Chart House Restaurant - San Francisco
Last social dinner with close friends night before shelter in place ordered. Beautiful location, excellent view of the bay, Alcatraz, Golden Gate Bridge, San Rafael Bridge, and the pier. Food was excellent, wine was perfect. Our server was very informative and the perfect gentleman. The overall experience couldn't have been any better. I will return to visit sometime after our current Corona Virus situation is resolved. My wife and guests had a wonderful time as well as myself.
My husband birthday
Awesome service and just great people!
The server was good but we were disappointed in the lack of communication about the restaurant closing at 8
First time visiting. The staff were very helpful and accommodating. The location is gorgeous and the food was delicious. Also very impressed with how reasonable the prices were.
food was cold
service was poor
waitress did not let us know that kitchen was close nor closing
she forgot to bring things we asked her
she did not offer water
she suggested tipping
No soup, salad or bread included and the server was unknowledgeable . $4.50 for a sprite and no refills were offered. Not a good value
Everything was excellent. Food was delicious, the calamari is the best I’ve ever had hands down. Our server was super friendly and had a wonderful smile the whole time. Everyone was very courteous and my family and I will definitely be back!
Very nice staff
A truly great experience.
Breathtaking sunset while we ate our delicious steak dinner. 😊
I have celiac disease and the server, manager, and kitchen staff went all out to make sure my delicious lunch was safe. Thanks for the great care!
Service, food, view, were excellent. My only negative comment would be when u serve filet mignon with mashed potatoes you should have a green veggie on the plate.
We walked in and there wasn’t even a host at the host stand. After waiting a few minutes there we wandered around the restaurant until we found a waiter who would seat us. Despite being nearly empty the waiter was busy chatting with the bartender and watching a game on tv and hardly came by to check in / do refills / etc. The food was fine, but at these prices, we were so disappointed by the pitiful service.
Probably the worst run Chart House I have ever been to. Extremely long waits for food and drinks but not the waiters fault.....they just don’t seem to know how to run a restaurant which is sad and the waiter had no help
As for food - I had the lobster roll and it was terrible....could have been tuna fish for all I know - not what you would expect
I would recommend going here if you want a fantastic view of the bay, service was good, but some of the food was a bit off. The cioppino broth was tasty and the crab delicious, but the shrimp and scallops were overcooked and tough to eat, and should not have been added To the broth until a few minutes before serving so they would have been perfectly soft to eat. The prime robe was good. The lace cake was okay, but the cake was like warms, and the lava was not hot as we’ve had it at other places.
Everything was simple perfect
We had a reservation, but waited longer than expected so we grabbed a drink at the bar. They finally called us to sit, but I had to pay my tab. My friend went to the table and I waited over 10mins to pay for my tab at the bar because the bar tender was not coming near my end of the bar. Besides the not so great service, the food was good. Would I go back? Maybe.
It has so much potential. Our server bailed because her shift was over and no one picked it up. So we sat for half an hour completely unattended until I finally went and talked to the main waitress. Just surreal. That’s called an epic fail....So we won’t be going back.
Not as good as other Chart House experiences. Loud love music as soon as you walk in the door doesn’t really fit the Valentine’s vibe (or what I generally consider the Chart House vibe, IMO). “They better seat us as far as they can from that”, per my wife. Out server was energetic, but not particularly attentive. My wife’s water was never refilled - a cardinal sin for her. We were more or less forgotten for a good stretch of time due to an issue at the neighboring table. My prime rib was only just warm and extremely fatty. Her fish was kind of dry (not overcooked, but it needed a sauce or something). Unfortunately only just an average experience this time.
Service was extremely slow.. and nobody seemed to want to help..
I had never eaten here before. It’s located at the end of the pier. The place is very nicely designed. Service seemed a little bit slow, I think our server might have been a little inexperienced, but the food was pretty tasty. I had the prime rib, and they did it right!
It was a Nice evening with my family. Low key, nice window table overlooking the bay and good food and service.
The only strike was that one of the most important details of our evening was almost missed by the staff. I specifically stated that it was my daughters 18th birthday on my open table reservation and we still had to remind the host that we had a birthday to celebrate.
Waited 10 min before greeted by anyone. Server not real personable. Food was just ok for the price.
I took my BFF for her 25th birthday, but I had been to another location in Monterrey for happy hour . Both visits were very nice. The environment is very calm and fine.
Great food and great view
It was good. Not great. But good.
Everything was great from the service to the food. I was about 30 minutes late due to getting off at the wrong end of the pier but when I called to let them know I was lost they were gracious enough to hold my table. I would definitely go back
Food was amazing. Staff was great and the view!!!
Beautiful setting and great food. My only reason for not giving top ratings on services was the server. He kept forgetting who got what dish and was not able to make any wine recommendations based on described likes. I am not a wine snob by any means, but expect a server in the Bay Area at a restaurant of this caliber to give recommendations or at least bring someone over who can. I'm not entirely sure he even wanted to be there. The host was very personable and accommodating and made us feel like important guests. Overall, it was a very memorable dinner for this business trip outing. Thank you!
Requested food was not coming but extra food was coming with pay.
Service was not Gd.
They were out of everything we ordered. And one of the items that they were out of they didn’t tell us about until our plate came to the table, and we noticed a different side order that we did not request. That’s when they decided to tell us they were out of it. So basically they decided to choose for us on their own instead of coming back to our table and telling us so we could pick another item. The food we did end up ordering was cold when they brought to table. Birthday dinner was a complete NON memorable occasion.
GREAT FOOD, GREAT SERVICE!!!! We are locals and frequent Chart House quite often. The prime rib is the absolute best!!!! We will be back.
Great service and food.
The staff was welcoming. There was a very nice view of the Golden Gate. The food was tasty, however her dish didn’t have any vegetables with salmon. My swordfish had two rather pithy asparagus. When I received the bill there was an added $45 charge for a whole crab that we had not ordered. This was removed graciously, however I felt the wine that was poured might not have been one requested by the glass. So maybe I have a trust issue now.
Always lovely. Manager Angela was great.. Menu seemed abbreviated but food was good. View great
Very nice location and a great view and decorations. The food was good, not exceptional.
Excellent atmosphere and service the ahi was prepared perfectly,
Very mediocre and unsatisfactory from arrival to departure. Won’t do a Chart House again.
One reason this was chosen is their gluten free menu for 2 in my party who have some sensitivity, but the presentation was fish and steamed green beans. No garnish, no sauce, no potatoes. Awful!
