This was my 4th or 5th time at Chart House and based on my most previous experience, I probably will not return. Our waitress was as pushy as a car salesman. She started by reading multiple drink options, though we said we'd stick to waters all around. When she came back with our waters she insisted we try the sangria and kept asking each person if they wanted it. We said no, she said we should really consider it. We had a recovering alcoholic in our party, whose birthday it happened to be, so this was incredibly frustrating. She was spotty in service, coming by every now and then and refilling our waters 10+ minutes after we asked her to. She pushed the "special 30 minute dessert" on us as hard as the drinks. When we were finally leaving, she tried to convince my husband for at least 5 minutes to sign up for the loyalty card. She got annoyed with him that he wouldn't do it because "it wasn't a credit card so she didn't understand why he didn't want it." She ended up bringing our family member ice cream for her birthday, then proceeded to tell us how that was all her doing and straight from the heart, as handing over the bill. As if we needed to be instructed to tip off of that.
Appetizers were great, calamari and octopus. 3 people in my party got prime rib, each person a different size. My husband who ordered the largest size ended up with a cut that was incredibly fatty, making his meat less than the person who ordered the medium size. That was disappointing. I ordered the salmon which came with vegetables. The entire dish was so coated in oil I could not eat more than 3 bites (I honestly felt sick.) The waitress did see my cutlery on top of my plate, because I was not eating it, and took it away without questioning why it was barely touched.
Ambiance is always good here as are the hosts in the front. As for this birthday dinner, we were incredibly disappointed and I do not think this is worth the value to return.
Always look forward to eating here. Have never been disappointed in the food or service at any meal I have eaten here.
I brought my girlfriend here for her birthday dinner. It was out first time here as well. Everything from the atmosphere to the food to the service were fantastic!! The wait was a bit rough even with reservations, but the staff was very kind about it and the overall night made it very much worth it. If you are ever looking for a satisfying place to go for food, ambiance, and a great view of the city lights, Chart House is definitely in my top pics to check out!
Not the same chart house we remember. Very loud
We go every year for our anniversary. Everything is excellent with the exception of the parking lot. The line to get in from the street was so long and not moving, we got out of the shuttle and walked in.
Happily celebrated my wife's birthday intimately wit a small group of close friends.
As a long time fan of the chart house, i am sorry to report we were significantly disappointed. To the point that i don't think we will return.
Valet was incredibly slow when we arrived, and even slower when we were leaving. At departure we took the keys and went to the car ourselves. Mind you we pay $10 for the service.
Service was adequate, but unfriendly.
Our hostess, Maribel, was quite polite and did her best to correct my meal problem, but she had her hands full with many issues that evening it seemed. We have had the pleasure of meeting Maribel on several earlier visits and this time the burden showed in her demeanor.
Food was not great. I had stuffed flounder that came out cold, not warm, not tepid, COLD. We also noticed this time that our plates were quite warm when the food arrived. This would indicate food prepped ahead of the orders. Not what we have come to expect form the chart house.
Prices have increased as well and that makes this even more unsatisfying. For the cost here, I can go to a mid-town Manhattan upscale restaurant and have a better experience with food prepared when we order.
We will miss what the Chart House used to be, a fine restaurant with and incredible view and top notch service.
We have visited the Atlantic City location many times & have always been extremely pleased with the service & food quality. This time we decided to try the Weehawken location & to be honest it just did not match the Atlantic City location in any category except for having a great view of the water.
Our waiter seemed distracted, or disinterested, not really sure which. The restaurant was not very busy overall as we purposely planned our visit for the time between the lunch and dinner rushes. He never offered us the little extras, like bread, which our waiter in Atlantic City always does. I have some dietary restrictions which AC always happily accommodates. The waiter in Weehawken made it seem like it was impossible to get the dishes prepared any way except exactly as they appeared on the menu. I ordered grilled Mahi and asked if I could get my salsa without the jalepenos or, if that was not possible, if I could just get some chopped mango on top of my fish. My husband ordered the same dish the same way and they both arrived with no sauce or mango at all. The fish was fairly moist and was edible, though boring with nothing on top of it. The rice was okay though nothing special. The vegetables were pretty sparse & disappointing. The single baby carrot sliced in half was crunchy and undercooked. The 3 tiny broccoli floret pieces were mushy and overcooked. There was no seasoning on anything so it was all rather bland. After finally chasing down our waiter for some bread, it was warm and fresh, although it was a much smaller selection of different kinds than what AC typically offers.
