One Market Restaurant
Probably the worst run Chart House I have ever been to. Extremely long waits for food and drinks but not the waiters fault.....they just don’t seem to know how to run a restaurant which is sad and the waiter had no help
As for food - I had the lobster roll and it was terrible....could have been tuna fish for all I know - not what you would expect
It has so much potential. Our server bailed because her shift was over and no one picked it up. So we sat for half an hour completely unattended until I finally went and talked to the main waitress. Just surreal. That’s called an epic fail....So we won’t be going back.
Not as good as other Chart House experiences. Loud love music as soon as you walk in the door doesn’t really fit the Valentine’s vibe (or what I generally consider the Chart House vibe, IMO). “They better seat us as far as they can from that”, per my wife. Out server was energetic, but not particularly attentive. My wife’s water was never refilled - a cardinal sin for her. We were more or less forgotten for a good stretch of time due to an issue at the neighboring table. My prime rib was only just warm and extremely fatty. Her fish was kind of dry (not overcooked, but it needed a sauce or something). Unfortunately only just an average experience this time.
Service was extremely slow.. and nobody seemed to want to help..
It was a Nice evening with my family. Low key, nice window table overlooking the bay and good food and service.
The only strike was that one of the most important details of our evening was almost missed by the staff. I specifically stated that it was my daughters 18th birthday on my open table reservation and we still had to remind the host that we had a birthday to celebrate.
Waited 10 min before greeted by anyone. Server not real personable. Food was just ok for the price.
I took my BFF for her 25th birthday, but I had been to another location in Monterrey for happy hour . Both visits were very nice. The environment is very calm and fine.
Great food and great view
It was good. Not great. But good.
Everything was great from the service to the food. I was about 30 minutes late due to getting off at the wrong end of the pier but when I called to let them know I was lost they were gracious enough to hold my table. I would definitely go back
Food was amazing. Staff was great and the view!!!
Beautiful setting and great food. My only reason for not giving top ratings on services was the server. He kept forgetting who got what dish and was not able to make any wine recommendations based on described likes. I am not a wine snob by any means, but expect a server in the Bay Area at a restaurant of this caliber to give recommendations or at least bring someone over who can. I'm not entirely sure he even wanted to be there. The host was very personable and accommodating and made us feel like important guests. Overall, it was a very memorable dinner for this business trip outing. Thank you!
Requested food was not coming but extra food was coming with pay.
Service was not Gd.
They were out of everything we ordered. And one of the items that they were out of they didn’t tell us about until our plate came to the table, and we noticed a different side order that we did not request. That’s when they decided to tell us they were out of it. So basically they decided to choose for us on their own instead of coming back to our table and telling us so we could pick another item. The food we did end up ordering was cold when they brought to table. Birthday dinner was a complete NON memorable occasion.
GREAT FOOD, GREAT SERVICE!!!! We are locals and frequent Chart House quite often. The prime rib is the absolute best!!!! We will be back.
Great service and food.
The staff was welcoming. There was a very nice view of the Golden Gate. The food was tasty, however her dish didn’t have any vegetables with salmon. My swordfish had two rather pithy asparagus. When I received the bill there was an added $45 charge for a whole crab that we had not ordered. This was removed graciously, however I felt the wine that was poured might not have been one requested by the glass. So maybe I have a trust issue now.
Always lovely. Manager Angela was great.. Menu seemed abbreviated but food was good. View great
Very nice location and a great view and decorations. The food was good, not exceptional.
Excellent atmosphere and service the ahi was prepared perfectly,
Very mediocre and unsatisfactory from arrival to departure. Won’t do a Chart House again.
One reason this was chosen is their gluten free menu for 2 in my party who have some sensitivity, but the presentation was fish and steamed green beans. No garnish, no sauce, no potatoes. Awful!
Been to Chart House in Tahoe several times and always a fantastic experience. Also had a great experience at the Monterey location. The San Francisco location was somewhat disappointing. Seafood pasta soggy, overly salted and was overcooked. We ordered a dozen oysters for appetizers, but were told they only had 6 left - oyster shortage in the city by the bay? The server later came out and said they found they did have the oysters. They were tasty. As a native San Franciscan, there are so many other options, so we'll probably leave that location for the tourists.
