Beautiful views of the bay and excellent food and drinks.
Great experience with fantastic views. Food was good and service was phenomenal
Great place to entertain customers.
Visit to San Francisco
My steak was cold!
My stable was not wiped dry once we got sitted!
I expect more from an upscale restaurant!
The server is great, very attentive, but once she redo my order my steak is not rare anymore but well done, and the platting is missy and bad no presentations.
Service was terrible but the food was pretty good for the most part. We’ve been coming here for years, since before it was the Chart House and the service has gone way downhill. Doubt we’ll be back...wasted a lot of time here. Had to keep asking for bread (we finally got it after our appetizers and soup were done) and our drinks took forever, and had to ask for our bill a couple of times as well. Not worth it.l the time and money spent.
Been here many times & had a fantastic experience. This visit was not the same. Very poor service. Food was still very delicious but the lack of service was very disappointing. If this had been my first visit I may not have returned.
The only draw back to this location is the parking. Parking cost me just as much as my entree. Our view was spectacular.
It was so cold inside the restaurant that it was hard to enjoy the food.
Eating at the Chart House is always a wonderful experience and the staff is always very friendly and professional.
Extremely watered down cocktails began an evening of disappointment, even other diners were suggesting doubling up, despite incredible mark up. One of two Caesar salads served undressed. Utensils unclean. Very high prices, probably for the great view of the bay. Server was very pleasant.
Chart house really exceeded my expectations!! Beautiful view of Alcatraz and the bay from almost any seat in the restaurant! Service was good attentive and timely. Food was amazing we had the coconut shrimp what was fantastic and then a filet and rib eye! The steaks were made perfectly plus we had fingerling potatoes and asparagus both had a fantastic flavor and prepared perfect!
Everything was good but, the Crab Sandwich was a bit dry.
service - the lights were on but nobody was home , the manager and the cook did stop by but the damage was done
Nice dinner, great views and good service
We went for my husband’s birthday. We have been to many Chart House restaurants in our 37 years together but not San Francisco so this was special! The food was excellent and the service was outstanding. Thank you so much for making my husband’s birthday special.
We enjoyed our dinner at ChartHouse. The food was very good with the exception of a Panko-crusted chicken entrée which I would not recommend. The salmon entrée was excellent although the kitchen did not follow our waiter's instructions to have it cooked plain--no oil or topping and to have the sides served on a separate plate. The swordfish was excellent too. All in all, everything was great and the waiter was very gracious. Highly recommend!
Great value for great food! View is great if u ask for a window seat!!
We came here to celebrate my 40th birthday and Father's Day. It was a wonderful celebration with a beautiful view and to top it off service and food was top-notch. All the times I've gone to San Francisco I don't know why I've never visited this restaurant but it's my new favorite. It's going to be a tradition for us to come here every year for Father's Day
Our server was one of the best! We had a wonderful birthday meal for my husband.
We were celebrating our Anniversary. Had the calamari it was delicious. Then ordered the dish with fish, shrimp, and more calamari...whew that was a lot of food. All good.
Only down side was reception did not inform us the bar area was open seating when we asked if we could dine earlier than reservation. They said they would fit us in when they could with the whole bar empty!
Service at table was great. Food was great and timing between course was perfect.
We were celebrating my husband’s birthday. We arrived early and they sat us immediately at a nice corner table with a lovely view.
The drinks were quite expensive but good and the starters were huge but also good, we ordered two not realizing how big they would be!
The meal itself was delicious and the waiter quickly understood my preferences and made sure my plate was as ordered. He did not check in enough throughout our meal but he was busy. The manager popped by to say hello and when I told him we were celebrating a birthday, he made sure we “left room for some dessert” which arrived at the end the meal!
Overall, it was very nice!
Visited the Lahaina location 27 years ago
We arrived at 6:10 pm for a 6:30 reservation. Shown to bar. At 6:47, we went back to desk and found out that they had forgotten us. Seated at 7:00 p.m. Waiter was sympathetic, and gave us free hors d'oeurves. We ordered dinner, which they expedited. The dinners arrived, and after a few minutes, we laughed at the fact that we had the wrong dinners. Our waiter arrived a few minutes later with our dinner plates in his hand. At this point, we decided to call it an evening, and laugh it off. The manager did arrive and try to apologize for the evening. We insisted on paying the bill, but when I told her that I wasn't going to tip for the evening, she implored me not to punish the service staff. I left a $20, which was more than I should have. I write this to tell Chart House that their SF operation needs a serious overhaul of their staff. At no time was responsibility taken for clearly incompetent service. Your other locations that we have visited are first rate. This establishment does not meet your standards.
Food was good, not great. Cocktails were fantastic and table side cocktail was perfect! Service was a little slow.
An absolute must when visiting San Francisco! Food & Service was above and beyond!
It was terrible, the place was closed for a private event, they offered us a limited menu. Very bad experience, definitely do mo recommend this place. Nothing to do with Chart House in other cities. Air conditioning did not work, place was smelly, servers not properly trained, please go somewhere else
Grea my server, food and location!!
I get it. Pier 39 is a tourist madhouse. However, because of prior experience with Chart House in Portland, our home town, we expected a certain level of dining experience that was not met. We waited nearly 10 minutes at table before the waiter came by to say he'd be with us "in a few minutes." It was a hot day, and 3 bus persons we tried to flag to get some water ignored us. The hostess walked by and I flagged her and she gave me a sour look before grudgingly coming over to see what I wanted. Her response to my request for water was "I'll tell your waiter." The venue has wonderful bay views, but the day was hot, the air in the restaurant was stale and still. The place could use ceiling fans for a little air movement. I don't know much about how to make the signature dessert, Lava Cake, but I have eaten it often enough to know that the middle is supposed to be soft and runny - like, you know, lava...ours (my special birthday treat) was solid as a rock and took almost twice the advertised "40 minutes" to prepare. The waiter and manager were very nice. I can't say the same for the rest of the staff. It was a disappointing experience to say the least for this special occasion.
The service was slow, forgot my drink then acted shocked I didn’t want it anymore when I was more than 1/2 way through my lunch. View is awesome, food ok nothing spectacular
Make sure you do a reservation. Great view of Alcatraz and Golden Gate.
We made reservations here due to the view and the ratings listed on the web. Although the view was spectacular , the service was lacking so much we had to speak to a manager . I hate writing a bad review , but even after speaking to the manager the service was still poor. The entrees were amazing though, the Chefs sampling appetizer was spectacular as well as the huge Dungeness crab. Would have enjoyed the night if it had not been for the lacking service and the over all ‘ we don’t care ‘ attitude. There are MANY restaurants with a view so I would choose somewhere else in the future .
It took a half hour to get drinks when we arrived and the place wasn't busy. The waiter was training someone that took his attention away from us. The prime rib was excellent, but the service was lacking.
This place is right up there with the steaks from House of Prime Rib! The steaks were great! Didn't even need the sauces! The desserts were great too!
Great view and great food!!!
Service was amazing. Great food. Beautiful view.
Great food. Everything we ordered was excellent. Prices were perfect for what we got. Great views of Alcatraz and the Golden Gate. Took our close relatives who were visiting from out of state and they had an absolutely great time. Service was excellent.
Food was excellent. View was also very nice. I was disappointed with the noise level.
