Chase’s Place Cocktails + Kitchen is a craft cocktail bar and small plates kitchen located in the heart of historic, downtown Fredericksburg, Texas. Chase coined the phrase ‘Craft Cocktails for Common Humanity’ because the cozy cocktail bar (originally a home built in 1939) was developed to foster a sense of community through interesting drinks and shareable food. A small rotating menu centers around creative options served tapas/family style. Featured in 'Texas Whiskey Book' and 'Texas Cocktails, Second Edition' guests of Chase's enjoy a wide variety of spirits (including non-alcoholic options), over 100 whiskies, and a selection of Texas-grown wines.

Started with the street corn appetizer, it tasted like they opened a can of corn and heated it up in the microwave. The salmon was overcooked and overpriced. The drinks were ok. The owner walked around and spoke to everyone EXCEPT us. Would not recommend and will not be going back. The bar manager Doug was great!

The food was decent but the value was just not there. The service seemed very confused of who was there and we had to repeatedly ask for basics like water.

Hi Josh! It is standard practice to bring waters as soon as you are seated. Were you part of the big group outside? If so, the confusion may have been due to the multiple additional guests that arrived after the initial seating. Sorry you didn't feel attended to!

Everything is overpriced. And different menu price than online. $16 for warm corn with Fritos. Not worth the prices.

This was probably the worst experience my wife and I have ever had at a restaurant. Should’ve listened to the local who told us to steer clear. First started when a server was coming inside from the patio as we walked up and didn’t attempt to hold the door for us, then as we waited for our table in the cramped front host area, a server loudly shouted “excuse me! This is the only way through” and forced his way through the group of people waiting (as if we knew the layout of the place). Then we get to the host stand, and she just points at our table and has us walk ourselves. No “enjoy” not even letting us know that the menus were on the table. It took a few minutes to be greeted which was fine because we were in the bar and they looked busy. The server came over and as he took our drink order he began to walk away from me while I was fully in the middle of a sentence. Every single staff member we interacted with was rude and acted like they were above us and we were impeding on their evening by being there. We frequent Fredericksburg and will not be back, nor would we ever recommend this restaurant to anyone. We did see the owner, Chase, interact with a couple of guests and he seems sweet. He may just need new staff before they ruin the reputation of his restaurant.

The food was good, however, the drinks which were supposedly fantastic were not mixed right. One of our 6 had the drink remade and it still tasted bad. Another didn't even bother to try to get her drink corrected. Maybe the bar tender was new?

As always, we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Chase’s Place. We actually arrived an hour earlier than our reservation, but Chase happened to be standing near the hostess checkin and was able to accommodate immediate seating at 6:00 PM on a Saturday night. Our waiter Sam was amazing and made the evening even more enjoyable through good conversation and attentive service. Overall, always a perfect evening with great food and great people.