We had a reservation for Christmas Eve at 9pm, we called the morning before to request a nice table as it was also my birthday, which they agree too. upon arrival at 9 o’clock the restaurant door was closed and the personnel advised the had closed for the day. Dressed up and confused we kept knocking at the door until a less than happy manager showed up and said they’d honor the reservation but didn’t even ask for our name or anything. The server tried his best to accommodate but when I ordered the wine he asked if I wanted to taste it or if he should just pour it, as if I had ordered a bottle of tap water.
To order the meal, he came and took my order and asked ‘who’s next?’ As if we were actually at the in and out burgers across the street (this is ‘supposedly’ an upscale restaurant ... with the poorest service.
To complete the experience we order some appetizers but no sharing plates were brought so we used our bread plates and when the entrees arrived the very unwilling server assistants place the plates on a side of our bread plates instead of picking up the dirty ones. A total mess and less than memorable experience.
To the manager, I hope she understands the value of service, to the server, please get trained, to the restaurant chain, it’s a shame that such a touristic location has such a crappy service. If you wonder about the food is was just alright. All in all go waste your money somewhere else even bubba gump would do better. Never coming back
Chose for our x-mas eve dinner and it did not disappoint. Huge drink menu along with excellent meal choices. The host was kind enough to take a family photo in front of one of their decorated trees for us which we appreciated. Waitress was personable, kind and interested in making sure we enjoyed our dining experience. Our food server was also friendly and funny. The view was wonderful. Food came out timely drinks filled regularly and everything was delicious. Very pleasant experience!
View - tremendous; food - fine, but too salty for my taste; obnoxious ‘popular’ music piped in was distracting; service - nice. Really can’t beat the view....
Great food and views. Only thing would have been nice to know up front about 30 min wait for lava cake. Other than that, great!
Great waiter, delicious food and nice sized portions. We would definitely return - especially if the Pier 39 garage is doing one of their parking specials.
Excellent food with fabulous views and good service.
Service was very slow even with so few diners. Our prime rib was very tough. Never had it that tough before.
Wife got the coconut shrimp, loved it. The lobster bisque was just ok, the clam chowder was wonderful. I was a little disappointed in the prime rib. The views of the bay are fantastic!
Reservation for 12:15 wouldn't seat us until or waiter got there?? So we're on time and have to wait for the late employee..
The WORST crab sandwich in the history of crab sandwiches. It was open face cool crab and mix of semi melted cheddar and jack, don't order it trust me you won't be happy. The cold fries are shoe lace size and stone cold and dry. One refill of water then you're on you own, and zero refills of coffee. My friends seafood pasta he said was good so there's that.
View is amazing.
Service/server-i had to leave my glass at the edge of table for refill, and waited, eventually asking to have server bring check. The olace was empty. Should not have taken that long for food or have to ask someone to bring the server
The restaurant was recomended to us by the hotel concierge for our 40th anniversary. It was an excellent choice. The staff was great and the food was better. I recomend this place for any occasion.
Service was less stellar than I had seen in other reviews. We had to ask for water repeatedly and our meals came out at different times. My dinner partner was done with his meal before mine arrived and my side came halfway through my dinner. Not to mention that they spilled part of my dinner on me. My dinner partner's dessert came before I was done with my meal. Bathroom needed service. Overall, disappointing experience for what it's reputation was. We won't be returning... There are too many other stellar restaurants nearby.
Made this reservation 4 months ago to celebrate my mom. Asked to watch boat parade from a window for her. We were not seated by the window. After sitting for 20 min, we had to ask for bread. Was excited for this dinner but were treated as if they were too busy for us. Won’t go back
It was a very nice evening. We came with friends to watch the boat light parade, but was a bit disappointed when they never came back once they took off. This was not the restaurants fault. We had a window seat so we would’ve had a great view.
Beautiful location, right on the water, service was good but very few people there. The food was very mediocre at best
