Took the family out for my birthday to the Chart House because I knew we'd get amazing food and have fantastic service. That is exactly how it was! Thank you Chart House for your consistency in providing exceptional dinning experiences.
Started with great appetizers: mango stack and kimchi calamari. Warning on the calamari: may need at least four people to share it, unless all you're having is appetizers. Stuffed on the flavorful apps, we shared a grilled trout filet which was moist and delicious. No room for dessert, but the light Pinot noir that was highlighted on the menu went well with everything, fish or no. Hint: there is a Bay St. level entrance. So, depending on where you want to sit, you don't need to go down and up to access the restaurant.
We had a non-traditional Thanksgiving dinner at this Chart House restaurant, and we loved everything about our evening: the welcome, the table, the service, the food and the wine selection! We were a tad apprehensive as riverfront restaurants in Savannah can be quite "un-even", but this was a perfect fit for us.
Service was not good. The appetizer took 45 minutes to come out, I’m pretty sure the waitress forgot until we mentioned it and then she said “I think I just saw it come up in the window”. We had the Thanksgiving dinner and the turkey was very dry and almost in edible. The sides were good. The sliver of pie we got with the meal was almost laughable. Would have rather just picked my own desert from the menu and paid for it. Over all we spent $170+ for what I consider a below average meal.
Service was slow. Tables are jammed so close that the waiters were forced to squeeze around chairs and elbows making for unpleasant dining and numerous uncomfortable apologies. The setting is obviously unique and fabulous. The seafood was very good. Suggest fewer tables, more servers and higher prices if necessary to balance the bottom line.
Never felt more inferior than how I felt at this restaurant. My husband and I enjoy dating each other and this was literally the worst date this year. We ordered drinks that never came. The food was mediocre at best. The servers treated us poorly. Never returning to this restaurant. Very disappointed!
We celebrated at the Chart House recently and it was fantastic. We were immediately greeted by the hostess and taken to our nice table. Our waiter, Mark, was outstanding, very attentive and so personable. Our prime rib and filet were cooked to perfection. The mud pie is to die for. What a nice evening we had. Love this restaurant.
Overall good experience. Food was great, price was what I expected, atmosphere was good. Only issue, was our server; very pushy with her opinions on what we should do for food and how we should order drinks (we didn't ask for her opinion), we felt as if we were being served by a used car salesman. We will go back, but definitely hope to have a better server. Not a fan of pushing a dinning club card at the end of my dinner, either.
Had the lobster and shrimp spring roll. It was a bit dry. When we informed the manager he removed it from the bill. One crab cake as an appetizer seemed a bit pricey. Had the swordfish and grouper both very good. Service and atmosphere were excellent. We will be returning for another meal. The Landry's Select doesn't really apply to Savannah.
While the quality of the food and service were excellent, we felt the portions for the price of the entrees was very disappointing. If you go here, avoid the server suggestions as we noticed that they tend to push you to higher profit items, not necessarily better values. Particularly, we ordered the shrimp and scallops entree and were surprised to find that we received three medium shrimp and three small (1”) scallops along with a small pile of whole kernel corn and sauce. Disappointing. On a positive note, the atmosphere and view are excellent.
This was my wife’s birthday dinner and everything was great. The waiter, Rickie, was very friendly and witty. The staff signed a Birthday Card to my wife and, they provided a special menu with a Birthday tribute to my wife. Great atmosphere, food and service. I’d recommend this restaurant to everyone.
My husband and I really enjoyed this restaurant. My only complaint is that pop music was played over the speakers. I would have enjoyed some better music. Maybe some soft rock or classical.. anything but pop music. The food was amazing and the service was good!
Made a reservation online indicating that we were celebrating a birthday. After the meal we had to mention the occasion before we were offered a free birthday dessert. Server was polite but we were really pressured to join their dining rewards program. The food was a little disappointing. Could get same quality at a lower price point steak house. For the prices, we were expecting better.
Impeccable at all levels.
Only criticism was that we were by kitchen and should have had a larger foyer wall to deaden sound but more importantly to block view. However, it was apparent the kitchen staff is professional not only by their product but by their efficient and professional culinary demeanor
From the moment we entered, we were greeted and directed to the 1st level where the hostess stand was located. We were then escorted back up to the 2nd floor to be seated at a table with a river view (yay)! The server was quick to take our drink orders and answer any questions we had. We started with the shrimp and avocado stack, which was delicious, followed by the Pecan Bourbon Shrimp and Scallops for myself and the Swordfish for my partner. The Pecan Bourbon glaze was phenomenal and the shrimp and scallops were cooked perfectly. I tasted the Swordfish and the smokiness of it coupled with the tenderness made it delightful. I would highly recommend dining here. Great service, great food, and reasonable prices!
Excellent food and service. One of the best crab cakes I've had, of many tasted. Superb service from Tyler. Very nice ambience and not noisy like so many restaurants are. We dined on the ground floor and did notice as we left by the stairs to the upper level that the atmosphere became smokey as we climbed.
