Chart House Restaurant - Redondo Beach Ratings and Reviews
Waited close to 30 min for the glasses of wine we ordered - had to go to the hostess desk to get assistance with them, after asking the waitress twice got us nowhere. Then only one of two entrees arrived - so one of us waited with no meal until we were able to flag the waitress down. Her response was, "It was sitting up there, I don't know why they didn't bring it to you." Final straw was the check, where again we had to beg another staffer to help (she refused - "I don't deal with those, you'll have to ask your waitress.") We'd have loved to but she was nowhere to be found. Absolute waste of money and time - we won't be back.
Dining at the Chart House is a total pleasure. The food(king salmon) the service (Chris is friendly and faultlessly competent) and the ocean view, even after sunset, is captivating. It has become our special place for a night out. After just one or two visits we joined Landry's Select Club, and have enjoyed the benefits thereafter.
I ate there twice in one week with two sets of business clients. Our service on Wednesday night was much better than Friday night. Our waiter and waitress on Wednesday was much more attentive. On Friday, I had to ask the waitress half way through the meal about the chocolate lava cake. On Wednesday, the waiter asked us at the beginning of the meal.
It was a special occasion and we were treated splendidly. The salad bar was a real treat. Two of us had steak which was very good and one had fish which she said was the best she had ever had. It was a foggy night but the view was still intriguing. The Chart House is always a winner. Cassandra
The menu that we used to like has been changed to our displeasure. The value for the cost is very poor, i.e., too expensive for small quantity. Service was very good; food choices very limited and difficult for older adults to find menu items that fit their health concerns when eating out. There was little effort by the kitchen staff to accommodate our special needs.
Will not recommend to others.
Our experience was perfect!!!!!!!! We had a group of 26 for our anniversary celebration and we had a private area that was set up. The servers we had were outstanding in their attentiveness and service. All our guests had a wonderful time and enjoyed their food. The setting was everything we wanted it to be.
Overpriced, small portions
Crab leg had to be sent back as they did not even bother to slice the shell and waiter coped an attitude when we requested this basic function. For $56 I️ expect more. Thin crab legs!
Flavorless swordfish and very small and thin
Not like the chart house of old
Much better options unless you only require an ocean view and mediocre food
Food was delicious, and the service was excellent. The appetizers were also delicious. For the hummous platter I would suggest twice as much pita bread. The calamari/sweet potato dish - so tasty! I had a mohito, and though the taste was good, there was too much ice and it was weak on the alcohol. I can only give it a 4 out of 5 because it is very pricey.
I am so disappointed the Chart House has not been able to remain current AT ALL. They have a gorgeous location of course, right on the sand. Beyond that it's a sinking ship and the servers are bravely carrying on, remaining friendly and professional. The food is horrible! I mean it's difficult to understand how an established steak and seafood restaurant could have forgotten how to prepare either. Sides were salty and boring. Apps dull and overcooked. Too bad.
Disappointed with my last experience at Chart House. I made a reservation for my fiance's birthday online. Got a call from the restaurant saying they would have a special menu for him with his name on it to make the occasion special. That did not happen. When we arrived the hostess told us we would have the wait for a window table, which I was fully aware of. We went to the bar for a drink and when we were seated we were not near the water at all, so not sure what we were waiting for... Our server was overbooked with tables and we could tell. We felt bad for him. No speical menu or anything of the sort ever made it our way. He forgot parts of our orders, but comped those items on the bill. I ordered a filet medium, but it came out raw. At this point in the night I just wanted to get out of there so I ate it. Needless to say, it was not the experience I wanted for a special occasion.
The menu has changed quite a bit since the last time I was here a couple of years ago. The salad- bar-with-dinner is gone. Menu items were limited and pricey. Lots of salmon on the menu but I'm not a salmon fan. Not as many seafood choices as I remember from previous visits. Found the wait staff a little intrusive. One thing that hasn't changed is the view- which is outstanding.
I go here at least 2 times a month. My favorite is prime rib. Oh my God the prime rib was tough! Brought the leftovers home and cooked again tenderness. My Mom who is 84 and this is her favorite place had to chew slowly . I was so disappointed. Never thought this would happen. Everything else was great.
