Anniversary Dinner was excellent. The bartender was a little frazzled when we arrived, but made up for it by making some excellent cocktails. The ambiance was excellent. The hostess seated us at a window table as we requested. Our waiters were on top of their game. Everything was enjoyable. Prime rib was very good and my wife's Mahi was superb. We will definitely be returning very soon.
Small menu - not the number of items I remember from a previous visit, my entire meal was cold and the waiter brought my plate with a hot pad and told me to be careful... wow
We wanted someplace special for my wife’s 65th birthday. The views, the food and the service were all stellar, making for a wonderful evening. Thank you Chart House for a great memory!
A most remeberal experience would dine there again.
Our server, Carver, was outstanding. My date and I shared the lobster bisque, shrimp cocktail. For entrees we had the prime rib and sea bass - both were outstanding. The ambience was lovely. We'll be back!
Chart House dining was very enjoyable. Our service was excellent and the food was outstanding. We hosted old friends, who were impressed by the experience. We were not rushed, but service was available when desired. We will certainly return.
Our waitress was very charming and served us well Everyone enjoyed their dinner choices. We will be back
Server was excellent
Food better than expected.
We had a wonderful experience. We've been to many Chart Houses and we always have a great dinner. We highly recommend it👍
What a pleasant surprise! Haven’t been here in years and it was just as good as it was back in the day. Can’t wait to go back!
Good food good service and very good ambience with really good price points all adds up to a great experience with good friends
My first Chart House dining experience was in Savannah, GA in 2017. The experience was superb. Not so much in Scottsdale. The food was lukewarm, not hot and the presentation was bland. The service was very good.
An old favorite. Will return sooner next time. Mike, the server was great. Very nice!
Service & food was excellent.
Much better than our last visit as it appears the restaurant is getting its stride. Efran did a very nice job with our large group. Overall The Chart House and Landrys need to do more for their loyal VIPs though.
Lovely setting, excellent food, and very attentive service. We recommend the Chart House to everyone looking for a fine dining experience. Book well in advance, though, to ensure your reservation.
We both had the 10oz prime rib. It was good!
Meals were over priced. Ice tea arrived at the table with no ice. A second glass of tea was never offered when the first one was empty. When food items arrived at the table the server was asked about a missing item. The response was I only have two hands. Not what I needed to hear. Had to ask for the bill after a long wait. Save your money and go somewhere else.
Ate at the Chart House during Restaurant Week. The view of McCormick Ranch lake & golf course sets the scene for a relaxing time while enjoying great food and drinks. The wait staff was very friendly. And even though the restaurant got quite busy, it was not loud. It's a great place for a romantic date night or dinner with family & friends.
First time out to dinner after COVID. Our server was great! We stayed there forever but he was very patient and attentive.
I was anticipating the night of our dinner we hadn’t been to chart house in some time and were looking forward to getting back to eating at this location. Beautiful setting , waiter was pretty good but the food was was probably the worst dinner I have been served in a long time. The dinner was advertised asNewYork medallions and shrimp. I asked for rare. It came to me as steak strips over dried , shrivels up barely warm fingerlings and broccoli s that looked like it was yesterday’s. Ordered rare..got a couple pieces close to,that but others well well done. Clam chowder did have clams but otherwise lacked flavor. My husband ordered the captains cut prime rib ..not much flavor and chewy.
The waiter was aware of my dissatisfaction and asked what he could do and i didn’t know other than start over but will not return
The atmosphere was old and dated. It had been several years since we last dined at this restaurant and it looked exactly the same minus the salad bar. The food was bland and overpriced. The dessert was overly sweet and I couldn't even eat it. We visited for restaurant week and we will not be back.
We went for restaurant and had a wonderful meal. Excellent choices that were reasonably priced and everything was delicious. Would highly recommend!
Probably won’t be back. The food was under seasoned and over cooked.
Mitchell was amazing, he made our experience worth while. Wonderful service and perfect views to enjoy a quiet date night!
We went to celebrate my wife’s birthday and had an excellent experience. The service was outstanding and the food was excellent. The view of the lake is great!
Maybe the food was not up to par because it was restaurant week.
Overall we had a nice evening with good food overlooking the water as we have come to count on at Chart House.
The disappointment was in being referred to us as “you guys” by the wait staff in-training throughout our evening.
Given that the phrase continued to be used after the first visit to our table, tells me the person training her did not address the wording used.
I understand that the phrase is commonly used these days, and use it myself on occasion. However, a sense of time and place would be an improvement it’s use and would be appreciated. It’s elimination would seem to fit the standard you work hard to set.
A side note: thankfully “your” was used rather than “you guys’s”, I am happy to mention.
