Absolutely the best steak I’ve ever had
Our service was great. We were very disappointed that the tower was not rotating the night we went (which is a good part of going there), but as it turned out, the weather was foggy anyway. The food, although good, was not great — it seems like they use a lot of sauces to entice and enhance the flavor of meat, fish or whatever your entree is. There was a crying child which did not make our experience stellar and we were seated near the elevator which made for more traffic. We had a party of 8, and I understand that it is probably hard to accommodate a large party, but even if the weather had been better, it was a poor location. I thought by making reservations well in advance of the night we went would ensure a better table.
Our food was wonderful! We are repeat customers of the Chart Houses around the country and have never been disappointed. Service was excellent. Parmesan crusted snapper was excellent, Mahi was also excellent, and the volcano cake!!!
Nice dinner and the service was great and the server it was amazing
We had a lovely meal to celebrate a birthday, and the food was excellent. The light level is very low; I suppose so the night-time view is better. Unfortunately that meant we had to pass around the candle in the middle of the table so that we could read the menu.
Poor service and we were told by our server that we couldn’t order fish this late.
After being seated we waited.... and waited..... and waited for our server to come over or even acknowledge us. Finally after waiting for 15 minutes our server came over and just started pouring waters. No hi, my name is... or sorry about the wait... nothing. We ordered a bottle of wine and the waiter started to walk off. I told him we were also ready to order now. After attempting to order mahi-mahi, the waiter asked, “Didn’t the hostess tell you that you can’t order fish this late?” As if we were idiots for not already knowing that.
I was done at this point and just said, We’ll just leave then. I walked up to the hostess and explained that we were walking out because it took over 15 minutes for anyone to even acknowledge us and then we were told we couldn’t order fish this late. We then proceeded to the elevator to leave.
The manager overheard my conversation with the hostess and came over to apologize and asked if there was anything he could do to make it up to us. He also explained that they were out of fish, which is why we couldn’t order fish. I told him I couldn’t handle BOTH bad service AND no fish. I do appreciate his apology, but would rather spend my money where the service is better. We ended up just eating on the Riverwalk instead. You should too.
Waited 30 minutes after our reservation to be seated.
Don’t be fooled by the Suflê desert. It takes long to be prepared and it’s horrible.
The ambiance was excellent other than couldnt read menu because of the dim lighting. had to use tealight on table and my iphone flashlight. Great menu however when we got our meal, the food was lukewarm. I ordered the stuffed flounder and it was just like those you get in the grocery store in the fresh food section. The lobster bisque was very good, the chopped salad very bland. I think i would have preferred a whole flounder with the bones and stuffed rather than what was served. Asked for iced tea, and lemon and sugar or sweetener was not offered. had to ask. Servers were very friendly though. I would go back but probably ask that they make sure our food was hot and would try a different dish.
We went to the chart house to celebrate Valentine’s Day over our baby-moon in San Antonio...a little disappointed at the beginning of our meal as our reservation was for 6, when we arrived a few minutes early around 5:50, they told us to sit in the lounge and they’d text us when our table was ready closer to 6...40 minutes later my husband had to ask them what was going on and they told us we were never checked in? I had checked in downstairs in the lobby and again upstairs once we rode the elevator to the restaurant, they even confirmed my phone number when we checked in! Once my husband talked to them they seated us right away and comped us an appetizer which was very kind. I was just sort of disappointed that our special evening started out this way-kind of put a damper on it! Plus I am 6 months pregnant and was definitely ready to eat lol! Our server Michael was great though and put us in better moods! The view from the top of the tower of the Americas was beautiful, especially seeing the city all lit up at night! The food was pretty good too!
We visited San Antonio because our son is stationed there. On our last evening there, we wanted to treat him to an early Sunday supper. This restaurant was the perfect choice!
It was an amazing experience but we forgot to pick up our picture or look at it to buy it. Is there any way we can still purchase it??
The service was nonexistent. The bartenders were not attentive to the patrons at the bar. Had to ask for napkins three times before they gave us one. They did not acknowledge gentleman waiting to order until he finally sat down. Dinner - waiter took forever to show up at table, he brought only one drink from our drink order and when asked about the other he said oh yeah I’ll get it, he forgot part of our order and when we told him about it he barely said sorry and then had someone else bring us our check. That’s what you get when your waiter doesn’t write anything down. We never saw a manager all night. It was horrible service I will never go back nor would I tell someone to go.
It was a very nice experience for a dinner date. The food was great, the service was great, and the service was great. Overall a great experience for my wife and I!
