We celebrated our wedding anniversary at the Chart house. The hostess gave us an ocean view of the sunset so it was lovely. We ordered kimchi calamari as appetizer. My husband ordered salad bar and prime rib. I ordered the trio of soup and lobster tail. Everything was delicious. The waitress gave us complimentary mudpie dessert. We enjoyed the dining experience.

Just dined here a few days ago one of the worst experiences I've ever had ANYWHERE and I"ve been here several times since I live a few miles away
First we arrived at our table at 630pm....At 815 yes 815 we had to ask where our food was
They came to take the order AGAIN (some other waiter) obviously it never went to the kitchen and we were with guests SO EMBARASSING! We had to keep asking for water and service was just horrible- food was just ok
The waitress had someone else wait on us at this point-probably humiliated by her mistake which was never apologized for by anyone
After dinner a dessert on the house was sent (big deal) and 30 mins later they asked if we wanted coffee LOL-wow guess you get what you pay for but this place is not a burger joint!!
To TOP IT OFF.....the bill came OH NOT OUR BILL but someone else's tab who had PAID hundreds in CASH-at this point we called the manager over who DID NOT APOLOGIZE but took $50 bucks off our dinner, which at this point should have been compd--needless to say we did not leave a tip and the worst part is they have no clue how terrible the service was and how this story will be heard by MANY

My husband and I love to celebrate our wedding anniversary at the chart house. We have visited the chart house in redondo beach several times and have always been pleased with our experience, however, this last weekend not so much. We made reservations for last Saturday in celebration of our 23rd wedding anniversary. Our reservation was for 7:45 p.m but didn’t get seated until 8:30 p.m, very disappointed. The main reason we love to visit redondo beach is for the beautiful view the chart house has. We planned our reservation time So we could enjoy the view at sunset but missed it since we didn’t get seated till 8:30 p.m! We did ask the host if he could sit us closer to the window once our name was finally called but he simply ignored us and sat us closer to the salad bar :(
I have to say I was very disappointed in the service and attention we received that night.
We did however have a very nice waitress “Vanessa” and she did a great job.

I made a reservation, through OPENTABLE, for a party of 9, a birthday family celebration. I requested in my notes that the guest of honor had his name printed on the menu, which the Chart House does, but that request was not fulfilled. We were disappointed about that. Our table was nice, but off to the side, not the great view that we were wanting. The service was very good, otherwise.

sorry this visit really fell short of expectations. This was a special dinner for a Birthday. A table by the window was requested 3 weeks earlier. We got there, no table available by the window. We waited 20 minutes, nothing. there was a table for 6 open, but the hostess would not give it to us even though this was a big occasion because we only had 4 people. I did notice several groups of 2 sitting at a table for 4, but the rules change if you want that table for 6? The non-service dog sitting next to us must have counted as a 3rd. Finally we just took any old table they had just to eat as the birthday boy was 85 years old and needed food. From the time we sat until our appetizers came was ONE HOUR. It took 30 minutes to get bread and 40 minutes to get water from the time we sat down. Hard to eat bread without water. I finally had to get up and find my waiter when we noticed that our order of oysters was missing an oyster in the count and to reference the time the food was taking, and ask for him to pay us some attention as he had a party of 10 that took up all of his time. By the time dinner came out (1 hour 45 minutes from our arrival time) our birthday guest was very tired and just wanted to go home so we boxed up their dinners. Total time to eat - 2 hours 15 minutes. We gave our credit card to the waiter before ever getting the bill to hurry things along, but instead of ringing it up he brought birthday cake as a gift. A bit late to the game, nice gesture, but really? What's the point after the food and drinks were so late and we were packing up to leave. After spending a ridiculous amount of money, on good tasting food, we all just expected much better treatment for such a big occasion starting with the hostess who basically said "sorry, out of my control, giggle, giggle", to the waiter that had too many people to handle. If you want repeat business you have to start paying attention to the details of why people are there and make them feel special.

Extraordinary view exceptional service and great food! A little pricey but worth it. Only negatives was coffee not well prepared and hostess could have been more welcoming. Our waiter was one of the best and the fish truly outstanding!

Charthouse has really gone a step further by personalizing menus with the event you are celebrating. the service was great! Frederick was attentive without being overbearing and he knew the menu inside and out. this is the best view in the south bay and it has increasingly improved over the years. we take out of town guests here because the ambiance is great without being overdone. love it and will continue to go back!

My wife and I celebrated our 42 wedding anniversary at The Chart House. We were treated as VIPs from the moment we arrived with a card at our table and a congratulations message on our menus. The food was excellent and the service far beyond expectations. We would highly recommend The Chart House at Redondo Beach for your special celebration, or any other time as well.

We can always count on The Chart-house in Redondo Beach for amazing food, good service and a beautiful view!

