We had an exceptional dinner! We came when the coronavirus was just starting to close things down. They took great care of us, and Jesse, the manager was there to be sure all our needs were met, along with everyone else's. Thank you!
Went for the sunset view. Too cloudy so no sunset but food and service were very good.
Staff did an awesome job of our birthday honoree! Food excellent. We will return!
The entire experience was amazing! The manager was awesome, the service was outstanding and the food was amazing!
The food quality is good, but the lack of heart-healthy selections is remarkable for a restaurant of this kind. We were seated in a corner table near a window on a frigid cold night. My wife had to wear a coat throughout the meal. The credit card system was inoperative, and we had to scramble to collect the cash necessary to pay, something about which we weren't informed. This should never happen.
We had a great time. The sunset was gorgeous, we enjoyed it while consuming reasonably priced wine and food in a casual atmosphere. The waitstaff was professional and attentive. Our waiter’s review of the lobster chowder made us want to try it and and it was delicious. The nachos had potential but were mainly chips, with toppings as an after thought; maybe the chef was touchy that we asked for “bar food” in the dining room. My fish was overcooked but still enjoyable and paired nicely with the other items on my plate. Desserts are made there and all sounded delicious. We chose to take some home with us as we had no more room after wine, appetizer, soup, and main course.
Everything was wonderful except the main course. We both had a steak and the 8oz filet looked to be about 5oz. Neither steak was seasoned and both overcooked. Could’ve been so much better. Overall a great dining experience minus the steaks.
Waitress was SUPERB!!!! Superbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbb
Awesome service! Food was delicious!
Our special birthday lunch was very good all thru the time we were there. We had 21 ladies and all agreed how much we enjoyed our time there.
The servers were very attentive and professional and nice too.
The food was very good and attractive too! We also appreciated the management.
We will be back for sure. Thank you Sonja Farrand
They were serving just a small buffet instead of the full brunch, but it was good. We will go again
Unfortunately the website was not updated and I made reservations for the brunch and when we arrived we were told there was no such thing. It was disappointing because we came there to celebrate my daughters birthday and it was a very special event, however the servers made up for what was lacking and we were very blessed and had a wonderful time! They sang happy birthday to her and gave her a cake! It was a very special day!
Power outage for entire facility except dining room. Limited buffet instead of menu. Food that was available was good.
A beautiful place with a beautiful view was hindered by the room temperature. We were absolutely freezing when we left. The filet was outstanding and, while the grilled skewer of jumbo shrimp were good, there was nothing of note which I expected from a 4 star establishment. The asparagus was prepared perfectly and the red pepper risotto did not disappoint; dazzling to the eye and delightful to the palate. The triple chocolate dessert sounded scrumptious but it was a major disappointment. A very small melon ball sized chocolate gelato was no better than a delicious scoop of Braum's chocolate ice cream. The brownie was warm, but average; no better than a good packaged brownie. The presentation was outstanding however with "Happy 40th Anniversary" written in script with chocolate. Our server, Sandra, was top notch in efficiency, friendliness, and knowledge of the menu.
Great Sunday brunch
The Christmas Action Buffet was sub par in all ways. Prime rib was painfully over done. The Carver served paper thin portions. The scallops and shrimp dish consisted of tiny pieces much like you would find in a can. The salad bar was poorly stocked. Very disappointed. But in all fairness, I would order something off the main menu next time. Sadly being out of the state patrons, there will be no next time.
Cafeteria style service, fatty-looking prime rib, dry turkey, and scallops/shrimp that looked like it came out of a can.
Lunch with our children. The kids LOVED the macaroni and cheese. The service was excellent and all of the food was very good. We really enjoyed our meal.
We had a fabulous dinner ! The Chef came out to meet us and was just a wonderful experience! The Hotel Manager did as well !!! Has always been my "favorite" place to dine ... we will be back every time we travel to Branson. The Lobster/Shrimp Chowder was outstanding as was the "special" Salmon on Linguini noodles.
Thanks for making everything so special!
This was the perfect place to spend Thanksgiving!!! Thank you for the memories!
A fantastic bar experience for a before dinner drink. Great ambiance, incredible views and outstanding service made this the perfect start for our “date night”. The service was spot on and the drinks were top shelf! A little pricey, but understandable considering the surrounding in which we enjoyed our libations!
Though not guests at the lodge, we were welcomed warmly by the valet parking staff and every other employee we met.
Dinner in the main dining room was perfect. Knowledgable and attentive server made for a relaxing evening. All foods were excellently prepared and seasoned.
Highly recommend for a quiet light dinner in the bar (also an excellent bar menu), or a special dining experience in the restaurant.
Upon arrival they didn’t have our Open Table reservations, their internet was down. We Arrived early and were made to wait until 5:15 when they opened at 5:00. We had hoped to watch the sunset from our table. . I ordered the chef’s choice, Chateaubriand, medium rare, excited they had it on the menu. When it arrived it was cooked to to medium and still turning to well done. I was tempted to return it, however we waited so long and I hated to keep my husband waiting to eat his beautiful seafood platter . Cutting the beef was difficult, chewing was ever more difficult. The server offered to get me another , however we had been there so long and frankly, I was so disappointed. I wanted to eat what I could and leave. The manager, a very nice young man, came and offered another entre, dessert to make me happy, I declined. I told him he could credit the cost of the dessert to our bill. He apologized, explaining the cut of meat was a cut like top sirloin. My husband informed him it was usually a Filet, served for two as the cut is usually a thick cut. He took the cost of the dessert plus off the bill and brought a dessert to take home which was nice. Later we overheard the another server offer the specials of Filet Minion. Had I known they had them, I certainly would have returned my order.
