a major city, though the quality and presentation rivals any metropolitan experience. Oh, and the chef is only 29.... AMAZING

   Gorgeous setting on the edge of the waterfront. Superb appetizers and entres. Service is impeccable.

   We spent our Valentine’s Day Dinner here and what a glorious treat it was. The pre fixe menu was a beautiful symphonic transition. The live Spanish guitarist was romantic with a perfect sound level. The Decor of the black and white checkered floor is mixed with the red chandeliers, dark woods and exquisite silverware could not have created a more beautifully themed Spanish experience. We will be back, thank you so much to the army of waiters and waitresses that made this truly the most romantic day for us.

   Last Saturday we went dinner to celebrate our anniversary. We ordered 2 out of their 3 only options for fixed menu were they includes 3-4 courses and an "old fashioned" to drink.. In general, the experience was very bad and didn't met our expectations vs the price ($80 and $90 per person) and its prestige. To begin, the "old fashioned" didn't follow the recipe for this cocktail in any sense, the onion soup was ok for a lower category restaurant, but It left to much to desired for this one. In the main course, the quality of the cut of the meat used for the new york strip loin was of very low quality, the risotto hadn't any flavor and it seemed undercooked, in addition the sauteed black fin tuna wasn't well prepared and too much salty. At the end, we had "crepes suzette" and classic chocolate marquise with strawberry and cocoa powder for dessert, both was ok but not great or amazing so neither of all courses improved our whole bad experience. On the other hand, we appreciate the high quality of service given, the amazing view to the sea, the dishes presentation that were perfect. It could have been a bad day in the kitchen, but unfortunately we wouldn't try it again or recommend it.

   An excellent option for those searching for a real continental option.Setting special overlooking ocean.Food was an adventure,presented beautifully and excellent.Restaurant like an open Spanish hacienda.Owner hands on and great story. Highly recommend for the discerning Traveller and locals alike.

   Words might seem inadequate to express how much we appreciated the Chef, the Maitre d’ and every person that made our birthday dinner possible and incredibly special. We had called another restaurant and were told last reservation was at 5:30 pm. We arrived around 3:45 pm to be told they were closing early and all they had was a Buffet style menu which they had taken away already. So I went on Open Table to find a reservation for 5 at Chateau Rose and we drove one hour to get there. To our surprise, the restaurant was closed and they didn’t open until 7pm (Open Table glitch?). But the Maitre d’ and the Chef spotted us and they literally ran over to set up the kitchen and the room for us. I could not believe they would open for us! The music, the table, the elegant service, flawless presentation of dishes and even a birthday candle on Mom’s cake. My Madras curry soup was fantastic! The table raved about their Filet Mignon. I can only speak of my perfectly cooked seabass. My favorite course was my scallops appetizer. But even the amuse bouche at the beginning was enough to convey a special note to it all at Chateau Rose. Nothing is left to chance! My family felt I had taken them to another country far away from the usual (no fried criollo stuff, thank Goodness!). Can’t wait to go back with my husband! Thank you all at Chateau Rose!

   Date night went to another level Friday! Amazing! Service was magnificent and food exquisite! Can’t wait for the next trip to Rincon, it will never be the same without a stop a Chateau Rose.

   Valentine’s day dinners in a restaurant are usually overpriced, chaotic, hurried and not even romantic. But at Chateau Rose we found world class cuisine served in the most elegant, romantic setting. From the beautifully appointed dining spaces with fresh flowers, the sound of breaking waves and a delightful pianist that played throughout the whole night, the evening was set from the get go. Freshly baked bread arrived promptly. A delicious tomato soup with goat cheese that was incredibly comforting and unpretentious, yet remarkably memorable. My husband hates tomatoes so I was ready to take over but he ate it all and he loved it. Our lobster appetizer had an intriguing mix of crunchy and soft with half melted brie. The tuna was perfectly seared and served with the most delicious potatoes and asparagus. Presentation was stunning. Desserts were very special: not sugary and not your usual take on classics: red velvet cake, cheesecake...but with sorbet with a touch of hibiscus sorbet. Brilliant! Real Chef and real Patissier in the kitchen. The waiters were all so charming, elegant and knowledgeable. I know it might sound like a clichè but this was the most romantic, love-filled restaurant I’ve been to in a long time. I know we were not the only ones who felt “the love” that permeates in the restaurant and this place (the Horned Dorset) in Rincon. A very special place!