I had a wonderful Mother’s Day dinner there. It was very crowded when we came in and we still had to wait 20 minutes for our table even though we had a reservation. Once they found out we were Laundry’s members they sat us right away at a table right in front of the water. It was a bit disappointing in the beginning because we were waiting in the bar but our daughter was too young to sit at the bar so they motioned us to a dirty bar table. They did clean it off but then we had to wait quite a while before someone else took our drink order. We were feeling invisible for a while but it was understandable as it was incredibly busy being Mother’s Day. We were just very thirty and hoping for a glass of water and wine as well. We finally got a glass of water but the wine didn’t arrive until we reached our table.

Once we were sat at our table it was wonderful! As usual, beautiful view, a gorgeous sunset and the food is always amazing!!! The spinach salad is always epic! I had the spiced Ahi and it was wonderful. We had the chocolate lava cake which our kids devour. Our waiter was very good as well even though he was very busy and probably stressed.

We even saw a baby seal that came onto the shore by itself, obviously poking for its mother before heading back into the water. You can’t see that at other restaurants!

My friends laugh at me for choosing the The Chart House on special occasions as they don’t feel it’s hip enough. But I don’t really care. Yes, they could stand to remodel a bit but I’d rather have an ocean view and amazing food over hip decor any day. Also, our kids love the food and running down onto the beach after dinner. Chart house always is a great choice!

Not on a holiday such as Mother’s Day. We had reservations and still waited 45 minutes to be seated. The waiter was too busy with other tables and not responsive. Food was mixed up — orders not correct. It appears the restaurant was not prepared for the large crowd ...

usually I would give 5 stars but on Mother's Day it was packed and I think that they overbooked. the waiting room was full/bar full, people standing to wait for table. we had 5:15pm reservation for 5 people, and were seated at 5:50pm. once we were seated we immediately placed our orders for food as who knows how long that would take, however, everything went pretty smoothly/ service was courteous but you can tell that they were stressed out. our food was delicious though and you can't beat that view! overall when we were seated it was fine, but annoying to wait 40 minutes for your table that you had reservations for/ they needed to not book the tables so close together, in terms of timing.

Don’t go for a holiday such as 4:30 Saturday before mother’s day. Significantly understaffed. 30 minutes late to seat, couldn’t get drinks at the bar area while waiting, slow to get drinks at table. Our waitress very nice but clearly over stretched, food slow to come out, all 3 steak dinners came out very well done verses medium and we never got the sides.

Were it not for the fact the Chart House is generally very crowded, we would eat there far more often. As it is we eat there when we can manage to get away for a very early dinner and avoid the crowd. Excellent food, good wine selection, and very good service. And the view, sitting right on the beach, could not be better.

Until last night, we've enjoyed the Chart House on several occasions for its fantastic ocean views, reasonably good food and of course its salad bar. However, our service was deplorable and I have no desire to return in the near future. The two of us arrived at 6:45 and left at 8:45, because of constant delays in service. And, it was a Monday with the restaurant less than half full.

The service debacle started with the hostess, who wasn't very friendly and responsive to our reservation on Open Table. Then the bus boy wasn't around and it took about 15 minutes to have a window table ready for us - even though there was another window table that was available a few minutes before. After being seated at the table, it took several minutes before we could order a drink and about 10 minutes for us to receive our drinks. When our waitress was dropping off our bread for both our table and the one next to us about 10 minutes later, I asked that we wanted to order - as about 30 minutes had already gone by since we were seated. Instead, she went over to the other table, spending a very long time to take the order for the other couple next to us, who had arrived several minutes after we did. Then she did not come back to take our order, but disappeared to place their order. I think we finally placed our order close to 8pm. Waiting about an hour to place a dinner order after more than 45 minutes after we were seated, is simply absurd and unacceptable. Our dinner came about 20 minutes after that, we ate, and then we finally left - after spending two hours in the restaurant.

If you want a seafood restaurant in the Redondo Beach area, our experience with the service at Blue Water Grill has been much better. Granted, the view of a marina is not as nice as a full ocean view - if you don't mind probably waiting for an ocean view table. But at least you'll probably feel as though you're welcomed at the restaurant, and not ignored as we were at the Chart House.

By far the BEST experience my hubby and I have had at a restaurant !! Made a reservation (last minute) for our anniversary dinner (we wanted to stay local) and was shocked to be seated at the best table in the restaurant with a sweet card from the staff and a nice desert for us. Well done!! You exceeded our expectations. 💕

We have been going here forever. It happened to be our 25 year wedding anniversary so it was a very extra special night. Our server, Lisa was very efficient & kind. The only minor thing was that we ordered the sautéed mushrooms as an appetizer, but it came with our actual dinner. My husband had the grilled swordfish which he really enjoyed, and I had the lemon crusted salmon which still had the bloodline on the bottom, and once I scraped it off , it was very satisfying. The sautéed mushrooms were beyond good! I had the specialty drink, which had tequila in it, was very good! They brought us a complimentary dessert, which was very kind, and very nice tasting!
