Chart House Restaurant - Tower of the Americas Ratings and Reviews
We've always had fantastic service here but this time was the exception. Waiter simply could not get our order right. He tried to fix it but we said no it's fine we will just eat wrong food. Got charged for more expensive food on his mistake. Then dessert never came because he didn't put in our dessert order. Just don't expect amateur server mistakes like that at a place that's $50+ a person. May or may not give it another go later...
We enjoyed eating at the Chart House. It has become our go to place for our anniversary. The food and service are outstanding and well worth the money and the drive. The A/C works great...maybe a little too good. Next time we will wear long sleeves! However, it's always better for a restaurant to be too cold than too hot, especially in San Antonio! :)
I visit the restaurant every year for my birthday. This year I invited my mother in law and some friends for a mini vacay to san antonio and of course to my favorite place for a birthday dinner. Our experience this year was horrific and in fact ended up ruining our entire night. We were seated 35 minutes after our reservation time and it was just downhill from there. After what happened this year I'm thinking I might have to find a new place to celebrate next year. If you want more details about my experience that night feel free to call me 8328593214
I am a fan of anything done by Landry's and this one is 700 feet above the Alamo City. I was in town for a conference and invited some clients up for dinner. We had a great time and the view is exceptional. Dinner was as expected in an upscale Landry's. We had coconut shrimp as an appetizer and I had snapper while one guy had a steak. All of us enjoyed our meal and our server took great care of us.
Absolutely wonderful food! The waiter was extremely helpful all the way from food choices to the drinks. He knew the menu in and out and told us about anything we wanted to know about. Even took a picture of us for our date. Wonderful restaurant with an amazing view. Wouldn’t miss the chance to go if you have the opportunity.
The Chart House is a wonderful place! Took my girlfriend for her birthday and the food was amazing. The seafood was magnificent. The crab cake was the best I ever had and the fish was perfectly cooked. The drink menu could be updated but everything else is great!
I made reservations through Open Table, which really wasn’t a problem, in fact it was very convenient. I had called the Chart House for reservations and was told they only had one table available late in the evening. I was able to make a reservation through the Open Table app for about 2 hours out, instead of the 6 hours the restaurant “operator” said was the only reservation available. We arrived early, and was prepared to wait, no problem. At first they didn’t know who I was or that I even had a reservation, then they finally found it. It was clearly listed on the screen, but the host kept insisting it was a reservation that belonged to someone else. Anyhow, we went through several different cycles of finding then losing my reservation. We were also given contradictory instructions on where to wait. They prefer to text you when your table is ready, which they did 3 times. One host kept telling me that I didn’t have a reservation and never received any texts, when I showed her the texts on my phone she responded that she was seating someone else’s reservation. At the same time another host kept trying to seat me and the hosts started arguing with each other. Long story short, the “hosts” are incompetent and don’t express they understand customer service. After getting through the ordeal of actually getting our table, I must admit the food was awesome. The restaurant is noticeably loud, and we felt a little cramped in our booth, but the view is stunning and there is no place in San Antonio that offers better.
I like the view and the lighting was very nice. The staff catered to our every need with was nice took a little bit long for our main course and it wasn't hot maid is think maybe it sat there for a bit. We decided not to say anything for it would of taken longer to remake two new ones but overall it was a nice experience.
The views are awesome and it is fun and exciting to have dinner in a special place like this. However the food quality and service do not match the high price. The prawn cocktail was extra cold and the fillet mignon overcooked, even having told the waiter that we wanted it nearly raw.
W# ordered prime rib and salmon. It came cold. The Merlot I ordered with the prime rib arrived when I was about done with my meal. I sent the wine back as it was too late. Not a good 56th wedding anniversary dinner experience. we live in San Antonio ((29 years). Last time we will go to the Chart House. Our 3 grown Children also live here; they value our restaurant experiences. Our server was "Paul", not too sharp.
This was a great place to celebrate a wedding anniversary. The view is spectacular and the fact that the restaurant revolves gives you a great view of the city. Request a window seat for the view. Drinks were a good pour and the wine list gave you a number of choices, especially by the glass. My wife had nothing but appetizers and I had a meal. We were able to take home leftovers because of the portion sizes. We heard it was going to be expensive but the meal was no more so than any other high quality restaurant. Definitely will go back if we are in San Antonio again.
Hostess station needs improvement. We made a reservation but waited over 10 minutes to be seated. Guests who arrived after us were seated first. When we inquired at hostess desk, they didn’t remember us. Our server, Emmy, was fabulous! She recommended cocktails that were very tasty. She was also very attentive. The food was quite delicious. We were very happy with our dinner.