We have made Chateau on the Lake Sunday brunch our new Branson tradition!! I think I'd pay full price just for the bread pudding and crème anglaise!! LOL Years ago, the pastry chef, Doug use to make me a pan of it to take home (yes, I paid for it:-) And a container of the crème anglaise. We'd take it home and share with family!!:-) I also typically get a lake view--so very pleasant! We now visit Branson usually spring and early Christmas season and will continue to do so as long as we are able to!:-) All the food is good! But I do also like mashed potatoes:-) Might be a bit simple, but kids like that too:-) I'm happy they do the basic crème anglaise and do not make it with a lemon sauce or whiskey sauce!:-) The staff is wonderful and attentive and we Love the gentleman playing the piano and his choices of music---keep him always:-) I'm ready to go back already!!!
Love the view and the staff are so nice. The pianist plays such lovey music.
Potatoes very salty. Meat tough! Not worth the amount charged.
We went early enough on a November evening to catch the sunset while we dined. The prime rib, shrimp, and scallops action station for $42 (including a glass of wine) was fabulous! We also had a really sweet and efficient waitress! Great for a friends’ get-together!
Wonderful night. Food , as usual, very, very good. Waiter did a great job. Beautiful venue.
( note: the souffle for dessert, which we have had in the past, is great. However, waiter did not mention the 30 min. prep time... so , be sure and order it , when you order main course.)
All and all, a very wonderful time.
We were seated promptly upon arrival. Server informed us she was in training. Quickly took our drink order and it was served quickly. Three in our party of four had the breakfast buffet, and I ordered the Cajun Benedict (I think that’s the name) with the chorizo. It was excellent. I am told the buffet was excellent as well.
The food selection and preparation were outstanding! Also excellent service.
The setting could not have been more pleasant with the exceptionally beautiful scenery viewed through the dining room windows, the elegant décor and the mood enhanced by the pianist in the background.
We felt like our experience was top notch. It was recommended by a friend and we will also recommend it highly.
The Chateau is a wonderful oasis of calm in the crazy, wonderful, but oh so much world of Branson. The entire environment has a refreshing and most pleasant way of reviving any tourist and the restaurant does the very same. While the menu and breakfast entrees are rather routine and not terribly memorable, the overall experience was great. While the menu was not very creative, the price points for a really good meal would not be a burden for the typical tourist budget.
Everyone should add the Chateau Grille to their vacation plan.
This place came highly recommended. Steak was fair at best - NY strip was very tough and had zero flavor. Salmon was ok but not outstanding.
Service wanted to force us out the door practically before we ever got our entree's first bite. They were not busy but they did not make you feel very welcoming and relaxed.
We dined on a Monday morning, the restaurant was quiet, the staff was doing there best, don't be in a rush to receive your order. We would rate the quality of the food as very good, except the pancakes "crumbled" when cut. The rest of our meals were very good. I recommend the Cajun Benedict for someone who wants to start their day with a little zip. Nice view of the lake to take any stress away.
The food is overpriced for its subpar quality. Upon arrival we were given what tasted like a microwaved store bought chicken bite. We received bread prior to our drink orders. Ordered the fruits of the sea for an appetizer. Shrimp were fine, but the oysters were very fishy. Asked the waiter for a recommendation and he spoke poorly of the cauliflower steak. Said many people disliked it. Decided on the signature dish of chateau briand and a ceaser salad. We thought the signature dish would be a safe bet, but we were wrong. Ordered the steak medium and it was closer to well done and tougher than expected. The mashed potatoes were fine!! We were disappointed on our vacation. Very overpriced. The hotel and grill seem to be out of its prime. For a restaurant that only offers 12 entrees you would expect them to be high quality!
My wife was overjoyed. This was the best anniversary we ever had. We were both married previously for more than thirty years. Now I had the pleasure of making it the best ever. Thanks
We had an excellent business dinner here. Food portions were very generous, delicious, and well-prepared. Wait staff was professional and attentive. Ambiance was casual but sophisticated.
The food wasn’t great. It was fine. Overpriced
Chose this restaurant because had a group of 14 on fairly short notice and they could accommodate. This restaurant is at a very nice hotel that was nearby the home we were renting, it's off-season so that helped. Staff was very nice and hospitable. Our waiter very friendly but was by himself and struggled to keep up. Lots of time spent waiting on drinks. Several of us chose the NY Strip for $38. It was not a good choice, not good meat quality and not well prepared. Others had better luck with different options. They have a good wine list which I appreciated.
My sister and I were celebrating our birthdays with a total party of 9. They very kindly brought a free, festive birthday dessert...but they only brought one instead of two and said we could only have one. That made it somewhat awkward.