Again time and place enters in. My experience is that alternate grammar is now to be expected in establishments that are casual and/or with young adult wait staff. I must admit that I was surprised to here it in your restaurant.
Restaurant week menu was the problem. We had the 3 courses plus a side. The salad was chopped and rather mushy. The salmon was bland so we filled up on the mud pie dessert...which was good but not something to rave about. The ambiance was excellent. But if you're trying to bring people into your restaurant that have never been there I don't think restaurant week was a fair assessment. The normal menu is usually quite excellent.
Chart House, Scottsdale (Review)
I tried out another new restaurant today that I have never been to before: Chart House in the beautiful McCormick Ranch area in north Scottsdale. I believe this concept (restaurant chain) is positioned as a mid-to-upscale. I was anxious to try out their ARW menu which looked quite appealing.
I started with the New England Clam Chowder which was nice, followed by the New York Medallions and Shrimp with the chimichurri sauce and fingerling potatoes. I added an order of Artichoke Spinach Dip with tortilla chips, and finished with a Mini Mud Pie. The complementary bread was good.
The restaurant has a nice location which overlooks a man-made lake within a golf course. The service was friendly and efficient and was probably the best part of this experience.
The ambience is pleasant but you can tell that it caters to a much older clientele. It is definitely a restaurant that my parents might have enjoyed. Quite dated, ultra conservative and traditional. There was light jazz music playing over the speakers in the restaurant and I could see sports playing on the TV over in the bar side. The regular menu is broad enough and would probably have something for everyone.
I’m definitely glad I tried this out as it was on my list of restaurants to explore.
To be honest, the food was very average. Sadly the meat was overcooked (I requested medium rare), the chimichurri was not appealing, and the potatoes were cold. The spinach dip was tasty but overly runny. The ice cream mud pie was rock hard and difficult to eat. My guess is they had pre-prepared a number of these meals as part of their Arizona Restaurant Week featured menu. However, I had my dinner reservation at 4:30 PM to avoid any rush and to make sure I was getting food that was hot and freshly prepared.
If I were to return in the future, I would definitely hope food matches the service.
We arrived early and had a cocktail at the bar before dinner, then seated at 7 pm. They graciously seated us with a lakeside table where we were able to view both the sunset and full moon. The food was phenomenal and our server was accommodating. Perfect evening! Thank you!
Chopped salad was excellent and the salmon cooked perfectly. 👍Unfortunately dessert didn’t measure up. Brûlée has sugar crystals and was liquid. Mud pie nothing to write home about 🤣
This was our first time to visit this Chart House and it will never be repeated. The exterior was looking a bit shabby and the entrance could have been upgraded or maintained during the shut down.
We had a reservation and were seated quickly upon arrival. The server was prompt and very professional. We placed our orders for drinks and appetizers and the drinks were fairly quickly served. The cocoanut shrimp were very good as well.
That was the beginning of the breakdown.
I had ordered the prime rib medium done and my wife had ordered the halibut. Her order was barely recognizable as a piece of fish it was so misshaped. My prime rib came out with griddle sear on one side and was well done. This took about 40 minutes to be brought to our table. I requested that the kitchen try again with my order. Our server brought out another piece that was maybe medium well and apologized for this one since the cook was going to just put the first piece of meat on the griddle and warm it up. The server was able to get me a fresh piece of meat.
We left without even trying for dessert. I tipped the server well since he tried to get the order corrected and apologized for the poor service from the kitchen.
At no time did we see a manager so maybe this treatment was typical if there were none present.
Best prime rib I ever had. Great service, great ambiance. Will be back.
Very nice meal, quiet restaurant; good for date or enjoying dinner w friends. Lovely view. We did the Restaurant Week menu so great price; normal menu looked a bit high, but I appreciate that they are not seating all tables to preserve social distancing, so I'm happy to pay a little more. Service was friendly but a bit slow. I suspect they, like other restaurants are having difficulty getting servers. Overall we'd recommend.
excellent food service and setting in celebrating my anniversary...food drink and service were superior...cant wait to visit again
We had a wonderful and delicious dinner at Chart House for restaurant week! Carver, our waiter was excellent. The view made us feel like we were in Hawaii - water, palm trees and tiki torches. The food was outstanding!! Chart House is one of our favorite restaurants!
I order a NY Steak and wanted cook medium rare. The first Steak was cook well done, the second and third Steak was raw in the middle. I ended up ordering Scallops and shrimp dish which was okay. My wife order a fish dish and wanted grill well done but when she received it the fish was not cook all the way through. She had to send it back to be cook.
High quality all around. Would recommend to anyone looking for a good meal.