We wanted the soufflé, which is our favorite shareable dessert from the AC location, but we were told that Weehawken doesn’t offer it which a disappointment. The creme brûlée trio was very good. We enjoyed the seasonal flavors - Meyer lemon, blackberry & vanilla - very much. This location just wasn’t worth the hour plus drive for us so we won’t be back. We will go back to AC instead.
Outstanding service! Jason the waiter made us feel very special on our Anniversary. The steak was delicious, the salmon was very dry. No need to mention the spectacular view which is one of the main reasons for our 1 hour drive.
Overall - great experience! We’ll be back!
Amazing view & food . Must try the mango mojito. Took my wife for her b-day & she fell in love deff will be going again...
We had a fantastic time!! Thank you so much for the little birthday touches that made my wife’s 50th so special!!!
The food was amazing and the server was incredibly sweet and so was the manager but the food took a lot long
The view was stunning. The service was excellent, and the food was absolutely delicious! The waitress was very friendly and attentive to us.
Thank you. We had a great time.
Consistent excellent service, food quality/presentation and a million dollar view!
Our waitress Liz was wonderful and food amazing. The view you couldn’t beat.
A friend referred me, and I think that I will do the same thing I will refer this restaurant to 100 person per day
The view was incredible, the service was excellent, the food was delicious and we even arrived 30mins prior to our reservations and they seated us right away!!
As always dinner at the Chart house is pleasant, good food, friendly staff and great ambiance. Thanks for a great evening!
We had dinner celebrating my daughter-in-law ‘s 30th birthday!! We were very happy to be seated by a window to enjoy the view!! Food was excellent and our server, Gabby , was wonderful and extremely friendly and cordial!!
Excellent Food and Service. The attention to detail is extraordinary.
Buffet was lovely, but slow moving!
I had a reservation and as soon I got there I was seated, the staff was very welcoming, my server was awesome and very helpful. My food was great. I enjoyed everything, I'll be back!
Excellent service and delicious appetizers and dinner.
A very good place to unwind. Food is great, and the crew is phenomenal!
Birthday , great service . Food could’ve been better
The Chart House has been our restaurant of choice for special occasions for many years. The food, service and environment continue to be excellent.
Kimchi calamari was amazing for starting. I’ve ordered crab stuffed flounder. It wasn’t bad but I think it wasn’t my style. My girlfriend has ordered black + blue swordfish and she liked it. The foods were not wow but the ambiance was amazing..
The staff was very professional and the view is amazing. Very special night with very tasty food for the right price!
The table next to us either had too much to drink or were just naturally rude people for talking loudly.
I wish management would have said something!
quality food, nice ambience, overpriced for a buffet, get there early for free parking
Birthday. The ambiance was great! The service was good. Got a complimentary ice-cream . The downfall is the dinner was cold. Seems like it has been in the counter for a while. We had Surf and turf steak and lobster tail was cold. Special of the nite Salmon was cold as well.
Went for daughter’s birthday. Sat by window with spectacular views. Food was very good. Service solid and drinks well made.
Fabulous evening celebrating our daughter’s birthday. Waiter was excellent and food was great!
Great food, service and fabulous views
Poor service quality. Spent more than 30 minutes at the table after been seated with only water. She checked on us when we were almost done with the main courses. We told the server (Zayn) to please put 2 Lava Cake when we were almost finishing the meal because they take about 30 minutes of preparation. For some reason we had to leave the restaurant as I wasn’t feeling ok of health, but they still charged us for the 2 desserts.
Outstanding views of Manhattan with great ambiance and good food for a fair price. The server was cordial enough and efficient. I asked for baked potato but they brought it mashed. Dessert (Hot lava cake) was delicious.
Everyone that we encountered was very pleasant, however our waitress stephanie never came over to assist us. Just so happen we wanted to be closer to the view and asked to be moved and the gentleman Steven waited on us and he was nothing but pleasant.
I don't even know where to start. This was my 2nd visit to Chart House. My first experience was incredible, second visit however was absolutely horrible. I came with my husband for our 10 year anniversary hoping to have a wonderful dinner. The experience felt more like I went to a Fridays or Applebee's. Both our steaks were severely undercooked we had to send it back. When it did come back it wasn't cooked properly. Service was unbelievably slow, we waited for long periods of time before our waitress attended to us. This place is not cheap and for the price I paid I expected much better quality.
Everything was perfect. Our service and attention to customer needs was excellent. The food taste and looked amazing. The price was affordable for the occasion and i felt like i got every bang for my buck. The restaurant offered some services that made me feel really special like taking our coats to the coat room for us. Valet parking was quick and carful with my vehicle. Valet even knew when we were ready to go so as we were walking out my vehicle was being brought up to the front.
We had a beautiful view of the city skyline , noise level was moderately , very intimate location.
